Resisting You

Rate this book
One drunken night. One fake marriage. One very real I fell in love.

One wild night in Atlantic City, I woke up with a hangover, a rescue dog… and a brand-new wife sleeping at my side.

Though it started out rocky enough, we quickly realized that this marriage just may fix all of our problems. A few fake vows. Some real paperwork. And a quick fix to rehab my bad boy image and launch her therapy practice. After a couple of years, we’d get an annulment. The plan was clean-cut, brilliant, and easy.

But I should have known... nothing about Rosa is easy. Especially not the way she looks at me when no one’s watching… or the way her voice softens when she says my name, like I’m more than just a mistake.

Now we’re back in my small hometown, pretending to be the perfect couple for a wedding we never planned. The press is circling, secrets are surfacing, and someone’s hellbent on breaking us up. And for the first time in my life, I want something real.

Too bad I already promised her an exit plan.

Resisting You is a feel-good contemporary romance about chosen family, second chances, and learning that some mistakes are worth making.

Katana Collins is a USA Today bestselling author of over twenty novels, novellas, and comic books in a variety of genres. She is most known for her sensual contemporary romances and her wildly popular comic book— Batman White Knight Presents: Harley Quinn with DC Comics.

When she was younger and stole her mother’s Harlequins to read beneath the covers with a flashlight, she wanted to read about the tough as nails heroine. The perfectly imperfect girl with quirks and attitude and sass. And the anti-heroes who were anything but “Prince Charming.” Forget the knight on a white horse … she wanted the bad boy on a motorcycle.

An avid animal lover, she lives in Portland, Maine with her kind of mean cat, derpy lab-pitt mix, mellow chihuahua, and very not mellow cairn terrier puppy. Oh, yeah… there’s a husband somewhere in that mix, too.

She can usually be found in a coffee shop with her nose buried in a laptop wearing fabulous (albeit sometimes impractical) shoes.

She loves connecting with book lovers like herself, and fellow sassy storytellers, so feel free to drop her an email, visit her on her website. She also loves connecting on Instagram, Facebook or in her reader group, Kat’s Kittens!

This one is really entertaining, and I recommend reading this series in order for the best experience.

Being a TV star has its own set of challenges, and Noah Tripp has become accustomed to being known and recognized. Unfortunately, this isn't helping him win over the woman he wants.

Rosa has been part of his world for years as a friend (even though he's wanted more). Having a good understanding of how fame and image perception can be used against someone, she wants no part of it, but when these two find themselves 'accidentally' married, they scramble to lessen the impact of what this means for their respective careers.

These two are easy to connect with and enjoy. Their steamy attraction and sizzling chemistry are addictive and tough for them to ignore. This has drama, sibling banter and support, found family feels, past family hurts resolved, and a heartwarming HEA.

The tie-ins to other books/stories were so fun for me, as I enjoyed those before this one, and recommend reading Beefcakes and Shortcake as well.

Again, it's best if you've already understood the storyline that leads to this one, but you can dive in here and go back and fill in. I recommend this author and this series.

I was fortunate to receive an ARC of this story from Booksprout and Literally Yours PR (thank you) and happily leave my review.

“ɪ ꜱᴛᴀʀᴇᴅ ᴀᴛ ʜᴇʀ. ꜱᴛᴀʀᴇᴅ ᴀᴛ ʜᴇʀ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴀᴍᴇ ᴡᴀʏ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ꜱᴏᴍᴇᴏɴᴇ ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅ ꜱᴛᴀʀᴇ ᴀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏᴏɴ ᴏʀ ᴡɪꜱʜ ᴜᴘᴏɴ ᴀ ꜱᴛᴀʀ. ꜱʜᴇ ᴡᴀꜱ ᴍʏ ᴡɪꜱʜ ᴜᴘᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴛᴀʀ.”

I absolutely adore Katana Collins and their writing...every book is so full of emotion and leaves you smiling afterwards no matter what...and this book was no exception. This book is a stand alone but is semi connected to the Maple Grove series...I would recommend reading those beforehand simply because you get a lot of background on certain characters, and they are pretty interwoven into this story...that being said, you can absolutely enjoy this book on its own. This is the perfect book for a little break in between heavier and darker books...full of found family...drunken marriages, and friends who turn to lovers after fighting it for years.

Noah and Rosa are our MC's for this book and these two are everything...while Noah is a famous actor who is used to the spotlight, Rosa is the complete opposite. She grew up in a family that was famous in their own right and she has done everything to make sure she stays out of the spotlight and makes a name for herself on her own accord. As different as they seem, they balance each other out and their differences only make their friendship stronger.

Noah has been in love with Rosa for years, asking her out every chance he can, and she rejects him EVERY TIME...with love of course 😂 But that man is persistent...he gives her space but never really gives up...wanting to make sure she knows that he is into her and wants more with her. Rosa? She has feelings for him too, but secrets from her past and not wanting to be thrust into the spotlight keep her from going for what she truly wants.

One drunken night changes their friendship forever when they wake up MARRIED...yikes...but also, YAY! Because these two have so much chemistry, I was DYING for someone to make a move...I literally wanted to reach into my kindle and shake them. They decide to stay married to benefit them both professionally and personally...but things get even more chaotic when Rosa's parents find out about the marriage and decide that they need to have a PROPER wedding...filled with guest that neither the bride or groom want...talk about controlling families 😩

Thankfully, we have a saving grace in Noahs family, who is amazing and so loving...they literally welcome Rosa in with loving arms...making sure that both Rosa and Noah know they are supported no matter what decision they make.

I loved watching both of these MC's have their walls broken down and truly opening up to each other. Rosa had a lot of secrets and felt almost like she couldn't be in Noahs life, and Noah...even though he really wanted Rosa, he just wasn't really a relationship guy...but for his WIFE...he was willing to give it his all....and that includes adopting an adorable puppy🥰

This was definitely a fun, feel good romance that will have you smiling and swooning the entire time.

Thank you so much to Katana Collins for giving me the opportunity to ARC read this book.💖

I was provided an ARC of this book via the author and Literally Yours PR, all opinions are my own.

I'm a bit behind on reviews, but this was delightful. I loved that Noah and Rosa were already friends for a long time and already had chemistry between them. That eliminates the awkward we just met and now we're married situation after a night of debauchery. Noah had been asking Rosa out for years, but she always turned him down, despite liking him. She had her reasons, which become very apparent as the book unfolds. Now that they are married and tabloid fodder, these two friends turned spouses decide to use this marriage to their advantage as it might help both of their careers. Plus it helps that they actually like each other, I mean really like each other. Everything starts off well in their "marriage of convenience" until Rosa's overbearing parents show up demanding she have a proper wedding, inviting people she doesn't know and people Noah can't stand to their wedding. The happy couple is determined to make their marriage work until traitors in their midst make it known that they are determined to tear them apart. Will the couple survive the tabloids and the paparazzi?

Noah and Rosa were such a fun couple. They had great banter and chemistry. I also loved that they adopted a puppy! I love dogs. We get alot of character development from our couple as they both have to deal with alot of outside pressure from family and the media in the wake of their accidental marriage. Rosa grew up with famous parents and she doesn't like being in the spotlight. She wants to do her job and be successful on her own merit, and when her credibility gets questioned she completely shuts down. I think her reaction was completely reasonable and realistic, but I loved that she had a friend to support her. I also appreciated that she had a conversation with her father about how she felt. I would have liked to see a similar conversation with her mother, but overall I thought the conflict resolution was done nicely on Rosa's side. As for Noah, relationship's aren't really his thing, but you can tell he's be holding out for Rosa this whole time. He has some family stuff to deal with, and I loved how that was all handled in the end and his interactions with his siblings especially his twin sister.

This reads as a complete standalone, however it is related to the Maple Grove series. I've read a few of the books in the series out of order, and I can attest that you can read them in any order. The Tripp family is worth getting to know and Maple Grove is 100% a place I wish was real because I want to live there. I can't wait to read Callie's book!

I love, love, looovvveee this one!!!
With so many of my favorite tropes packed into one story—he falls first, one drunken night leads to marriage, and small-town charm—SIGN. ME. UP.

Katana Collins once again delivers a heartfelt romance that’s both lighthearted and brimming with feels. Resisting You is the kind of book that sweeps you up in its fast-paced, insta-love storyline, but still grounds itself in meaningful moments and an emotional plot that sticks.

Noah Blue Tripp is every reader’s dream golden retriever book boyfriend—sweet, easygoing, and the kind of man who wears his heart on his sleeve. The way he feels about Rosa is pure, unshakable devotion, and it made my heart melt into a puddle.

Rosa Alvarez, on the other hand, is such a strong, independent woman with scars from her past. I completely understood why she hesitated and struggled with her feelings for Noah—it made her so real and relatable. Even when I felt a little frustrated with her, her reasons were valid and made me root for her journey even more.

Their chemistry? Top notch. 🔥 Every glance, every touch, every moment buzzed with tension. And thank goodness—there’s no annoying miscommunication dragging things out. Just two people trying to figure out if love this big and this fast can be trusted.

And I can’t forget the Tripp family. I fell head-over-heels for their dynamic—warm, chaotic, funny, and so full of love. They make the world of this series even richer, and now I know I HAVE to go back and read every book before this one (even though book five totally works as a standalone).

Overall, Resisting You is refreshing, funny, romantic, and simply a joy to read. If you’re in the mood for a quick, easy-to-love story that balances humor, heat, and heartfelt emotion, this one is perfect.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 – A swoony, binge-worthy read that shows how the love you’ve been resisting might just be the one meant to last forever.

Is Atlantic City like Vegas, and what happens there stays there? Noah Blue Tripp and Rosa Alvarez are in AC for their friends' wedding. When they wake up married to each other and realize they have to go back to real life, what happened in AC follows them home.

He's big-time Hollywood, always in the public eye, and she's…not. Rosa Alvarez avoids the limelight like the plague, having grown up with a public figure father. Still, she follows Noah home to small-town Maple Grove, which is where the fun begins. The easy part? Adopting a stray puppy together. The not-so-easy part? Her parents and the rest of Hollywood and its paparazzi showing up for the necessary public wedding events someone else has planned for them.

This one is quirky small town and charming characters at its finest. With an epic mean girl, colorful characters, and awesome close family dynamics, you’ll love every minute you spend within these pages . Laughs, steam, a few tears and tons of heart make for a delightful, humorous, heartfelt read you won’t be able to put down.

"Resisting You" by Katana Collins is a great read that, blends humor, romance, and heartfelt moments really well.

I’ve not read any of the other books that are linked within this book, but I’m definitely adding them to my TBR 😃 as it sounds as if Noah and Rosa have appeared in other stories.

A wild night in Atlantic City leads to a drunken marriage between our charming bad boy Noah and the energetic Rosa. What begins as a precarious arrangement to fix personal problems quickly escalates into an emotional rollercoaster that hooked me from the start.

The backdrop of their small hometown only complicates the story, as they have to navigate the challenges of pretending to be the perfect couple for a wedding they didn’t plan. The tension heightens with the press watching their every move and secrets from the past bubbling to the surface. Witty banter and eye rolling moments had me chuckling for this couple.

Noah has had feelings for Rosa for a while now, but never had the opportunity to act on it. And he knows Rosa never wanted to be part of the media circus, so friend zone is it!
It was only intended as a temporary solution, but the bond between the main characters deepens in unexpected ways.

The pacing is well balanced, with a mix of laugh-out-loud scenes and poignant reflections on love and commitment. The added tension from external forces trying to drive them apart kept me flicking my kindle pages way past my bedtime!

Ultimately, "Resisting You" captures the complexity of modern relationships, highlighting how love can blossom in the most unlikely circumstances.

The author delivers a satisfying story that strikes a perfect balance between funny and emotional. It’s perfect for fans of contemporary romance, this book is a reminder that sometimes the best plans are the ones you never make.

If you’re looking for a romantic escape filled with charm, laughter, and the unpredictability of love, “Resisting You” is definitely worth picking up!

Tropes:
Marriage of Convenience
Friends to Lovers
Actor x Psychologist
Small Town
Sweetest Grand Gesture

It felt so good to be back in Maple Grove! I’ve missed the Tripp family, and seeing Noah finally get his HEA was incredibly sweet!

Noah and Rosa have been best friends for years, and despite Noah’s efforts, they never dated—until one drunken night in Atlantic City when they end up married! While Rosa initially wants an annulment, they both realize that staying married could actually benefit them. They agree to a one-year marriage of convenience, but Noah has other plans—he's determined to make Rosa his for real.

Noah and Rosa were honestly adorable together. Yes, their story moved quickly, but given their long-standing friendship and the tension that had been simmering between them, it made sense that they "fell" so fast. That said, I do wish we got more glimpses into their shared past to really feel the depth of their bond.

Noah was such an amazing husband. He paid attention to the tiniest details about Rosa, doing everything he could to make her feel loved and cherished. After everything he’s been through, he deserves love and happiness.

I really loved Rosa as a character—she’s kind, warm, and has such a pure heart. But I do wish she trusted Noah more. I completely understood her initial hesitation, but once she agreed to give their marriage a real shot, her constant second-guessing of Noah and doubting who he was became frustrating. I wasn’t even mad that she went along with Kristen’s plan, but the other times she gave up on Noah just didn’t sit right with me.

Noah’s final plan to win Rosa over was so WHOLESOME! 🥺😭 It was quite literally perfect. Still, I wish Rosa had been the one to make a grand gesture instead. She was the one who left, so I would’ve loved to see her fight to win Noah back.

I'm so happy they finally got together and decided to support each other throughout everything!💜

Rosa repairing her relationship with her father was heartwarming. All those years of misunderstanding 💔 I just wish we got more bonding scenes between Noah and his brothers too. The Tripp family coming together to support Noah was so beautiful—it made my heart full!

I honestly can’t wait to return to Maple Grove—hopefully with Callie’s story next!

Honestly a super fun read - but I cant say I loved it that much as I hated all the events that led to the 3rd arc and the arc itself!

I loved the elope- drunk marriage setup! And the fact that Noah had a crush on Rosa but respected her rejection and backed away? Respecting boundaries. Oh yeah
Early on Rosa had me hooked- that 'husband you forgot your wife' line? Loved it.

I loved the first 40-50% of the book but then it slowly went off the rails. Maybe it’s because I had high expectations for this trope, but it just didn’t deliver.
I loved the small town romance and the fact that Noah was a Hollywood star who starred as vampire (You bet I was picturing Damon Salvatore ) and the whole family part was lovely.

But I wish the issue of her overbearing parents would've been resolved. She talked to her dad but not with her mom. And the resolution and grand gesture after the 3rd arc? I wanted it to be initiated and done by Rosa! I need more participation from the FMC's side.
overall this was one fun and enjoyable read.

Thanks literallyyourspr and Katana Collins for providing me an ARC of this book

As a TV star, Noah Tripp faces numerous challenges, but he's learned to navigate the spotlight and the constant recognition that comes with it. Nevertheless, he's yet to figure out how to capture the heart of Rosa, the woman he's secretly loved for years.

Their friendship has always been solid, but Rosa knows exactly how damaging fame and public image can be. She’s seen enough to want no part of it, which makes her resistant to taking their relationship anywhere beyond friendship. That’s why their accidental marriage is such a perfect catalyst—it forces both of them to navigate not only the consequences for their careers but also the emotions they’ve both been avoiding.

What I loved about this story is how natural their relationship feels. The slow-burn tension and unspoken longing build into sizzling chemistry that’s hard for either of them (or the reader!) to ignore. Beyond the romance, the book delivers heartfelt moments with sibling banter and support, found-family warmth, and some beautifully resolved family hurts that add depth to the characters.

This is more than just a fun, steamy romance—it’s also about trust, vulnerability, and choosing love even when it feels risky. By the end, I was fully invested in Noah and Rosa’s journey, and their heartwarming HEA left me smiling.

📚ARC Review: Resisting You by Katana Collins📚
•Rate: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

✨My thoughts:
This was my very first book by Katana Collins and honestly, I can definitely say it was really good. The writing flowed nicely, the characters were well written, and the whole vibe of the story was sweet, fun, and catchy. There was a tiny situation that I think could have been presented better, but overall, the story kept me hooked from start to finish.

Rosa & Noah—oh, they are just so cute together. Did they have problems? Yes. Did they need to work on their communication? Absolutely. But what I loved most was watching them go through those struggles, realize what truly mattered, and find the happiness they deserved. It was refreshing to see both of them acknowledge their mistakes and be willing to admit them.

I also really enjoyed some of the side characters, especially Noah’s family. They added so much warmth and personality to the story. Because of them, I’ll probably head back and read the other books in this series—I’m pretty sure I’ll love them just as much.

Overall, the book was a sweet, heartfelt, and engaging and I definitely recommend. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

This book was so good! It’s the fourth book in the series but I didn’t realize that until AFTER I had finished the book. I didn’t feel lost or that I had missed out on anything.

I loved these characters so much! He had loved her from the sidelines for YEARS but she kept telling him no when he asked her out but he didn’t know why.

He finally gets her to tell him some of the why while they celebrate their best friend’s getting married but not all.

Then they wake up the next morning married and confused on how to go forward. They make a pact to stay married for a bit to change his career trajectory and to boost hers. That pact includes not being intimate with each other or anyone else…. We all KNOW how that turns out 😂😂

So without giving the whole plot of the dang book here I will say that I really really enjoyed these characters and their soft but true love for each other.

He finally got to be with the girl he’s been pining over for years and their relationship is so beautiful and sweet.

I will totally have to come back to this world as his family seems super fun!

When Noah decided to attend his friend’s wedding in Vegas the last thing he expected was to return home married as well. He has always had feelings for Rosa however due to the notoriety of his career he didn’t believe they were destined to have a future together however now that she is his wife the one thing he does know is that he plans to keep her.

Even though Rosa has feelings for Noah she wants nothing to do with the attention that being with him would garner. That decision is no longer hers to make especially as they find themselves dealing with several outside forces that will make it even more challenging to handle the situation they find themselves in.

This heartwarming story finds the perfect balance between humor, family and a love that only becomes stronger when they face obstacles together.

Noah has always been interested in Rosa but her fear of being in the limelight again, thanks to his acting career, prevents her from agreeing to dates with him. But fate intervenes, and they end up in a marriage of convenience where Noah hopes to win her over.

While they soon break their own rules, and feelings turn real, they are unfortunately forced into difficult circumstances due to various reasons. My heart ached for them in those scenes where they were clearly in love for each other, but forced apart.

Thankfully, all is not lost though, and I really loved how things were wrapped up in the end. I also can’t wait for Callie’s turn next.

I had such a good time reading Resisting You by Katana Collins! This story had me hooked from the start. One drunken night, one fake marriage, and one very real problem: falling in love. 🥂🐶💍
I loved the chemistry between the characters and the mix of humor, steam, and heart. The small-town drama, the family dynamics, and yes… even the rescue pup, made this such a fun, bingeable romance. It was an entertaining and emotional read that gave me all the feels.

A cute read with a fun story! Famous actor Noah has had a thing for someone in his friend group….but she keeps turning him down. Rosa’s life revolves around growing her career. Being a psychologist is not an easy job but she loves it. She has an interest in Noah but his life is so different from hers. When these two get drunk in Vegas and end up married…everything changes. When these two decide to stay married everything changes…in the best way. These two through drama, laughter and everything in between, find out that they are made for each other. This is an adorably funny read with fun characters telling a heck of a story. This was my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more of her books.
