This is essentially a book of lists to use when shopping for foods that don't provoke a sharp glycemic response. The lists themselves are fine, there is small amount of additional information regarding reading labels, for example. My doctor suggested I get it when I learned that I have type 2 diabetes.
I think the book is pretty dated, it was published in 2003. I would like a bit more information, such as the gylcemic load for the foods on the lists, but since it is meant to be a pocket guide, you can't cram too much into it.
The only thing I really did not like was the section on reading a food label. The labels (good vs bad) are so small that I needed a magnifying glass to read the contents and I did not think the book did a good job of explaining what to look for in a label.
