Here are my thoughts about Burned Deep:

- The plot has a great potential but it's poorly executed. Sometimes it gets redundant (like she just mentioned something, after a few pages... it was mentioned again.) and there's too much sex scenes on it. I skipped a lot of pages because of that and I lost my interest. I wish it focused more on the actual conflict.

- Dane Bax was a good hero but Ari Demille sucked as a heroine. Dane is a sexy, alpha guy but I wish there's more back story about him. Ari w

Now in the email I got offering me this book said it was the next thing since Fifty Shades of Grey. I've not actually read FSoG, but I've read enough about it that I get the idea. This book didn't make me think of FSoG other than there's a seriously alpha, bossy billionaire and a younger girl. Dane was smoking and over the top hot, but Ari was just blah. I'm at 70% thinking this is going to be a cliffy (it's not) or it's gonna wrap up way too fast. Trying to figure out the

Emotionally battered Ari, the wedding planner, meets Dane Bax, brooding businessman, when she sweeps in to literally make sure the wedding she has planned goes off without a hitch when the groom and his groomsmen have gone missing right before the ceremony.

Ari doesn't like to be touched and Kyle, the best man, is a bit touchy and flirty when his best friend Sean is getting married. Ari finds them in the lodge's bar doing shots for liquid courage before saying I Do. It's when she is trying to ge

I enjoyed the book for the most part. There was a lot of sex but that did not make the story better. It kind of detracted from the actual story. The plot was a little good but could have been better. Dane and Ari met and there was instant attraction. He was intense, myste

This was an okay book for me. I really don't have much to say about this book. There is a lot of sex in this book and I mean a lot. Nothing wrong with that of course and they were pretty hot graphic scenes. But just a warning incase you're not into that. Let's see, I read the most of the book but I did skim a bit. I really just wanted to get to the end to find out who was the villain. This story has a bit of everything hot sex, kidnapping, u

Erotic romance may be the red-headed stepchild of the book industry, but that's no excuse for lazy writing, cliched and repetitive descriptions, bad editing, underdeveloped plots, or flat and lackluster characters. All I'm looking for is a well done erotic romance. Why does that seem so impossible to find these days?

Burned Deep was a sexy as sin romantic suspense novel that kept me glued to my Kindle as I read it from start to finish in one sitting. What boggles my mind is that I initially passed on this novel while trying to keep my review schedule light during the holidays, but when the boss lady asked for help filling in, I figured it was meant to be. And I was so right because I thoroughly enjoyed it. Fox combines a whole lotta sex with a good amount of danger and intrigue, far more than you would expec ...more

This book fits right in with the current contemporary trends, such as Hardwired, Crossfire and The Blackstone Affair. What these series all have in common is fast paced stories, alpha men, heady sex scenes and strong women.
Ari meets Dane when he rescues her from some unwanted male attention while working a wedding. She can’t help but notice the enigmatic stranger who captivates her. A few meetings later and Ari has put her wedding planning business on hold and is working for Dane. He is opening

♥ My Thoughts: Dane was pretty much amazing, I love his alpha-male but sweet tendencies. He tends to be overprotective most of the time, but I adore the way he took care of his own. Ari, the girl he saved from unwanted advances, was his. He knew this the first time he saw her. There was chemistry and sexual tension between them. How I wish this was a dual-POV. It would have been greater if we get to be inside Dane’s brain. He has mysteries and secrets that surround him that you’d be dying to kno ...more

I almost DNF'd this weak Fifty Shades ripoff several times, except that I make a point to finish ARCs so I can do an honest review.

The similarities to Fifty Shades are all there: Dane, the brooding billionaire (of course) and Ari the sensitive young woman who is afraid of love because her parents never found love. There's no BDSM but Ari even giggles once to Dane, "Are you going to take me to your playroom?" Ugh, no. Dane falls head over possessive heels for Ari instantly, although I never unde

The book starts off fantastic and continues in such a fashion. I loved that the male lead, Dane is a dominant, dark, handsome and sexual male who is attracted to the young woman, Ari, who works at a hotel as a wedding planner that Dane is at. Something about her sparks this intense attraction, an instant chemistry. Dane finds out alittle later that she put an application in at his hotel and from there the story truly takes off with a twisted tale about two people who were brought together by fat ...more

Burned Deep by Calista Fox is one romance that will burn deep into readers hearts. Calista Fox has beautifully woven together a story of two very different characters who somehow share a passion strong enough to light fire. I was intrigued the moment I started reading. The main female character is strong outside but just how strong is she on the inside once a certain hottie makes it his desire to undo her completely. Burned Deep is hot, suspenseful, and the best novel I have read. I highly recom ...more

I fell in love with this book from the very first chapter. I was completely sad to see it end but loved the way it ended.
Ari is a wedding and event planner trying to make a name for herself. She has been doing well from all the friends of people she planned events for. But at one particular event she met a man that she could not get out of her mind. He also offered her a job which was something she dis not turn down. Not at all familiar with this author, I decided to give the book a try after the description really caught my attention. It is the start of a new series. Ari is the focus of the story. She is a small scale wedding planner just bursting on to a larger scale with more exclusive clientele. When a stranger manhandles Ari inside the bar of her current wedding venue, Dane steps in. Ari never expects to see Dane again, but through several twists of fate, she ends up taking a position directing events f ...more

5 Stars are not enough!

This is an amazing love story with all the excitement of a mystery/suspense thriller. Dane and Ari both fall in love in a breath-taking moment. No matter how much Ari fights it, she is "burned deep" by the passion and mind boggling emotions they both share. Neither one has ever felt this way about someone. As Dane tries to protect Ari from harm, they both fall irrevocably in love. All that is left is to admit their love, forge a deeper understanding and move ahead fighting

This was a good book. It was intriguing, suspenseful, steamy, fun, and had quite a few twists and turns along the way. This is a new author for me and I am so glad that I took a chance because I found a gem. This book grabbed me from the first page and I didn't put it down until the very end.

This is beginning Ari and Dane’s story. From the beginning, these two have an undeniable connection and sizzling chemistry. Both have their own pasts and scars that they wear on the inside but all it

That This book had a LOT of love so many that I got a little bored, but the story itself wasn't terrible. I do worry about Dane's ability to just buy Ari and everyone in her life off. There does seem to be a certain amount of danger around Dane, and I'm not sure how I feel about him not keeping her in the loop when his business is clearly interfering with her life.

I like Kyle and I like Amano and I like Ari's father (

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, suspense, and twists & turns, and heartbreak.

This is Ari and Dane’s story. Ari is a planner. She is now working at Dane’s hotel. He wants to keep her close. The chemistry with these two is off the charts. Things are about to get crazy. With Dane’s past coming for him can he prove his love to Ari while also protecting her from the threats? Will Ari put up with Dane’s protectiveness? Or will she fight him on it? When Ari

I've been putting off writing this review to try and get my thoughts in order as I have mixed feelings about this book. I honestly expected to love it, but sadly I didn't. I'm struggling to pinpoint a reason why I didn't love it though, it just didn't make a strong impression on me. I've read other reviews where people absolutely loved this book, so it seems like the problem lies with me rather than the book - we just weren't a good match.

There are times Ari has to knock Dane's ego down a peg or two, or just let him know to be more humble about it, “don’t look so pleased with yourself,” I teased. “You could pretend you put a little effort into leaving me dazed and spineless.” Dane could be so sweet, "his head dipped and his lips grazed my temple as he murmured, “I’ll keep you warm.” My heart fluttered once more. He added, “You can even rub your feet against mine if they get cold.” I'm thinking there's another book coming because ...more

This was a sizzling hot story that grabbed me early in and didn't let go! Dane Bax is power, dominance, influence, and sexy as hell. When he sets his sights on Ari DeMille both professionally and personally she doesn't stand a chance. He offers her the opportunity of a lifetime, event manager for the new highly luxurious hotel he is opening. He also let's her know in no uncertain terms that he wants her too. Dane captivated Ari from the first moment their eyes locked. This is the kind of connection most of us want and would wait a lifetime to achieve. But the truth of the matter is that its rare. Dane meets Ari and things just explode. She sweet, innocent, and more than he can hope for. Dane was sexy, wealthy, alpha dominant. He wanted more of Ari. Once he gets more someone else does not like it. Things begin to wreck havoc on his and Ari's lives. There were twist and turns and a damn cliffhanger en ...more

I wanted a smutty romance, and that's exactly what this is. I am not a fan of the archetype of the possessive, hyper-alpha male (a la Christian Grey), which Dane definitely was, without the kinky business. I guess I'm still stuck on Jamie Fraser (from Outlander). The moments I liked the most were the action and intrigue moments, which proves I really am not used to reading strictly romance novels.
