Major letdown. This book may be historically accurate, but it is coloured way too much by the author's - clearly American - background. All US endeavours are labelled as successes, everything the Russians do is 'Eastern Propaganda'. I hoped that the focus would be on the science and the history of space travel, rather than the writer's opinion about it. There is no science to be found in this book, which disappoints me, but is not required from a history book. An view that is as unbiased as possible is required, but the extremely annoying convicition of everything Soviet made me put the book down halfway through. Space exploration is one of the most beautiful subjects one can write about and it should unite mankind, rather than tear it apart.
