He sees past her walls to the woman beneath.

She’s terrified he’ll leave like the last man she trusted.

Together, they’ll discover that real love is worth the risk.

TANK

I’ve spent a year respecting Dragon’s boundaries, watching K19’s brilliant communications specialist avoid me like I’m radioactive. When we’re finally partnered to investigate cyber attacks on defense contractors, I get my chance—until the case explodes into government corruption and her CIA ex-partner walks back into her life. Now I’m fighting to expose a conspiracy that threatens American lives while proving to the woman I’m falling for that not every partnership ends in betrayal.

DRAGON

After my former partner at the CIA chose saving himself over our mission—and me—I rebuilt my life at K19 Sentinel Cyber with one no workplace relationships. But investigating coordinated attacks with Tank Abrams is breaking down every wall I built. His steady competence makes me want to trust again, just as my past returns to threaten everything I’ve found. Now I’ll have to decide if what we’re building together is worth risking my heart again.

Tank and Dragon

Excellent storyline with all the twisty, angsty, and surprising revelations. The suspense was point. I really couldn't tell exactly whom the "bad guys" might be for certain, as many inuendos or hints leading me in different directions, much the same as the mains were being fed conflicting accounts, and using the preconceived feelings of Dragon could, and did, sway everyone.
All my emotions were firing throughout this journey, along with some pithy words, as I couldn't stop reading until the much awaited and happy sigh HEA.
While the missions won't stop for this newly evolved spin-off group of the original and still fantastic K-19 group headed by Doc and Merrigan who made a cameo appearance, these two do get their happily ever after in between missions, for now anyway.
Happy to report it sounds like even more new generations of Little K-19er's are about to be implemented or implanted. Always a good feeling right there.
Now I can hardly wait for Atticus in all his smurky glory to get knocked for a loop as well. He's a great guy to have at one's back-always. He deserves some love too.
The books in this series are all stand alone, and can be read as such--with NO cliffhangers.
HEAs for the mains with completed missions.
They do include all team members with new characters as fits. May reference earlier events, and use other K-19 teams as back-ups, but can still be read individually.
I suggest to start at the beginning of this, or any series in order to feel like a part of the whole K-19 Family.
(Which truthfully goes back to the very beginning with the first books in the Butler Ranch series. These give a great insight as to how intricately this author's mind plots to loosely, yet believably connect most, if not all, her writing works. Yet each book can stand alone, but so very much better together)

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Thrilling, Heart-Pounding Masterpiece!

Heather Slade has once again proven she’s the queen of romantic suspense with Code Name: Tank! From the very first page, I was hooked—swept into a world of espionage, betrayal, and a slow-burn romance that crackles with intensity.

Tank and Dragon are a perfectly matched pair—both fierce, guarded, and deeply scarred by their pasts. Watching their connection evolve from mutual respect and simmering tension into something undeniably powerful was nothing short of exhilarating. Slade masterfully peels back their layers, making every glance, every touch, and every hard-won moment of trust feel electric and earned.

But this isn’t just a love story—it’s a high-stakes rollercoaster of suspense. With government corruption, blackmail, and shadowy operatives lurking around every corner, the twists and turns kept me guessing right up until the final page. The reappearance of Dragon’s CIA ex-partner adds a gut-wrenching layer of emotional complexity that had my heart in my throat.

Slade’s writing is sharp, emotionally rich, and effortlessly cinematic. She delivers not just pulse-pounding action, but characters with depth, chemistry that sizzles, and a love story that feels authentic and hard-won.

Code Name: Tank is a riveting blend of danger, desire, and redemption—a must-read for fans of smart, sexy, adrenaline-fueled romance. I couldn’t put it down, and I didn’t want it to end.

Bravo, Heather Slade. This one’s a knockout. 👏

If you've been paying attention in previous books of the series, you'd see that Piper Drago AKA Dragon and Patton Abrams AKA Tank have been circling each. When the 3rd book, Code Name Grit concluded, we knew these two were going to be assigned a mission. We just didn't know the wild ride that one would be. As always Ms. Slade writes suspense that keeps you guessing right up until the end. When I thought I had somethings figured out I was wrong. That's what I love in suspense novel!
Both characters have a past, Dragon especially finds it hard to trust the men she works with. She has good reason, as that basically ruined her CIA career. Yes, she was cleared of the situation, but she chose to leave The Agency for the eh private sector, K19.
Grit has his own baggage, but has always been drawn to Dragon, tries to covertly observe her when they are in the same room. Atticus will tell you Tank's not exactly covert :) There's an angst between these two that really forms a slow burn. They both struggle with wanting to give into their attraction, and Dragon, especially being afraid of getting burned.
As always, I love the cameo appearances of characters from previous novels. Doc and Merrigan visit the camp in this one, as well as a meeting with Money McTieren.
While the fourth book in the series, this can be read as a standalone. There are very few books that Ms. Slade writes that missing a book or reading them out of order totally confuses you. I look forward to Atticus' story next

Code Name: Tank is a thrill ride right from the beginning. Tank and Dragon have been dancing around each other since she first joined K19 Sentinel Cyber. That is, until they are partnered together on an assignment dealing with cyber attacks on defence contractors. As mystery and intrigue grow, so does the chemistry between Tank and Dragon.

Heather Slade is an author who will take you on a roller coaster ride with her stories, and just when you think you have it figured out, she throws in a couple of curveballs that you don't see coming. She is a master at combining intrigue, romance, and creating characters with depth.

I could not put this book down from the moment I read the first few pages. I needed to know what was going to happen next and what Tank and Dragon would have to go through to get their HEA. All I can say is what an amazing thrill ride of a story, that at the same time was very heart-warming. I am excited to see what Heather has up her sleeve for the next book in the series.

Heather Slade really goes all out in Code Name: Tank. She has penned a plot filled suspenseful romance filled with twists, turns and misdirections that will keep you riveted and wanting to keep reading to find answers and what comes next. Piper Drago AKA Dragon and Patton Abrams AKA Tank have been circling each other for a year. She's a loner, standoffish and built walls around her that scream do not touch. But, she's also wicked smart and an astute investigator at the top of her game. Tank is no slouch when it comes to doing his job either. He's been interested in Dragon since she walked into the K19 Sentinel Cyber Team HQ. But he respects her boundries. Now they're paired on an investigation and have to find a way to work side by side and at least be friendly collegues. Corruption in the highest echelon of government, sophisticated cyber thefts, a traitorous ex partner and some really unexpected, heartwarming, emotion filled moments involving family and so much more makes this series addition an enthralling read.

What a story from the first page!! So many twists and turns with government corruption, espionage and sabotage. Tank starts falling for Dragon from the moment she walks into K19 Sentinel Cyber's headquarters but she is determined to ignore him and keep her distance. Once these two are forced to work together the chemistry comes out and Dragon has to figure out if she can fully trust a partner again. These two have to figure out who is transferring government contracting money quickly while fighting against unknown individuals. Things are moving forward when Dragon's past comes back and now she is battling her gut instincts and past betrayals. Can these two find all the answers, stay alive and trust each other to build a relationship? This book can be read as a standalone but always better to read the series for the interconnected people and backgrounds.

When Conspiracy Meets Romance
The two must work together to uncover the truth. Feelings are involved—but she’s been betrayed before by someone she once loved. Can she trust herself again?
Piper, a.k.a. Dragon, and Patton, a.k.a. Tank, are investigating cyber attacks on defense contractors and a trail of stolen funds. What they uncover shakes everyone to the core. To stay ahead of the criminals, they’ll have to rely on each other completely. But trust is the one thing Dragon swore she’d never give again—can she risk it now?
As past and present collide, the truth becomes more dangerous than either expected. If you like your suspense twisted and your romance complicated, this story is one to check out.

Love is….

Tank and Dragon. Work colleagues and now more. Both great with intelligence and working to solve a major financial and national security issue. Add in a past betrayal on Dragons side and Tanks family on th other we have a story that gives love acceptance angst and danger. The guilty insider was not too surprising, but some of the connected threads at the end included a refreshing twist. The two build a great friendship before making it more and I love the openness which they address the physicality. Tanks family was the best part and I love that the parents are called Candy and General. Their love and support of their family and showing up to show Dragon she was family was a highlight. Another great addition to this fascinating world!

Slow Burn

Tank is book 4 in the K19 Sentinel Cyber series. These agents may spend more time at the computer but they are still Alpha all the way through. Tank and Pipers story show their vulnerability and strength all at the same time. I loved their chemistry and loyalty. This is two people we can related to with past trauma’s and the inability to want to trust again.. To finding the right person who can make you decide it’s worth the risk. As their assignment heats up they have to face it all to have a future.

I have loved reading the K19 world for years and continually countdown the days until the next release.

Code Name Tank was a suspenseful story filled with twists, mystery, and corruption. Dragon has been avoiding Tank since she arrived as Sentinel Cyber. Tank has been attracted to her from the moment he first laid eyes on her, but he respected her boundaries. Then came the time they had to work together on an assignment. The boundaries started to disappear. The case became muddied when Dragon's past reappeared. Can Tank and Dragon find the answers? Tank and Dragon make the perfect couple. Heather Slade created another brilliant story.

Tank and Dragon have been work colleagues for a while. He was immediately attracted to her but she's not trusting men after what her last partner did.
Now they are working together to investigate money moving from defence companies, illegally.
Who's causing this? Can they catch them in time? Will Dragon learn to trust Tank? He's extremely supportive but rather than try to do things for her, or stopping her do things he helps her, unlike the last man.

Another great read in the series from Heather with a great twist.

Code Name: Tank

Wow! What an entrancing story. This story is about Dragon (Piper) and Tank (Patton). Tank was smitten with Dragon the moment she walked into Central Command. Dragon was guarding her heart because of her last love's betrayal. It's interesting watching this couple deny their feelings for each other but when they finally did, their relationship exploded. The ending will definitely put tears in your eyes - both sad then happy. Glad this couple found their happy ending. FANTASTIC job Heather! I would recommend this book!

I loved Tank and Dragon’s story!

Tank saw Dragon walk in a year ago and she caught his eye. When Dragon walked in he caught her eye. She has avoiding him ever since. She can’t mix work with pleasure ever again. Then they get paired to work together. She requests they keep it professional. Can they? They face ultimate danger together working on this mission for the government. Her ex is involved and the person who stuck up for her for her job in the government. There’s danger all around them and they come face to face with it. There’s an HEA at the end of it all.

The heat keeps getting turned up as Heather Slade embarks on her next book in the SS world! Tank and Dragon make the perfect pairing. Dragon shows Tank there’s a more serious side to life while he shows her that there’s more than just work. The suspense has many twists and turns before the reveal hits. I absolutely loved this book! Dragon lived up to every expectation I had of her. Can’t wait to see what Atticus brings us (I see a lot of humor coming our way)!

I have enjoyed getting to know Tank in previous books, and I am excited that he is finally getting his match! And what a match! Piper is a little skittish and trust is hard for her. But Tank goes slow, is consistent and respects her needs, standing at the ready. I really loved getting to know Tank's family and seeing how they wrapped Piper in, becoming the family she needed. There are some surprise twists and unexpected events that will keep you guessing. Great Read!

Another great chapter in this series. Ms. Slade always provides a mystery, suspense and slow burn relationships. Tank and Dragon are very calm when they are together, when they are not avoiding each other, LOL! Great story and great intrigue that has everyone working as hard as they can to stop the threat. The treat intensifies near the end and it will take all their skill and luck to make it through the obstacle. I love this series.

Tank and Dragon make a great couple. Dragon is so guarded because of a past workplace relationship that went so wrong, and Tank is pretty convinced that he will always be single. But when these two work together on a case, their walls start to fall. The story here is the main driver, and I am interested in finding out how these ‘thefts’ are occurring, but the trust building between the characters is fascinating. I hated for this one to end!

Tank and Dragon’s story was sweet as Tank worked his way under Dragon’s defenses to show her how a real man who appreciates a woman should act. The story was interesting with lots of details and intrigue as only Heather Slade can write. There were some unexpected twists, some humor, some scary times and lots of love from Tank’s family and the team. And Tex is always a bonus! Another great story!

From dog t to trust

For Tank, it was love at first sight. Dragon threw up a stop sign even though she was attracted to Tanks quiet strength and confidence. A series of unauthorized money transfers, an intrusion of someone from Dragon's past and an unknown danger comes along to threaten the tender ties Tank and Dragon have formed. Will their ties unravel forever? Read. Discover.
