Rosie Goodwin Omnibus: The Bad Apple, No One's Girl, Dancing Till Midnight

Rate this book
Rosie Goodwin's first three novels, and some of her best loved work, is now available in an omnibus edition for the first time. The Bad AppleLouise Hart can take no more abuse from her callous husband Paul. One cold December night in 1959 she can take no more. She and her son Davey escape to her mother. But Paul is in trouble with dangerous men. Unable to pay his debts, he blackmails Louise and those who love her, keeping a shadowy presence in their lives. Even the arrival of Charlie Fox, a stranger who becomes a true friend, cannot guarantee that the future will be safe...No One's GirlJane Reynolds seems a devoted daughter, but her father's cruelty has left her afraid to love. After his sudden death she becomes a virtual recluse, leaving her small farm only to go to market. But everything changes when she finds a young runaway hiding near her cottage. Alice, too, is unloved and in pain, and as the pair become friends, Jane begins to wonder whether she could offer the girl the loving home she's never had. But dark secrets in both their pasts threaten everything Jane hopes for...Dancing Till MidnightGrace Collins, orphaned as a child, was raised by her severely religious aunt. Starved of love, she falls for the first man who shows her affection, Barry Swan. Then Grace falls pregnant. They marry and, for a while, Grace knows happiness. Barry adores her and is a wonderful father, but something is missing. When Barry takes her dancing, the gap seems to be filled - until she meets Philip Golding. He sweeps Grace off her feet but as he draws her into a web of deceit, she discovers that all that glitters is not gold...

Before becoming a writer, I was a Placement Support Worker and foster carer, and worked in the social services department after completing a teacher training course. Many children have joined my family over the years. I still live in Nuneaton, where many of my books are set, with my husband, Trevor, and our beloved dogs.

I was thrilled to discover that I'd become one of the top 250 most-borrowed library authors in the UK, and would like to thank all of you who have taken out my books over the last few years! I love meeting my readers and am always pleased to hear from you. I hope you will all continue to get in touch and please do sign up for my newsletter!

I have read 5 books of Rosie's books now and get so involved with the story that after I have finished the book I find myself wondering what the character is up to now.

I have lived each of the 5 books I have read. Now to decide which to read next. Decisions decisions

Loved this omnibus!

Could not put this book down, I read all three in 5 days, all of them were tearjerkers and brought a lump to my throat but dancing till midnight made me cry! Rosie Goodwin bought the characters to life and I felt like I was there amongst them. Well done Rosie, I can't wait to get my teeth into another of your books!

My absolute favourite author.

I am working my way through all Rosies books - this omnibus was my eighth read. I am yet to find one that doesn't keep me completely hooked. A wonderful storyteller who takes you on a journey with every character in every book.
