Flick works for a clandestine government agency in charge of rescuing women in trouble. She is tired of being behind her desk so when a new job comes, she has to do it.
Zamira is trying to live a new life and leaving her past behind, but when she is kidnapped by those who destroyed her family, everything is back.
After reading the author's debut novel, I wasn't expecting this at all. It is so totally different and yet so good.
The story had me on edge from the beginning. It has drama and suspense, and very subtly, romance. The beginning of something really good, of real love.
Even though sex scenes are not bad in romances, this is a clear example that to build up a good story, there are more things involved.
I enjoyed and loved the story from beginning to end.
I totally recommend this book and hoping a new one coming soon.

Another great book from Valden Bush. This could be ripped from the headlines. If governments would allow it. A corrupt government and the man trying to expose them. The daughter leaves after her mother is killed and starts a new life. Zamira is kidnapped after the plane she is on is forced to land. The government wants her father to shut up. Flick is a field agent with Dept 6 in the UK. She was moved to an office after her partner was killed. Flick decides to take the assignment to get Zamira out of prison. This is a well written book. I can tell how much research had to go into it. From the start I was pulling for Zamira and Flick. They both have had devastating loss and just trying to keep going. The descriptions of the country of Tarinor were spot on. I could just see the details. Valden does great with descriptors. And for me there is not a dull moment. I highly recommend.

Due to her activist father Zamira is abducted off her plan to a Iran like country,. The leader wans to use her as a hostage to make him surrender.

Flick, a operative for a British military org, is ordered to rescue her, along with a team of operatives. Sadly, their Blackhawk copter is shot down, killing all the team but her.

(Why would a covert ops team fly a Blackhawk to sneak in? They're known for use by US and allies.)

Flick saves Zamira, who's weirdly ungrateful, then they have to trek out, her being a pain in the ass all the way.

Final fight, wrap up, romance at the end.

Even 3. Zamora was bloody annoying through most of it, and the romance felt forced.

Very good read

Suspence, romance, escaping from a unfriendly country. The characters are well written and main characters are very likable. There are sad parts and scary parts. Very good read. Thanks
