I’ve read/listened to all 44 Jessie Hunt books and they have been going downhill for a while now. This was by far the worst book of the series, with poorly written dialogue, doesn’t fit how the characters have been written/developed over the course of the series and it seemed like it’s only goal was to jump on the “white people racist and bigoted” and “toxic masculinity “ bandwagon🙄. The new narrator over the past few books is also a horrible match and the characters all sound completely unserious. This reads like AI garbage and I’m done with this ridiculous series direction.

I don't usually write reviews. I just felt like even though this was an easy read like the rest of the series, she just gave up on the Ash Pierce aspect. In the previous book, Ash was taking on an identity of one of Jessie's neighbors and then in this one she's dead. She touched a little in how it happened but not how she got to Kat and Ryan. A little disappointed in this book. It just seemed rushed.

Blake Pierce has really found her character with Jessie Hunt. I’d love to see this series made into a TV show. There’s always an unpredictable twist at the end.

cannot believe that Sam Goodwin is no longer with us. Every time you think Jessie will catch a break, she doesn’t get one. So sad!
