I really liked the book but I felt like as if half of it was missing. I was expecting to read on about Kwan following his mate's advice on changing the rules under his reign, saving lives, having an image change as a king, dealing with his underlings' reactions and so on and so forth, but it never happened. That was kind of disappointing to me.

I admit I liked this book better then the first, though the book was more sex than plot. Which left me wanting. I felt like this book had a lot more potential that wasn't tapped. Plus, it was too short for any real essences. Furthermore, the sex scenes were very wordy and with very little happening overall. I found it boring and often skip areas because of the monotonous feel of the description. I noticed that some actions were repeated which was distracting.

Now, I like the pairing of Alex and Kawn. They were great together and I was satisfied with them. Their conversations reminded me of more of poetry or a fairy-tail like feel. And I have to wonder is that was done because of the content of the book, because as soon as either man talk to anyone else that flair was lost and they seemed more real. I don't know if I was the only one that noticed that change but that is what I observed.

I enjoyed the beginning of the book while it started to become less interesting as the book progressed. I just wished there was more. Overall, I like this book as a easy read, but I wasn't infested in the characters or the plot in the world they lived. Would I read this book again? Probably.

Alex and his brother Zander are bought before the king to before return to their uncle. Alex steps up and defends his older brother that he would return so his brother can stay with his life mate. Kwan realize that Alex is his life mate and he can not return him to his uncle, to be sold as a sex slave. Kwan takes Alex as his life mate. While Alex sits next Kwan when he place his judgement on his people, he can't to feel that all this is wrong. All the advisers and warriors look at him with hate. This is a must read and good to read the series in order.

Oddly sweet. And by the end I feel that this was a lot better than it let on.
The middle consisted of a lot of sex, so I almost got bored, but then things turned towards important aspects again, and while the resolution to that was not explored further than a realization, Alex’ progress throughout the story made sense to me.

I still wish the writing had seen more editing. So many of the mistakes require no more than simple fixes. I just don’t get why no one seemed to care. Sure, these are shorter volumes, but they’re beyond mere drivel. They deserve some more attention.

This is the second book in a fascinating science fiction romance series. This story features the king and his new mate. Well-written and entertaining.
