Teacup, Belle's super talented puppy, makes a daring rescue in the middle of her performance! Children ages 2 to 5 who love the Disney princesses and the Palace Pets will love this Little Golden Book.
This book annoyed me. I chose it as the book where we'll introduce fairness and equity to my daughter. Here's an idea...when a huge storm comes and destroys much of the village, the last thing the inhabitants want is for the dog of a princess to do tricks. They want stuff to rebuild their homes. Perhaps a little cash from the princess for the poor people? Nah...dancing dog it is! The best bit was when the dog was 'rewarded' at the end for helping all of the townsfolk. The dog was given a GOLD medal. Had the dog or the princess had the foresight to donate the medal to the bookshop owner, rather than have it as an adornment to a canine, the shop owner would easily have had enough cash to rebuild the shattered store.
Of course, this is Disney and I'm not supposed to read this stuff into 'kids stories' but what a much better version for the princess and pup to help the poor by benevolence.
A nice story time book read. Nice illustrations and plenty of words per page. I wish the illustrations were drawn in the same style as the movie though. Princess Belle makes an appearance and she's gorgeous as ever. ✨✨✨✨✨
