When Aunt Butty gets invited to a fabulous party at the eccentric estate of Sir Rupert Relish, she naturally brings her best friend, Louise Pennyfather, and Louise’s pet pooch, Peaches, along. What could be more fun than fresh country air, a darling English village, a few cocktails, and someone dancing atop a grand piano!
But the shenanigans turn serious when Butty stumbles across a body in the begonias. All signs point to the murderer being one of the party guests. Question is which one? The contortionist? The palm reader? The rich heiress?
It will take all Butty and Louise’s wits (and a séance) to reveal the killer before they strike again!
Enjoy this delightful Aunt Butty Mystery, a warm and funny cozy mystery set in 1930s England.
Shéa MacLeod has dreamed of writing novels since before she could hold a crayon. She totally blames her mother.
Her favorite poem as a child was ‘Jabberwocky’, and Her favorite authors were Agatha Christie and Edgar Allan Poe. Which probably explains a lot.
After a six year sojourn in London, England, a dearth of good donuts has driven her back to her hometown. She now resides in the leafy green hills outside Portland, Oregon where she indulges in her fondness for strong coffee, Ancient Aliens reruns, lemon curd, and dragons.
Because everything's better with dragons.
Shéa is the author of the SUNWALKER SAGA (a fast paced urban fantasy series with a kick-ass heroine published by Montlake) and DRAGON WARS (a post-apocalyptic series with dragons)as well as the Cupcake Goddess novelettes.
The author of this book has consistently produced fun, interesting stories, and this story was no exception. The characters are familiar and fun to read about. The plot is straightforward and the premise is finding out who killed the stranger found after the party and why. I did not see the killer coming. I definitely recommend this story.
