On the night of my graduation, I snuck into his room, heart racing, finally ready to show him the crush I’d kept hidden for years. One touch, one moment, should’ve been everything. Instead, he went off on me, shredding my pride and leaving scars that never fully healed.
He’s my best friend’s older brother. The man I swore I’d never forgive.
And now? He’s the man on the other end of the phone, begging me for help.
Walker didn’t plan on raising a baby alone, but Eli changed everything. And against my better judgment, I answer his call. Because the truth is, no matter how much I tell myself I hate him, my heart never learned how to stop wanting him.
But being near him again is dangerous. His secrets run deep, his walls are higher than ever—and mine are crumbling faster than I can rebuild them.
If I let him in this time, it won’t just be my pride on the line. It’ll be my heart.

✨I DEVOURED this book in a day! I couldn’t put it down. This is the third book in The Empire State Of Love series and it was probably my favorite. The witty banter between Walker and Jessie had me laughing so much. The chemistry between these two was fire. ✨Walker held on to a secret for so many years that prevented him from going after Jessie. And that secret was shocking! Did not see that one coming. I am so stoked for the next book in the series, His Confession. ✨If you like enemies to lovers, billionaire romance, and best friends brother with spice definitely add this to your TBR!
💕FAVORITE QUOTES💕
“Motherhood is an entire world of contradictions.”
“Walker is not only brave enough to match my fire but daring enough to burn even hotter.”
“If I could have you, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second. You’re not just the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen; you’re the kind of woman who ruins every other woman for me.”
Walker has spent years keeping a secret that could shatter Jessie’s heart.
Nine years ago, on the night of her high school graduation, Jessie finally showed Walker how she felt, but he pushed her away. Since then, they’ve danced around their feelings, pretending they’ve moved on.
Everything changes when Walker comes home one day to find a woman on his doorstep, holding a baby. The same woman he once had a brief fling with. Before he can even process what’s happening, she hands him the baby, says he’s the father, and walks away.
What follows is a mix of chaos, laughter, and heart. Watching Walker fumble his way through diapers, bottles, and sleepless nights is both funny and heartwarming. Desperate for help, he calls the one person he can trust, Jessie, his sister Ava’s best friend, and the woman he’s never stopped wanting.
The chemistry between Walker and Jessie is magnetic, a slow burn filled with heat, frustration, and longing. But the secret Walker is keeping threatens everything. He’s also hiding the truth about his new role as a dad from his bosses, adding another layer of tension that keeps you hooked.
This story is about love, forgiveness, and second chances. It’s tender, emotional, and full of real, raw moments that make you laugh one minute and tear up the next. Jessie and Walker’s journey feels genuine — messy and complicated, but so full of heart. 💕
If you love small-town romance, found family, and stories of redemption that make you feel, this one’s a must-read.

Meh (possible spoilers ahead) I had some big issues with this one.
I was expecting some BIG secret reveal on why H pushed h away when she was 18 and he was 24. You go the whole book being teased about this big secret.
Honestly, it was a huge let-down for me. The reason H has pushed h away all these years is because years ago, he overheard h’s parents fighting and he overhears that h’s dad is NOT HER BIO DAD! Really? That’s the reason? 🙃 whomp, whomp, whomp! 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Oh yeah, then we have another part of the book where h (who is 18 at the time) sneaks into his room while he’s asleep (he’s 24) and she proceeds to give him oral. He is still so asleep that he calls her another woman’s name. 🤨 Naturally, when he realizes who she actually is he flips his shite and gets very angry at her. Who can blame him? That’s crossing into SA territory. None of this was cool.
So yeah, that’s why h has hated H for 9 years. Because he was mad she forced herself on him without his consent. JFC this woman. I guess this is all excused because secretly H had a “thing” for her even though she didn’t know.
So present time, H gets a baby dropped off by some woman who doesn’t want the kid. He doesn’t call his sister…or parents….he calls h (they both “hate” each other) BOTH H and h are attorneys. Not one of these professional attorneys ONCE says “hey, we should probably get a quick DNA test to make double sure you’re the dad.” DNA is never mentioned once. H’s last name is already listed on the baby’s birth certificate. How is that even possible when they are not married? They are both attorneys, you’d figure one of them would suggest filing paperwork with the courts asap establishing H as dad/full time parent and making sure you get all rights to the mom removed.
Anyway, these 2 start boinking pretty soon. Personally, I think he just needed a babysitter. 🤷♀️ He’s loved h for a long time, but he was known for sleeping with everything. Ridiculous
Age gaps don’t usually bother me, and the author did explain that nothing happened with these two until she just turned 18. BUTTTTT there were moments in his POV that said he loved her long before the night she gave him oral. It was a very grey and murky line in this book.
I can not get over how good this book was! The emotion packed into this book could be felt in every chapter. The push and pull between Jessie and Walker, the major surprise for Walker, and the battle for love was perfect. The writing in this book was beautiful as it really captured every feeling the characters went through.
Walker is a corporate lawyer by day and a single dad by night. When an unexpected surprise shows up at his door, he calls the one person he vowed to never pursue again. When him and Jessie start spending more time together, at his place and with their friends, all their feelings for each other begin to resurface. However, Walker bears a secret that could unravel Jessie’s life. Walker’s not only sexy as a dad but he’s never not willing to worship Jessie. He cherries the ground that she walks on. This man was not afraid to grovel and beg for what he wanted.
Jessie is a custody attorney who helps place children into new homes away from abusive parents. She’s loving, down to earth, and full of love towards Walker. She fights so hard to ignore what she’s feeling towards him because of a rejection ten years ago. Her and Walker were so passionate and vulnerable with each other. It was almost as if they hadn’t been apart for ten years. When Jessie’s world begins to fall apart because of a secret, Walker is there to pick her up and love her like no other.
4⭐️ 2.5🌶️ 🔥Billionaire Romance 🔥Single Dad 🔥Enemies to Lovers 🔥Second Chance 🔥Best Friend's Brother 🔥Forced Proximity 🔥Dual First Person POV
His Redemption is a great billionaire romance. Walker is a corporate attorney whose life is his work. One day after getting home from work early with plans to work more at home, there’s a knock on his door. A woman with a crying baby is standing in his hallway. She’s someone he saw a few times a couple months ago. She tells him the baby is his and she can’t do it anymore. Walker is stunned and has no clue what to do with a baby. He can’t call his sister because she has her own baby to take care of, so he calls Jessie even though she hates him. Jessie and Walker have history. She can’t stand Walker, but comes over anyway. Jessie quickly helps get the baby settled and agrees to help him get everything he’ll need to take care of his daughter, Eli. She ends up staying with him for a week to help get a routine and hire a nanny. Walker’s firm just signed a pharmaceutical company to represent them in a class action suit. He realizes that with Eli, he can’t take on the workload. This is a case that would make his career and struggles with that decision. Old feeelings that Jessie thought she’d buried and gotten over with are even stronger than they were 10 years ago. Jessie is the one woman Walker wants but can’t have because he knows a secret that would wreck her. He tries to fight the attraction, but decides he would rather have her and tell her the truth than stay away any longer. While I enjoyed the writing and story, I didn’t love it.

A Few Favorite Quotes:
“My heart beats erratically in my chest at the sight of the woman I swore I could never have, soothing a baby I never knew existed until tonight.”
“I may be willing to give him my time, but I’ll never give him the chance to hurt me. Not like last time.”
“Baby, I might just come in my pants the second I get a taste of your pu$ $y. I’ve dreamed of licking your c* n t far too many times.”
His Redemption by Nicole Baker is a captivating addition to the series, delivering the long-awaited story of Walker.
As Walker's story is intertwined with Jessie, who is his sister's best friend and with whom he shares a strained ten-year history.
As nine years ago, on the night Jessie graduated, she finally gathered the courage to tell Walker how she felt about him—only for Walker to dismiss her harshly, leaving Jessie humiliated and swearing she would never forgive him.
But when Walker returns home one night to find an ex waiting for him, holding a little girl and claiming he's the father, Walker, unsure of what to do and with a crying baby in his arms, calls the one person he knows he shouldn’t... Jessie.
This creates an explosive forced proximity scenario, as Walker begs Jessie not only to help but to stay with him until he can get a handle on things.
However, neither of them expects the intense chemistry between them. As Jessie is no longer the easily dismissed eighteen-year-old she once was, and being around her—and vice versa—has become dangerous for both. But Walker’s walls are higher than ever before, and Jessie's are crumbling faster than she would like, putting her heart squarely on the line.
Yet, Walker has good reasons for maintaining such high walls and keeping his distance from Jessie.
And with undeniable chemistry, great characters, and the perfect mix of sweetness, emotion, and heart-stopping moments, this book was a profoundly satisfying and delightful read that I found hard to put down. I would happily recommend it to all.
My thanks to TAA. All thoughts expressed are my own. ☺️
Walker Harlow - Workaholic lawyer, works hard and plays even harder, and now also he's a single dad! It's time to step up and move outta his comfort zone.... once the panic has passed! When his daughter is unceremoniously left on his doorstep, he ends up calling the one person who hates him the most for help. Jessie, also a lawyer is Walker's younger sisters best friend (Eva in Book 2 - His Obsession) and had her heart crushed by Walker almost a decade ago, but now despite her better judgement, is willing to help Walker and the adorable baby Eli get through the first few days and his life adjustment. Old feelings resurface, staying away seems harder and harder for Walker but he's hiding a secret that's not his to share that will break Jessies world. A little angsty, a little emotional (lots of tears to be had from both Walker and Jessie) and a lot of steam - as to be expected from Walker!! He knows what he's doing...inside the bedroom, just needs a little help outside of it with baby Eli! Love this group of ridiculously successful New York friends and their leading ladies!
I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own
Oh my goodness I love Walker and Jessie! They both act like they hate each other both for different reasons. Both very intense heartbreaking reasons. Walker has held on to some secrets for years and Jessie has held on to the heartbreak he inflicted on her. Walker suddenly becomes a father with a doorstep baby and the first person he thinks to call his Jessie. Jessie as much as she can’t stand the guy shows up for him when he needs it the most. Walker is lost and up to his eyeballs in stress. Working as a powerful lawyer trying to score the biggest case in his career while juggling fatherhood is becoming a huge problem. Jessie is there the whole time helping him navigate his new reality. They start to act on the their intense feelings for each other all the while Walker knowingly is keeping a crazy secret that’s about to change Jessie’s life and not in a good way. When it all comes out their worlds come crashing down around them. They come together in the end with the help of their close friends and get their HEA after years of secretly loving each other 🖤💕🖤 what a great book this one is!!
This is the third book in this amazing series, and this is Jesse and Walker’s story. Walker is Jesse’s best friend’s older brother, who she has crushed on for years, but when she has the courage to confront him about her feeling, he broke her heart and humiliated her. Now 10-years later, Walke phones Jesse for help, when he becomes a single dad to his baby girl. Can Jesse forgive Walker? This is a well written easy to read, emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, tension, heartbreak, enemies / lovers, secrets, redemption, humour, witty banter, second chances, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, twisted, and unpredictable, heartwarming page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
5 ⭐️ 📕:His Redemption by Nicole Baker Why you’ll love this book!! Billionaire Romance Single Dad Enemies To Lovers Second Chance Romance Best Friend’s Brother Forced Proximity Nicole Baker did it again she writes amazing books this series has been amazing!! This is Walker’s story. I ate this book up in a day! Walker is a workaholic and now’s how to let loose but he didn’t expect to become a dad and this is where Jessie comes in. Walker and Jessie have a past she confessed how much she likes him years ago and he turned her down but now he needs her help to take care of his baby daughter. The steam from these two when the scenes get spicy where hot as heck Walker definitely knows what he is doing in that department!
If you like billionaire romance, enemies to lovers with second chances and forced proximity, then I suggest reading this book. It was an emotional, heartfelt read. And there's so many layers and depth in the storyline. Plus the main characters, Walker and Jessie, were fantastic. These two have crazy chemistry and their banter is lovely. They are well suited for one another. And as far as this book goes I will say that once I started it, I read it in one sitting because that's how much I was into the story.
Thanks to the author and the author agency for an advance copy. My opinions are my own and freely expressed.
When I tell you I ate this book up and it left zero crumbs.. I mean it.
Walker & Jessie have this strained relationship after something happened 9 years ago and try to avoid each other as best as possible which is hard when Jessie is best friends with Walkers sister!
But when Walker is suddenly left with his daughter he knew nothing about, he has no one else to call but Jessie!!
THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THESE TWO 🥵
She isn’t that 18 year anymore, so when that changing room scene happened I was obsessed. 👏🏼
I loved her relationship with Eli and how she just knew when he needed help and turned up!
The phone call scene 👀
But the fact I didn’t see the secret being what it was.. I was shook! But it was so sweet that he kept away from Jessie all this time because he was scared of him accidentally telling her and flipping her world upside down. But I’m so glad he told her in the end so they could finally be today!!
I will say, I wish this had a lil bit more world building such as details of his apartment etc! We get some but not a lot!
Jessie, a fiery family lawyer never thought she would fall for her best friend’s brother but when his world turns upside and when he finds out he has a daughter Jessie steps in to help.
Walker a billionaire corporate attorney chasing approval from his toxic parents he’s forgotten who he is until Jessie reminds him.
The chemistry between these two 😮💨🥵
The fact I didn’t see the secret being what it was I was shocked. But it was sweet that he kept Jessie away all this time because he was scared of accidentally telling her
Easy read, but the writing was a little choppy. The plot line was there but could have been executed a lot better. The main reason for her being angry at him was so dumb and I think she was more at fault than him at this point. Even though these characters were older, some of their actions were a bit too immature.
It didn’t really have much progress or character growth, and felt like all the “typical” things you should include in this trope was just thrown in for the sake of it.
I really wish more time had been given to edit and flesh out the plot better.
All opinions are my own. Thank you to the author and The Author Agency for the arc.
This series has been soo good! I was super excited for Walker's story after seeing the tension between him and Jessie in book 2
I knew something was going on but all the twists and turns and surprises made it such a good story!!
Walker stepping up and battling work and secrets and love... it was just soooo good. Jessie is a girls girly and I love all that sass!! She's got a good heart and she's strong enough to put her foot down!
But also why are there not more men's restrooms with changing tables?!?!?! I read this and was like EXACTLYYYYYYY!!!! LOL
I was so happy for their HEA and hopefully in the other books we get to see if Jessie continues to grow her connection with her family!
His Redemption by Nicole Baker is a captivating installment in the series that fully delivers the long-awaited story of Walker, instantly hooking the reader from the first page. The novel centers on Walker Harlow and Jessie, two people bound by family ties—Jessie is best friends with Walker's sister—but separated by a strained, ten-year history.
The tension between them stems from a devastating moment nine years ago. On her graduation night, Jessie finally worked up the courage to express her long-held crush on Walker, only for him to harshly reject her, shredding her pride and leaving emotional scars. She swore she'd never forgive the man she had secretly wanted for years, but her heart never learned to stop wanting him.
Their strained avoidance is shattered when Walker is suddenly left alone with a daughter, Eli, he never knew existed. With nowhere else to turn, he is forced to call the one person he knows he shouldn't: Jessie. Against her better judgment, Jessie answers his plea for help, setting up an explosive forced proximity scenario.
The chemistry between these two is absolutely scorching, immediately apparent when a certain changing room scene happens. Jessie is no longer the eighteen-year-old girl who was easily dismissed, and being near him again is dangerous for both of them. Walker's walls are higher than ever, and Jessie's are crumbling faster than she can rebuild them, putting her heart squarely on the line.
Beyond the romance, Jessie's immediate and instinctual connection with Eli is incredibly sweet; she just knew when the child needed help and showed up. The story is full of heart-stopping moments, like a particularly revealing phone call scene, and the central secret behind Walker's coldness is truly surprising and sweet. He kept his distance all that time out of fear of accidentally telling Jessie the truth and flipping her world upside down. The reader is entirely relieved when he finally tells her, allowing them to truly be together.
Nicole Baker is a brilliant writer who keeps the audience completely obsessed, eating up every page. While I personally would have appreciated a bit more world-building detail, such as specifics about Walker's apartment, the emotional depth, incredible chemistry, and surprising secret make this a deeply satisfying and unputdownable read.
Disclaimer: I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This 3rd book in the Empire State of Love series was my first book by the author. While it’s clearly part of a series, I was able to read it as a standalone fairly easy. The story has scenes with the couples from the first two books with just a few casual mentions of prior events.
The story was entertaining and held my attention. I was a little surprised with Walker’s reactions to having a baby dropped off at his penthouse door by a woman he had a fling with. As an attorney and a man from a very wealthy family, I expected at least some mention of proving paternity and custody.
The relationship between Walker and Jessie is complicated with a long history of attraction and hurt feelings. It’s clear these two were very close previously, but Walker’s rejection 10-years prior was devastating to a young Jessie. Walker remained in Jessie’s life as her best friend’s older brother so she was well aware of his revolving door of women.
Walker finally shared the big secret he had been keeping from Jessie for 10 years around the 85% mark of the book. When it was revealed I was truly expecting something much more significant than the actual secret ended up being. The secret was described as something Walker felt he couldn’t keep from Jessie and be in a relationship with her and not ‘put himself in an early grave’ for keeping.
After learning what the secret was and comparing it to what Walker’s deep feelings for Jessie were it seemed a little anticlimactic. Jessie is definitely blindsided by the information she learns, but to me the 6 year age gap when he rejects her (she’s 18 to his 24) was more a factor.
I loved Walker’s journey from being completely clueless and overwhelmed with baby Eli when she’d handed off to him to how devoted a dad he becomes within a short timeframe. He definitely becomes comfortable being a daddy, and his reaction when he encounters a situation where a restaurant doesn’t have a changing station in the men’s restroom shows his growth as a parent.
I received a free ARC from the author and The Author Agency; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
His Redemption by Nicole Baker is an emotional, steamy, and beautifully layered enemies-to-lovers romance about second chances, found family, and learning that love is worth fighting for. 💼❤️🔥
Jessie, a fiery family lawyer with a sweet tooth and a soft spot for babies, never thought she’d fall for her best friend’s brother — especially not arrogant, work-obsessed Walker. But when his world turns upside down after discovering he has a baby daughter, Eli, Jessie steps in to help. What starts as tension quickly turns into something deeper as they navigate sleepless nights, messy diapers, and the walls Walker’s built around his heart.
Walker is the kind of hero who makes you ache. A billionaire corporate attorney chasing approval from toxic parents, he’s forgotten who he is — until Jessie reminds him. Watching him learn to be a father and rediscover his purpose was so satisfying. And the way he worships Jessie? Chef’s kiss. Their chemistry is electric — from steamy shower scenes and FaceTime tension to whispered “Good girl”s and grey sweatpants moments that deliver everything. 🔥
Nicole Baker balances the spice with so much heart — exploring abandonment, self-worth, and family in a way that made me tear up (twice). The girl gang scenes with Eva and Kylie, and the guys’ proud support of Walker, added warmth and humor that made the story shine.

Walker Harlow is a hard working law partner on his way to the top. His future is looking bright when the work grapevine is chattering about a landmark case that would put his name in the history books if he would win. Everything is going perfectly. Until it isn't.
Jessie Turner is Walker's sister's best. She is also the woman that he has always wanted but could never have due to circumstances that happened ten years ago that drove a wedge into their budding friendship. Walker has a secret that if found out would destroy the world of those he loves.
When life (or a past hookup) drops a baby in his lap he has no choice but to call Jessie for help, even if it's the last thing he wants to do. Jessie grudgingly agrees to help him with the baby for a few days.
As they grow closer together the secret that Walker holds onto hovers on the horizon. If Jessie finds out will she ever forgive him? Will Walker be able to redeem himself or lose everything?
To be honest, I didn't really like Jessie to much in the beginning. She seemed very self centered. As the story went on, she grew on me. She was just doing what she thought was best to keep her heart safe. Walker was just the best daddy!
I really did like this book. It was fast paced and I enjoyed the way the story progressed. I liked this little group of friends. They were there for each other.
Story:⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice:🌶🌶 (Walker has a dirty little mouth)
Walker and Jessie's story was so much fun to read. They have so much chemistry with each other. I love that Walker the ultimate workaholic did everything in his power to change for his unexpected surprise. He had to learn a lot of hard lessons along the way but he rose to the occasion every single time. Walker finds out he has a daughter and literally knows nothing about babies. So who does he call? Jessie the one woman he has wanted his entire life but can never have. He is hiding a very big secret from her that will test them in ways that neither saw coming. I was not expecting that plot twist. The secret he was hiding was huge. The author did such a good job at keeping you from realizing the secret until it was revealed. I had no clue what kind of secret it was but it was a doozie. Jessie has loved and wanted walker since they were kids. They had a connection but he pushes her away because he knows something that will hurt her. Instead of blowing her world up, he spends year denying what he wants to have to keep from hurting her. He still hurt her whether he realized it or not. The whole story was about finding redemption but also finding and keeping a love that was worth more than anything. I have really enjoyed this series so far. I cannot wait for the next book from this series. This author really keeps you on your toes and wanting more. I could not help but to devour this book. It was hard to set down.

Jessie and Walker’s rollercoaster romance
This story follows Walker and Jessie. He always kept her away and she never got over her broken heart. But now he needs her, despite her hating him. An unexpected surprise left Walker no other chance than to ask Jessie for help. And despite everything Jessie is a caring person and helps him. Which brings them to a close proximity for a certain amount of time. But their time together is for both nothing easy. Jessie never got really over him and still is attracted to Walker and has some feelings for him. Walker tries his best to stay away from her, because there is a big and heavy secret he knows about that he has to keep but that also has him keep his distance too. But his wires are thin and along the way Walker breaks his promises. Can they come back from that or are they meant to never happen? It was really heartbreaking how Walker wanted to protect Jessie and deny them both the love they secretly have for each other. And how Jessie turned to Walker when her world seemed to turn around. Their happy end was hard fought and not easy, but they finally did. Not rushed, not blindly but with care and forever.
This lacks depth, is more soap opera, but I liked the last 30%. The writing is often superficial, sometimes corny. (Note: ditto isn't spelled 'dido'.)
Walker is left with his 1 month old baby, dropped in his lap with no warning. He also really wants a mega case at work and can't deal with a baby at the same time. So he calls Jessie for help because his only other female contacts are hook-ups. Jessie whom he painfully rejected at 18. Yes, what she did then was wrong. But, 8 or 9 years later (!), she still loves him and had to develop a hateful attitude toward him to protect her broken heart.
Turns out he wants her too but there's some secret reason he can't act on it. She's apparently not too sad to strip for him when he takes her clothes shopping. This is where I started skimming.
This author always over-sexualizes the stories. He can't wait to lick her c***, etc. Then we meet his cartoonish mother. His mother actually nags Eva because her 6 week old daughter is wearing 'cotton'. “I guess it’s fine. At least we’re not at the club. Everyone’s grandchildren come in designer clothing, even if they’re only six weeks old.” His father has dominated & bullied him all his life.
The author really doesn't understand newborns or 6-week old babies. His parents "watch her bouncing my daughter, who is standing on Eva’s knees." Six-week old babies can't stand!

Walker and Jessie «Second chance» Enemies to friends to lovers Single dad Close proximity (nanny for the week) Millionnaire Little sister’s bff
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥
Walker is a power attorney who is driven by power and money. Jessie is an attorney for good driven by doing what is right. Jessie fell in love with Walker 9 years ago, a love she felt was mutual. She took her shot with WLker 9 years ago and was tood very clearly they would never be, she was too long and Eva’s bestfriend. In enters a 9year hate between these two.
Current day, Walker’s life is turned upside down when a one-night stand turns up on his doorstep with a one-month old baby girl and says she cannot be her mother anymore, leaving her with Walker with literally a 5 minute discussion. Besides his sister who has her own one-month daughter, there is only one other person he would trust to help…Jessie. Reluctantly, she shows up.
The yearning from these two is hot. How seeing them with Eli opens up something both of them have been ignorning for years. When they finally give in, it is raw and pure. But it also feels temporary. Jessie knows Walker is keeping something from her. The 3rd act break was coming due to this, and his truth rocks Jessie’s world upside down.
The ending felt rushed. But otherwise, all their moments with Eli and with their friends were perfect.
Walker Harlow is at the top of his game. He is a lawayer for a big firm and his single living hia best life. Now there is a rumor if a new case in the works that will make his career. Until fate steps in and changes his life completely
Jessie is Walkers sisters best friend. She had a huge thing for him in high school. On the night of graduation she did something that changed their relationship completely. Now she cant stand him.
Until Walker needs her help. He just found out he has a daughter and he has no clue what to do with a baby... and Jessie is the only one that can help him
This story was a good read. I just didn't know if i liked Jessie😬 . I love the part where Walker found out he was a dad and didn't know what to do. I loved seeing him change from the single carefree guy to the responsible dad. Walker has also held onto a secret, which was the reason why he pushed Jessie away all those years ago. And just when it looks like they might be over their issues, the secret is just waiting to explode....
Loved the story, loved the characters and seeing their change throughout the story. Definitely a Read to add to your TBR☺️
His Redemption is the third story in the Empire State of Love series and is a well-written story. I loved the characters and the plot.
Jessie had always crushed on her best friend's brother, Walker. Jessie had finally worked up the nerve to do something about it. Instead of reciprocating her feelings, he rejected her. She then had to move on. He has remained in her life because he is her best friend's brother.
Jessie is now a family lawyer. Walker is a very busy and successful attorney. He finds out that he has a baby daughter, Eli, he had never known about. The mother can no longer care for her so now Walker has to figure out how to take care of her. He has options but he decides to call Jessie for help. She comes to his rescue and helps him get what he needs to care for little Eli. Jessie is about to leave when Walker asks her to stay the weekend to help him. Jessie stays and then they spend their time caring for Eli and dealing with the chemistry between them.
I loved how strong and sweet Jessie was. She was so good with Eli. I loved how funny Walker was when he realized he was now a father. I also loved the chemistry between him and Jessie. Amazing story. I look forward to the next one.
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy for an honest review.
His Redemption is book three in the Empire State of Love series and is the story of Walker and Jessie. This is a best friend's brother, forced proximity, second chance, enemies to lovers, single dad romance.
This story is about forgiveness, second chances and love. It is emotional and full of real, raw moments that make you laugh and tear up next. Jessie and Walker’s journey feels genuine - complicated and messy, but so full of heart.
The chemistry between Jessie and Walker is palpable and although it is a slow burn, it is full of heat, longing and frustration. Walker has kept a secret from Jessie for nearly ten years about his reason for rejecting her and it threatens everything they share. This story has angst, emotion, enough spice to make you sweat and real moments of panic as Walker navigates being a single father.

ARC Review: Thank you to Nicole Baker and The Author Agency for sending me an advanced copy of His Redemption to read and review
This series gets better with every book. Walker is a workaholic jerk in the beginning until his one-month-old daughter, whom he never knew existed, is left at his door. Then he’s left to ask for help from the one woman who hates him. What she doesn’t know is that for him, it’s always been her, but he’s been keeping a secret that could destroy her, and he's stayed away to protect her. The secret that Walker had been hiding kept me going because I really wanted to find out what he had been holding in all this time.
As the weeks move on Walker and Jessie interact and spend more time together taking care of the baby. It was interesting to see why Jessie hated Walker so much and how things were handled when the truth about that came out. I also loved it when the tension between Walker and Jessie finally broke. I loved Walker’s character development and how he went from bachelor, workaholic, playboy to dad who makes it home in time for dinner.
His Redemption is single dad Walker Harlow and Jessie’s heartwarming and at times heartbreaking story. It’s book three in the Empire State Of Love Series and it didn’t take me long to become invested in this couple and their journey. Jessie has crushed on Walker since her teens but nine years ago when she finally got the courage to tell him how she felt he rejected her in front of everyone. From that moment on she knew she could never forgive him. Walker has just found out he has a daughter and he has been left to bring her up alone and in his heart he knows there is only woman he can trust to help him…..problem is that woman hasn’t forgiven him. So will Jessie come to Walker and Eli’s rescue when he pleads for help. This is a well written emotional journey that touched me on so many levels, I smiled, I swooned as I cheered this couple on.
