Found this one to be a little bit creepy.

Simple, graphic pop-up book with animals hiding surprises in their pockets. I like the last page a lot - the kangaroo has a joey in her pocket!
Was a HUGE hit in story time.

This lift-the-flap, pop-up book introduces shapes and colors.
A child’s first fascination with books is simply that it is a hinged object. The lift-the-flap feature in books introduces an additional hinge with peek-a-boo surprises. Before beginning the book I warned that each page has a surprise. I asked if we should open the page. "YES!" they said." "Watch out!" I said, and opened the first page. A dog's head popped up. "What is this?" I asked. "A dog!" they said. "What does a dog say?" I asked. "Woof woof" they said. And so forth through the book.
Today we played a guessing game with the lift-the-flaps. I gave clues. For instance, "the purple circle is something we play with that bounces and rolls." The children's excited reply: "a ball!" And so forth.
Each animal had something in a pocket. The last page was a kangaroo with a baby joey in her pocket. This was a perfect segue into today's story theme "Australian Hop About".

Fun book for PreK-1st grade. Covers bot hcolors and shapes. Kids love to guess what's in the pockets.

Bright and cheery, simple and sweet. This is a flip out book. Lovely for storytime for all ages.
