Well the banters are hilarious. Especially with Anna. She is fiesty and sassy. She has this humor on life. I love her. She is kick ass heroine. Grant is super perfect. So perfect that i do not believe he is too good to be true. Sometimes i wonder how the author can create such perfect hero.
The story itself is very simple. Not so much angst and not so much twist. Grant's past is OTT. Just because of that, he stays away from marriage?? That is unbelievable. I wish Grant can stay perfect.
Overall i enjoy this book very much.

I really liked this Christmas romance! The heroine has a great job. She is a wedding planner who specializes in unusual weddings. A nudist wedding and a paintball wedding are just two examples. She is a terrific character and makes the whole story worth reading. 😊

When I say read, I mean skimmed. I did think this had slightly more meat than the prior 2. But they are so so short.
Anyway, I was reading to get to this book. (Where they just up and tell you about their military names. Smdh.) It wasn't the book my friend was looking for, so I'm quitting here. I do like Fenske's style and it will work well if she digs a bit deeper

3.5 - "Nice helmet." Stars!
Book three in the Front and Centre series hits the spot if you are looking for an easygoing romance, with likeable characters, great verbal sparring and sexy times, with the added bonus of re-appearances of previous characters from earlier books.
Tawna Fenske has a writing style that the reader ends up fully immersed in. Her characters are so engaging that you can't help but experience their emotions with them. Anna and Grant are both commitment leery, happy for the here and now, neither believes they are looking for a relationship.
Thrown together after Grant unwittingly assaults the photographer that Anna has bought with her to assist on the weddings she is planning whilst in Hawaii, centipede bites in unusual places, and fancy dressing while rescuing cats from trees are just some of the scrapes the couple get themselves into whilst together.
"Should I get the battery?"
This book takes a slight step towards the emotive, when the reasoning's behind Grant's relationship reluctance are revealed, as well as his efforts to prove to Anna that he can be the man she now needs him to be.
Another great book from this author, Tawna Fenske has added herself to my 'Can't wait for your next release' shelf with ease, and I just hope that her next release is the fourth book in this series, I have a feeling Schwarz Patton, may just steal a little piece of my heart when we get his story.

I kinda liked it. It was harlequiny but that's what I needed after a fucked up day, an easy, quick read to numb my mind a bit. It was steamy, though. And I did like the characters. I've already read one of the books from this series and will deffo read the other two.
And then I think I'll dive into sth else from this author.

2014 has seen Tawna Fenske leap onto my auto-read author list; I love her writing style and her Front and Center series has been a solid favourite. And whilst Marine for Hire and Fiancée for Hire had me laughing my arse off at the fabulous dry humour and sexy shenanigans, Best Man for Hire pulled more of an emotional punch; Marine and baby of the Patton family, Grant and wedding planner, Anna may not generate quite as many giggles, but they still have a heat filled natural chemistry.
Together they are perfectly suited; they're attracted to one another and it's not long before they're exploring each other whilst Anna is on the island overseeing several weddings, including Grant's sister Sheridan's. Granted I didn't find them quite as amusing as Sheri and Sam or as naughty as Mac and Kelli, but they bring a couple of particularly funny moments and some sexy action. As they get to know one another, their vulnerabilities surface and whilst Anna is as blunt and truthful with hers as she is with pretty much everything, Grant's are a little more surprising and led to moments which hurt a little.
And with these moments setting the groundwork for Schwarz Patton's story, I have no doubt that it's going to be a stellar finale. Best Man for Hire may not be my favourite of the series, but Grant and Anna are a couple to love and their journey is a great addition - I doubt you'll be disappointed. Meanwhile, I'll just sit here, impatiently awaiting Schwarz' arrival...

So disappointed! I loved the first 2 books in this series. The heroine- Anna was great. She was honest, strong, and funny. Here come some spoilers! I didn't like the hero of the book. He was secretive, but doing what he could to get Anna to share her thoughts and stories. The reason for his bad attitude was the fact that he slept with his brothers fiancée. I could have forgiven him if it was an anonymous one night stand. But no!!! He knew who it was- not when he left the bar with her, but before they had sex. He had a great, loving relationship with his brother, but went ahead and had sex with the fiancée because she was giving him a bj when she told him who she was. I would never trust this hero! A bj is all it takes for him to betray people. He could have stopped what she was doing and kicked her out, but getting a bj makes him stupid and weak. He is a Marine and will be traveling for work- how can Anna ever trust him to be faithful? He is very attractive and probably gets many bj offers. Just gross! I wish the author didn't add that bit.

I loved this story! The chemistry between Anna and Grant was amazing. This book has everything I need in a book - humor, likeable characters, steam, and a sexy military man. Grant is hot. This is the first book I have read in this series but I can't wait to go back and read the others. I really enjoyed this one and recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance!

This was one of my anticipated reads of 2014 after having read and fallen in love with the other Front and Center reads, and my god, Tawna Fenske never disappoints with another hilarious romance featuring the third (Or was it fourth?) Patton sibling, Grant Patton and Kelli's (Fiancee for Hire) wedding organizer friend, Anna Keebler.
Hello, Mr. Perfect.
Most of the books I've been reading features male leads that are just so wild and bad, and exhudes the dominant alpha male feel. Though Grant is basically an alpha male and is pure deliciousness and everything masculine, he's an absolute sweetheart and definitely the "go-to" guy in times of need. Althroughout the book, he's basically a boy scout stuck in a grown man. Not only is he a soldier with badass military counter-intelligence skills (Meaning, he can get you to spill your deepest darkest secrets... immediately), he's also got an amazing eye for photography. Grant Patton is obviously the whole package -- He's gorgeous, smart, a total sweetheart and an artist at that. If only guys like him really existed (Hah!)
She's a wild, wild one.
If you've read the previous book (Fiancee for Hire), you'd figure out how much of a wild girl Anna is. A total burst of creativity, and a girl with no filter. Originally, I thought she would be type of girl who was kind of naive and very happy-go-lucky but instead, she comes off really blunt and pretty much straight to the point when it comes to everything. I couldn't relate to her confidence though, but I loved it, because she was just so similar to her friend, Kelli, since they used to be roomies back in college. On the other hand, she was predictable and at the same time, she wasn't. There were times I could figure out her character, but her bluntness was like a shield to how her mind truly works.
Twists and turns, and dark alleys.
The story didn't generate the same feel as the first two books, which were my favorites but I can't deny that this was also a great read. And Tawna's humor is still awesome as ever. I absolutely love how the author can make a perfect balance of drama and humor, all packed in one book. A lot of twists in this book were very amusing and kind of gave me the shudder, especially after finding out about Grant's dark secret. It wasn't exactly a major shock but it appeared to be something I least expected.
I'm excited for the next book, since Schwartz, the last Patton sibling had already been introduced and of course, it's obvious he's going to be the lead in the next book... although his leading lady might be... dot, dot, dot?

I love this series and I love this author. Ms. Fenske made my Top 10 New to Me authors list earlier this month.

I've thoroughly enjoyed every single book she has released in this series and I think I love this one the most! It's all because of Grant.
"Just so you know," he said "I don't generally condone violence."
"Aren't you a Marine?"
"I specialize in counterintelligence and human intelligence."
"What does that mean?"
"I catch spies, or I get other people to catch spies. I don't kill them. Much."
"That's reassuring."
Grant is a bit less intense than his brother , Mac, and was kind of a breath of fresh air. Scaling a palm tree in a pink shirt...among other things. But let me tell you, when it comes down to it, Grant can get dirty with the best of them. When he lets loose with Anna, it's pretty fantastic. He comes off as a perfect gentleman and he is but he really cuts to the chase when it's just him and Anna. To Anna's credit, she knew she needed to push Grant a little in order to get him out of his perfect gentleman role. I think she knew that Grant was a dirty bird deep down, he just needed the right woman to bring it out of him.
As for Anna? I loved her! She was funny and a bit quirky and she totally owned it.
"Okay, now you're just ridiculous." She shook her head and took a sip of wine.
"Please tell me you've got some sort of hideous fault. A huge goiter or a habit of tripping preschoolers in the mall?"
The whole crew (Sam, Sheri, Kelli and Mac) is back in Hawaii for Sheri (Grant and Mac's sister) and Sam's wedding and I loved the setting. You gotta love the whole Patton clan, even Mama Patton makes an appearance and throws in her (more than ) two cents.
"All my kids are thoughtful," Stella said proudly.
"And excellent shots."
In this one we are introduced to Schwartz, the lone wolf Patton brother and I CANNOT wait for his book. It's going to be another good one.
As always, Ms. Fenske balances humor and passion so very well. I always find myself laughing out loud and highlighting a lot when reading her books.

Why do I insist on reading Tawna Fenske books on public transport? It only ever leads to odd looks because I’m laughing out loud at something I just read and this book was no different. How one author can get so many double entendre and things that are normal but sound dirty into one book is really impressive. But this author has done it again with the third book in the Front and Centre series.
When a book has lines like this that I snorted at you know it’s going to be good. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.
“That’s the other thing—his bookshelves were lined with things like Shakespeare and Plato. How could you ever fart in front of a guy like that?”
One of my favourite things in this book was the humour. How can you not have a laugh when the heroine is a wedding planner who does unconventional aka theme weddings and the hero is a marine who gets shanghaied into being a wedding photographer? It’s not all laughs though. There are some tender moments that will have you melting for Grant faster than an ice cube in the sun.
When Anna accidentally meets Grant at a nudist wedding, yes you read that right. She never expected that one, he would end up being her photographer, two that he was the best man for one of her planned weddings or that three that the chemistry between them would spark so bright and that it would be hard trying to keep her hands off him.
For Grant, Anna is a surprise package wrapped up in sundresses he instantly wants to rip off so he can have her. But since Anna has hired him it’s most probably a better idea to keep his lips, hands and other body parts away from her. No matter how hard it’s going to be.
“Is that a tube of sunscreen in your pocket, or are you happy to see me?” “If I weren’t a gentleman, I’d suggest you squeeze it and find out.”
When the plan to stay professional flies out the window, which leads to an unfortunate incident with a centipede and papaya, they grow closer and start to fall for each other. But both of them are afraid of marriage and commitment. Or so the say…..
“Tell me what you want,” she whispered. Grant shifted his weight on the log, trying to ease the pressure of the hard-on straining against his fly. “You know what I want.” “Duh,” she said, and somehow it was the single sexiest syllable he’d ever heard in his life. “The point is that I want to hear you say it.”
When truths come out and feelings are hurt can these two supposed not marriage types find happiness with each other or will their pasts stop them from moving forward and being together?
Look for the hilarious scene involving picking the best man. The Patton brothers may be serious but sure can give you a laugh. Oh and the scene when Grants mother overhears a conversation between Anna and her sister, priceless.
This book can be read as a stand-alone but once you read this one you will go back for more. Or if like me you have read them all, you will be crossing your fingers we get Schwatz’s book next. Bring on the mysterious Patton brother.

I love this series & the military men!
This series is a perfect mix of alpha men at various ends of the spectrum. One thing Tawna Fenske excels at is creating just the right mix of mean and moody, bossy and beautiful, controlling and captivating.
Anna Keebler finds herself in Hawaii at her latest Wild Wedding she has been planning. Given her penchant for the unusual, her current client’s request had introduced her to a shoot interrupting Marine, and sent the contracted photographer running away from the madness. She was left her high and dry, and photograph lite.
Grant Patton was on leave from the Marines, latest job being the best man for his sister. As well as being very pleasing on the eye, he intercepts, what he perceives, a potentially fatal situation, and winds up offering to be the shutterbug to salvage Anna’s predicament. Grant is also up for the male Mary Poppins award; practically perfect in every way *sigh*.
Unbeknown to Anna, she is also co-ordinating his sister’s wedding, to be held in Hawaii too. We start to be introduced to Grant’s fam, who we know and love, and sit back whilst Grant uses his powers of interrogation and extraction to lure Anna into submission.
I thoroughly enjoyed the fervent foreplay and “oral innuendo” between this couple. Anna was a strong, very likeable character who knew where, when and what she wanted, with bells on. Grant was hiding behind his perfection, obviously, and we are driven through his reveal with humour, sensitivity and animation.
There wasn’t anything particularly different or unusual about his story, but the telling was completely en pointe.

See that face?That's the face of someone who knows she deserved to be threatened because she DNF-ed this book. Yeah yeah. Sue me for DNF-ing this book. I was looking forward to read this because it's Grant's story but I just can't finish this okay?
I find it boring.

Mac & Kelli are still my favorite couple of the series - but Grant & Anna give them a run for it. We have another couple made up of "I'm never getting married" devotees that discover along the way that maybe they really do want to find their happily-ever-after. There's a few heartbreakingly serious spots - but mostly our couple just has a lot of fun getting to know each other.
Anna gets bitten on the butt - literally, and hilarity ensues. Grant works hard to keep up his perfect boy scout image while Anna digs deep to what really drives him. All the Patton siblings (and their equally cheeky matriarch) show up in this one - adding even more fun.
Though, the elusive Schwartz... remains elusive so I'm starting Protector for Hire now.

I have a hard time placing the hero in this book - the perfect veneer is of course, too good to be true, but the moment his secret was revealed, I had an even harder time accepting that sort of weakness. For a man of his (apparent) calibre. As dubiously honourable as we want our heroes to be, even some lines shouldn't be crossed.
The lack of stars is not because the book doesn't shine in every other aspect; I laughed, I found it wacky and quirky but simply struggled a lot with a main character here.

Nope. I am not okay with this. Grant's little confessional addendum to his flashback scene? NOPE! After everything that set him up as this amazing, stand up, loyal, wonderful guy? Nope, nope, nope. I read it and genuinely yelped, "He's lying!" I physically recoiled. It went against everything else we're told about him, pre- and post-incident.
To then have Anna be all understanding and everyone give him a free pass? NOPENOPENOPE!
Loyalty, people, it's a thing. Something this military family is surely quite big on. And twenty-three isn't that damn young, especially not when he'd already been a Marine for however many years. I refuse to accept any of it.

Papayas and Coconuts
This is one of the few times that this series hopper will admit she wishes she'd read the series in order. Don't get me wrong, the book read fine on it's own but there were some things said and character back stories (side characters) I was missing. Guess I gotta go back to book 1 oh darn 😉
I loved Anna she was blunt and direct and admitted to her feelings...a truly open person and that's rare to see. The fact that she was a wedding planner for those with unique wedding requests was a bonus!
Grant really was an all around amazing guy, super kind and caring...being a military man and gorgeous didn't hurt either.
This was a fast romance that had the perfect blend of sweet, steam, and humor to make it an engaging read for me.

As always Tawna Fenske did not fail in her ability to make me laugh out loud especially in the scene involving a helmet, a pink shirt, and a laundry bag…seriously you are just going to have to read Best Man for Hire if you want to know more, but in this book we see her stretch her writing skills a bit more as this story as a more emotional feel to it; that’s not as all bad as I always love watching authors flex their writing muscle. Another member of the amazingly crazy Patton family, Grant, finds himself working as a wedding photographer during his vacation from his Marine unit but developing feelings for his sister’s wedding planner, Anna Keebler, wasn’t on his agenda or hers; funny how love knocks you out when you least expect it.
From the moment Grant and Anna meet their chemistry is so strong is oozes off the page and so comes as no surprise that they wind up in an interesting position the first time they are alone only to be interrupted by what turns into a most interesting rescue operation and then cooler heads prevail for awhile at least. I really loved these two together; Grant has this good guy persona and it seems he does no wrong and is good at everything and while he really is a great guy he proves time and time again something wicked lies just beneath the surface. He also unfortunately carries a bit of guilt about an incident he regrets deeply; one that has him determined to never allow himself to find happiness in marriage and family. I really loved Anna’s no holds barred attitude and can relate fully to the way she speaks her mind, some call her blunt I just call her honest to a fault. I was amazed at how easily she shared so much with Grant to which he was happy to explain it was his superb interrogation skills. Despite her tough exterior it was evident she’d been hurt a lot in her life and tried to protect her heart at all cost.
I very much enjoyed seeing all of Grant’s siblings their significant others, and their mom. A surprise appearance by someone was intriguing and I now even more excited about the next book in this series because of it. This is one unique, crazy, and wonderful family.
There is something special about an author who has me salivating over a character’s fictional photographs, I can’t help it I want to see Grant’s work and it is so not fair that it isn’t real. I think that’s why I love Ms. Fenske’s work so much; it feels as if these characters and their situations could be real and I could very much envision hanging out with these very interesting characters.
Sometimes when I write reviews I really feel like I’m gushing about an author and to be honest sometimes I am and this is one of those times. From the very first book I read by author Tawna Fenske (which by the way was Eat, Play, Lust) I was impressed with her humor and her ability to make me want to jump into the book and make friends with the characters and that continues to happen each time I read her. While more emotional that any of her previous offerings Best Man for Hire still contains everything I’ve come to expect from this author; fascinating characters, a fun plot, humorous dialog, and steamy, sexy scenes and as always it is not a book you want to miss!

This sexy, funny romance is the story of Anna and Grant. When Anna's wedding photographer gets fed up with the shenanigans of one of her more unusual weddings, boy scout and hunky marine Grant offers to play the part for her, having dabbled in amateur photography with a keen eye to what works for pictures and an even keener eye on Anna herself. But when Anna wants to delve beneath the surface of Grant's almost too perfect personality, will Grant be willing to let her in? Or will a quick fling be all that's left in their memories?

Tawna has the knack to make a reader fall in love with her characters as they are presented in such real and flawed ways, that one can't help but recognize aspects of themselves in them. They are bright and funny and sexy and anguished and all manner of other emotional states, making the stories come alive. Anna is a treasure, a fun, confident, sweet woman who does a job not many would dare attempt, taking wedding planning to new heights to satisfy any client. Grant is struck by her honesty, her bluntness and is immediately attracted to the whole package. In turn Anna sees Grant as the perfect man, though she knows instinctively that that perfection hides something that he is reluctant to share. The sexual attraction between them sizzles and the love scenes between them are sexy and fun and emotional. Ms. Fenske has an amazing ability to draw out the emotional aspect of the story line and integrate one hot sexy read. What I love about this book was that as a readers you become emotionally invested in all the characters since Ms. Fenske presented and written characters that are were raw, real and vulnerable that you can't help but relate to. Grant and Anna's chemistry was clearly highlighted as the story progresses. It was steamy, sexy, and sizzling. Best Man For Hire is one of those books that you can't help but fall in love with the characters and root for the HEA. Overall, I enjoyed this book and will be looking forward to reading more books from this author.

Best Man for Hire was a great little book! It was a quick, light and funny as hell read. I’d have to say that the humor was the driving factor in my enjoyment of this book. I honestly laughed out loud often while reading. Take this conversation between the hero, Grant, and the heroine, Anna, for example:
She frowned at him. ‘Did you get your Boy Scout merit badge in entomology?”
‘I enjoy reading zoology texts for fun.’
‘Of course you do. You can’t just read a fucking Playboy magazine on the can like every other guy because you’re fucking perfect.’
See? Funny!
Or this scene between Anna and her sister, Janelle:
Anna bit her lip. ‘I can explain.’
‘You can explain why a strapping Marine is standing here with his fly undone offering to pee on you while he smears your ass with fruit?’
Hahahaha!
I also adored the sexual tension and flirty banter between Grant and Anna. However, what I found a bit frustrating was that Grant didn’t truly open up to Anna until pretty far into the book. And there was one point where I felt Grant did a rather quick turnaround in his feelings that was not very believable. Honestly though these minor complaints didn’t lesson my enjoyment of the book.
Overall I thought Best Man for Hire was a very entertaining breath of fresh air. It had an easy, breezy, fun vibe that would make a great beach read or for when you’re not looking for anything too deep.

I got this book because it was on sale.
I haven't read any other books in the series and can't say I'm tempted. I found the hero to be entirely too perfect. He's totally hot, he's a military intelligence specialist, he's a quality photographer, he does his own carpentry and it's magnificent, he rescues kittens from trees. His only hang ups could be entirely solved (and are) with a conversation with his brother (actually I might be tempted to read the brother's story - he sounded interesting). The heroine bases her entire self image on actions that happened when she was eight - her parents divorce. Yes it was all her fault. So I found each character eye roll worthy and my experience reading the story suffered as a result.
I would not recommend this story.
I haven't read any other books in the series and can't say I'm tempted. I found the hero to be entirely too perfect. He's totally hot, he's a military intelligence specialist, he's a quality photographer, he does his own carpentry and it's magnificent, he rescues kittens from trees. His only hang ups could be entirely solved (and are) with a conversation with his brother (actually I might be tempted to read the brother's story - he sounded interesting). The heroine bases her entire self image on actions that happened when she was eight - her parents divorce. Yes it was all her fault. I made an excellent life decision by starting off the new year with this one. I always love that when I read a new Tawna Fenske book, I can expect humor, romance, and a little bit of mayhem. And that is exactly what best Man for Hire delivers.
Anna and Grant are a delightful pair. I loved both of them, and I loved Anna's atypical wedding planning business. Pair that with the shenanigans the pair of them got into, and I found this to be an extremely satisfying read.
What was even more great about Best Man for Hire is the fact that both couples from books 1-2 are back for the show in this one and we get some different glimpses of them.
The end of this one leaves a few things up in the air, and I'm hoping they're hints for the next book. Because I cannot get enough of this world!

This book offers more of the same kinda sexy action, snappy dialogue and laugh-out-loud fun as the first two books in this series. When I was younger, I used to call paperback romance novels potato chip books. You know, a guilty pleasure... kinda like eating a whole box of chocolates, or gorging on cotton candy.
And then there's Fenske's books. NOT your typical sweet romance. No, no, no. If her books were potato chips, they'd have to be something alng the lines of ai-yi-yi chipolte. You know, plenty spicy. With ridges, of course. With her penchance for innuendos, they'd definitely have to have ridges.
The more of these books I read, the more I like 'em. Fenske is the queen of sexy humor, and I'm looking forward to her next book. I hope the next one is about the reclusive brother Schwartz. His life could definitely use some spice.
