Ένα βιβλίο προκλητικό, τόσο ως προς τις θέσεις του, όσο και ως προς το ύφος του, χωρίς όμως να είναι υβριστικό ή να προκαλεί αποστροφή. Η συγγραφέας Catherine Clément, επιτίθεται στην Φροϋδική ψυχανάλυση και σε έναν, μικρό, βαθμό στον ίδιο το Φρόιντ και ακόμα περισσότερο στον Λακάν, πράγμα φυσικό αφού το βιβλίο γράφτηκε στη Γαλλία τη δεκαετία του '70 όπου ο Λακανισμός ήταν το σημείο αναφοράς για ψυχαναλυτές και ψυχαναλυόμενους.

Αυτό που κάνει το βιβλίο ιδιαίτερο δεν είναι η ιδέα που βασικά προβάλ

Catherine Clément (born February 10, 1939) is a prominent French philosopher, novelist, feminist, and literary critic. She received a degree in philosophy from the prestigious Ecole Normale Supérieure, and studied under such luminaries as Claude Lévi-Strauss and Jacques Lacan, working in the fields of anthropology and psychoanalysis.
