Gonzalez has a super fun celebration of summer pool time play. The rhyming text adds to the fun - not a distraction. Plus listeners will love shouting out “Don’t Splash Grandpa” whenever needed. Srinivasan’s illustrations include wide expanses of blue and splashes, with a wide diversity of kids.

This book perfectly captures a summertime-fun vibe that kids will love. From pool toys and floaties to relay races and cannon balls, readers will relate to the joy that a day at the pool brings. The cautionary refrain, “Don’t splash Grandpa!” will have kids turning the pages to find out if Grandpa is safe from getting drenched or what will happen if he does get splashed. Julie Gonzalez’s spot-on rhyming text combined with Srinidhi Srinivasan’s bright, expressive illustrations make this a splashy read aloud for one or a crowd. All around good summertime (or anytime) fun!

Fun and funny! A nice rhythmic pace and rhymes in this colorful book set at the pool where all the children are having fun and Grandpa is resting in his chair nearby, but "Don't splash Grandpa!" but that warning is offered all in good fun. I'm sure this will make a fabulous Father's Day gift or even a gift for someone who's just having their first grandchild.
Cute illustrations make it accessible for even the youngest readers/listeners. Fun for the whole family.

After seeing this giggle worthy title and this amazing cover, I couldn’t wait to read this. It features a fun pool-loving group, a grumpy grandpa, and one rule: Don’t Splash Grandpa. But if there’s something I know about pools, it’s this: splashing is bound to happen! And when it does, what will Grandpa do? You’ll have to read to find out the perfect ending to this story. I have no doubt that readers will love this clever, super fun, and heart-warming book all year long!

Don't Splash Grandpa! is a delightful summer read. Julie Gonzalez’s bouncy, adorable rhyme is the perfect match for Srinidhi Srinivasan’s bright and humorous illustrations. The story takes us through a classic, "splishy-splashy" day at the pool with a clear mission: have a great time, but absolutely, positively do not splash Grandpa! Kids will have tons of sopping wet fun following the rhyme, and both children and adults will get a kick out of the clever twist at the end.

This is an incredibly fun picture book. The text is written in short, snappy rhymes. The illustrations are just awesome. Every page has wonderful visual appeal, with fun bubble lettering that emphasizes words such as "squirt", "spurt", "swirl", "twirl". I could pretty much taste the chlorine while reading this to my daughter (in the very best way)! And the ending! Very unexpected. Very fun. Highly recommend as your new favorite summer read!

This book made me smile the whole time I was reading it. Julie Gonzalez's adorable rhyme bounces along with the perfectly paired bright illustrations from Srinidhi Srinivasan. The text takes us through a day at the pool, with a reminder to have a great time, but definitely not to splash grandpa! Kids and adults will love this story with its fun twist at the end. I highly recommend it!

With bouncy rhyme that is just right for a splishy-splashy day at the pool, accompanied by humorous illustrations, kids have tons of sopping wet fun...without splashing Grandpa (or will they?)!
