Silver Fox Daddies

His Son's Ex

Rate this book
TOP 12 BESTSELLER IN THE WHOLE AMAZON STORE

Crashing my ex’s wedding was for closure…
Until his plastic bride called me fat in front of everyone.
Three hundred witnesses. Dead silence.
That's when the Mafia king put her in her place.

Dante Bellacino.
Devil in an Armani suit.
My ex’s father.

He shuts her up with a single look.
"Apologize," he growls.
Then turns to me like I’m the last sin he’ll ever commit.
"You’re staying."

I should run.
But fate traps us in an elevator between floors—
And that’s where I get my first taste of sweet submission.

Now I’m working for him.
Trapped in his world.
His rules.
My ruin.

Because the man who owns my body…
Who touches me like I’ll break,
And ruins me like I won’t…
Might be the one behind a murder that shattered my world.

And falling for him?
Might be my deadliest mistake.

Sigh... Should have DNFed this. I really should have. Truly wasted my time with this. Disjointed, incoherent and just very badly written. Picked it up on a whim as a palate cleanser and now I need a palate cleanser for my palate cleanser. If I could give zero stars, I'd give this zero stars.

I wasbon board but then the MMC felt to weak for me for a older man and a "big mafia boss man" he let his woman get away didn't chase after her when she wanted a break. let his ex wife and son and daughter in law let them talk shit.

I agree with fmc why would she date a man and be bullied by his family. I just can't.

Oh boy, did this book ever need a ton of help. This one was just pushed out way too fast to be published, and it feels like there wasn't nearly enough proofreading and editing done to it.

First, there were misspelled words, then there were flat out missing words here and there. There were formatting issues, especially at the beginning of the book. At least those tapered off further into things. Next, there were inconsistencies. In his office, was she wearing a skirt or pants. One moment he unzips her pants, then reaches to remove her skirt.

All of these editing issues aside, there were also issues with the story, as well. You can't tell me that Eva ever voluntarily had anything to do with Luca. Not only that, but she had to attend his wedding for closure? No, she would have been over him long before they even started dating. I just don't see it at all.... anywhere. It doesn't work, even as a plot device.

Next, that big secret that she learned that sent her running, just felt a little too flat for me. She knew there was a war between the Italians and Russians, and she knew her family and Dante's had to be part of it. It isn't a big stretch that there may have been some correlation between her father's death and his family. But for something that happened 10 years ago suddenly coming to light and causing her to run? No, that just feels wrong.

The story itself was OK, and kept me engaged for the most part, but I don't think I would read this again. I might recommend it to others, with the warning of a weak plotline.

Pseudo Mafia with Continuity Issues

This book is obviously was written in chapter form and then someone tried to connect all the chapters and didn’t give a care if the story had continuity errors big enough to drive a semi through them. Lord have mercy the book is a mess. Filed with hot sex, but the plot is a mess. Dante tells the Bratva about Eva, then is stunned they know about her. Then in another chapter asks who knows about Eva? I had whiplash with all the problems and worried if the characters had dementia, as they couldn’t remember what they just said? Slacks become a skirt, and clothing disappears and reappears. Did this author even read what she wrote? Obviously neither the author or the editor read this book before it was published. I guess if you love hot sex with a mess of a plot, then this book is for you. Maybe if you don’t have ready comprehension you’ll love this book. Lord what an utter mess.

DNF - poorly written

Sophomoric, shallow, can’t believe 26 book in a series or 3rd on KU. Someone is buying reviews and placement. Do not understand the hype. Even skipped ahead convinced had to get better. Do not start.

I really wanted to like this book. It has all the things for a quick read that I was looking for. The problem that I had was that this book is clearly either written by or edited by ChatGPT. I like a good em dash myself, but every other paragraph seemed like it had multiple.

Putting that aside, I was looking for a book that required little to no thought on my part. I'm a fantasy girlie and want to give my mind a break from world-building and things of the like. However, this book made me question a lot.

For starters, we're to believe that Eva, our main character, was in a long term relationship with Luca, the mentioned Ex-boyfriend, and that she was devestated by the break up enough to crash his wedding? We're also lead to believe that she felt anything positive towards Luca during the course of that relationship, giving how he was written. I just could not get on board with that.

Next, we're made to believe that it was instalove between Dante and Eva. Dante saying he didn't know who Eva was before their chance meeting at the wedding. But Dante being the "don" of the mafia didn't do digging on his own son who he called "Spineless" throughout the entire book? I'm don't know, doesn't seem very head of mafia to me.

Speaking of mafia, the mafia was just sprinkled in to attract those who love the mafia genre. There is no mafia. There is an angry man with money that has people working for him. That's all.

Age is not ever mentioned during this entire book, but Luca and Eva are at least over 21 years of age. So you're left guessing and assuming a lot.

Further more, Eva gets kidnapped at the end of the book. We don't know how long she's there, she doesn't know how long she's there. She talks about wanting to get away, planning and escape. There's an iron door that prevents her from getting out, but the next thing we know, she's using a wire to escape through the door. Okay cool. She also uses the wire as a weapon of defense.. somehow.

This whole book screams Chatgpt. After a quick google search of this author after reading the book, this apparently has been found out before now. There's no shame in using ChatGPT as a resource for wording or maybe help with phrasing, but having the system write an entire book for you is alittle much. I usually don't ever provide this much of a review, but if it helps to stop someone from borrowing this from KU & stop giving someone money to support this kind of products, then I'm all for it.

i read this because of the age gap trope but we never really know how old they both were. also, what bothers me the most is that eva is said to be the "best hacker" but why does need someone to make her vanish if she could be able to do it herself?

anyway, i was bored and this is just meh.

I DNF-ed this. There is no way I could have finished it. This review is mostly for me, so I remember not to accidentally download and read this again. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The similes…. Wayyyy too many and distracting.

The lack of paragraphs. The flow was just too choppy and direct for me. I don’t think I saw a single non-dialogue paragraph. … like what?

Was this AI written? I’m genuinely curious. 🧐

I love the idea, just wish I could read it. Maybe it’s just the author’s writing style I struggled with? Especially considering all the 5 star reviews… but I digress…

I struggled to finish this book. I saw the title and was excited to read it. But what I did read was nothing I expected. Dante is Don and Don's dont take any sh*t from anyone right? Not Dante his mother is in charge his ex-wife does whatever the hell she wants and his son... Heir to the family is a spoiled rich boy who thinks he doesn't have to earn anything and just takes what he wants. I'm sorry but Dante was a poor excuse for a Don.
Eva wasn't all that great. She knew who Dante was and what he was supposedly capable of he's a dangerous man and she wanted him to change his ways and be a much less violent person......erm what? She was secretly from his world so she knew what kind of things men in that world did but wanted him to be loving and sweet. She was just very whiny about everything and got on my nerves and so did Dante.

There’s an ick factor…

This was pretty good, except for the father/son part of the FMC’s story. She was the girlfriend of the son so I’m assuming they slept together. But then she sleeps with the father. Ok, I’m gonna say that if he looks like the cover model, I understand.

Lots of mafia stuff in this, with wars and killings. Some of it is in the past and relates to the FMC that she keeps secret. There’s the ex wife who is seriously focused on her appearance, both physically and socially. And boy is she a POS.

KU read and recommended. I’m sure that others will find a lot of things wrong with this story but it was fun and I’m so old at this point that I no longer care about political correctness or whatever passes for feminism these days.

Rant over! This was really good!

Loved Dante and Eva

She attends her ex's wedding, at her friends urging, for closure. She didn't need closure and she needs to get outta there.

She almost face plants on her way out when a silver fox saves the day.

The bride catches sight of her before she can make her escape. She makes a snarky comment about Eva and the silver fox makes her apologize.

Turns out the silver fox is Dante, her ex's father and head of the Italian mafia.

They can't stay away from each other. He knows he should let her walk away but he can't.

Great story!

Dante' was the perfect Silver Fox, to Eva. Powerful chemistry between them from the first meeting. I loved the back story of the ex wife, and the wimpy son, she raised with her family name. Old wars coming back to repeat rivalries, and back room deals, really amp up the danger. I loved the HEA ending. Trish. A

Overall this was an okay read. Everything was happening too quickly without enough buildup and back story. I feel as if Dante had more connection to Eva, than she did to him. The raw, true connection didn't exist for me between the main characters. Few spicy scenes that could have been written better.

Eva crashes her ex-boyfriend's wedding where she is insulted by the bride. The groom's father, Dante, makes her apologize. He then takes Eva to his penthouse where they spend the night. Eva gets a legitimate job at Dante's company. She finds out she is pregnant and is then kidnapped. Dante is the head of the Italian mob and learns of Eva's past. He then calls in the Russian mob to help him locate her. Will he find her before her kidnappers kill her?

I liked this story. I liked Eva and Dante a lot. They are their own little world. Too bad there are others that interfer with them. Dante starts looking into Eva's past and her parents. What he finds out about her parents and his family does not make him happy. Eva has to decide, if she makes it through the kidnapping, if she can trust Dante and will stay with him. Those involved in the kidnapping are scum. I was hoping Dante and the Russian mob would find her and punish the kidnappers.

I look forward to reading more of K. C. Crowne.

"You want someone who won't apologize for wanting you back."

It was obvious from the beginning that Dante was a man who really understands women, and Eva wasn't used to a man like that. I thought, based on the blurb and the first couple of chapters, this book was going to be sexy, fun, and not too deep. Turns out sexy is the only thing I got right. This book actually has a real plot with action, angst, surprises, and some very interesting secondary characters.

Dante wasn't the calm, confident, serious Dom I expected, although he had all these characteristics to some extent. He has a temper that he struggles to control, he has insecurities he usually hides well, and, while he's not a funny guy, he's not as serious as I initially assumed. Despite being Don, his mother actually is still extremely involved in running the Familia. I was surprised by how bossy she was and how much he deferred to her. Not something you often see in a Mafia boss. Eva pretty much came out of nowhere and turned his world upside down. I'm surprised it took him as long as it did to realize how head over heels in love with her he was.

Eva was more complex. It was obvious from the start that she had a lot of secrets. Smith? I find it hard to believe such an intelligent woman couldn't come up with a better, less obvious last name. At first I found her very amusing. "Clearly I have a type: dangerous, observant... and probably armed." She made me laugh a lot during the first few chapters. I was disappointed when her dry sense of humor pretty much disappeared as the story progressed. She clearly had a tragic past and held everyone but her bff, Halsey, at arms length. And even Halsey, who she obviously loved and trusted, wasn't privy to all her secrets and pain. Speaking of Halsey, she's one of the interesting secondary characters I was referring to.

Dante and Eva have instant, explosive chemistry - their interlude in his hotel room was very sexy, sensual and hot - but this is no instalove story. Nothing about their relationship is simple except their attraction. More than once Eva wishes they could just stay in bed together, forever, hiding from the world. Too bad life isn't that simple.

I won't spoil all the secrets and surprises. I want everyone to get the chance to discover everything themselves while reading the story. It's a long one, almost 400 pages, so be prepared to spend some time with it.

In addition to Halsey, I also found Alex Abramovic extremely interesting and intriguing. A member of the Bratva, whose family has a complicated and mysterious past with the Bellacino's, he grabbed my attention with every appearance. I sincerely hope K.C. plans on writing a book about him. I really want to see him fall in love. Maybe even with smart, confident and funny Halsey, who also seems to have a mysterious past.

I surprisingly kind of felt sorry for Luca. Being raised by that b**ch mother of his, he kind of never had a chance to be a good man. He was constantly his own worst enemy, and I kept hoping he'd wake up and make the right decision. I can't help but feel there was so much more to him than even he realized.

This was actually the first book by K.C. Crowne I've ever read. I don't know how I had never read anything before. But, I honestly enjoyed this story, and I will absolutely be reading more in the future. Hopefully, I'll see more of the hot Russian one day, too.

My Sons Ex by K.C. Crowne, is a Dark Mafia, Age Gap romance. It revolves around Dante, a crime lord and Eva, his son's ex. Deciding to get closure, she, Eva, decides to crash her ex's wedding and ends up grabbing the attention of his father instead. From the very first page, I could already tell, this book would, no doubt, be a hard read for me due to the layout of the book. Every sentence, thought and dialogue is a new paragraph; below is an example, taken straight from the book.

Excerpt:
The first rule of crashing a mob wedding?

Don’t.

Especially not when your name is sitting pretty at the very top of the 'Do Not Allow In' list.

Yet here I am—waltzing in like I own the damn place.

Looking for trouble. Daring it to find me.

Because when your hacking skills are sharp enough to carve through government firewalls, slipping onto a wedding guest list?

Child’s play.

But this?

This isn’t some overpriced fairy tale wedding with a signature cocktail menu.

It's a cathedral of crime—gilded in gold, teeth bared behind chandelier fangs, humming with blood money and champagne lies.

Every man here is a predator in pressed Armani.

End of Except

As you can see, each sentence stands alone; it appears as though the author double spaced in order to make the book longer and to achieve their intended word count. If it had been written properly, the first page would have been a quarter size, but instead, it takes up the whole page. What would have been a novella ends up being 360+ pages. Unfortunately, this isn't the only problem with this book, but it was enough for me to call it quits after only 6 pages because it got worse. One hundred and twenty-five words, (yes, i counted) on one page, is ridiculous and in my opinion, was written by AI.

With that being said, I will not be reading any further from this author; I don't support authors, who clearly, are taking advantage of their readers by selling a novella, in the form of a novel. Furthermore, having only been published a little over a month ago, with nearly 2000 five star reviews, leads me to believe, the reviews are being padded by ARC readers in order to bring up the ratings, which is 4.17; if not padded, then read by those only interested in the BDSM aspect and erotic scenes of the book.

In closing, a little advice to the author. The storyline is interesting and has much potential, if edited properly and was sold as a novella; It's not the quantity of pages written, but the quality of the work, that's important.

This is the second book I’ve read by KC Crowne and it was just as good as the first one. This is an age gap mafia romance with everything you hope for.

Family drama ✔️
Familia fueds ✔️
Crazy Ex’s ✔️
Blood shed✔️
Jealousy ✔️
Heat and spice ✔️
Kidnapping ✔️
Unplanned pregnancy ✔️
Burn the world down to find her✔️

Yep. A little bit of everything. This story features the Don Dante Bellacino and Eva (Petrova) Smith.

Eva has done everything in her power to blend in and be unknown. She comes from a powerful Russia Bratva line, but after her family was killed, she was presumed dead. She uses her hacker skills to stay hidden in plain site. She dreams of working for a corporation and making money doing legit hacking. The story begins as she crashes the wedding of her ex sob Luca Bellacino, who is marrying stick figure Barbie. Luca always made her feel less than about everything but especially her image because she isn’t a size zero. But when stuff goes down at the wedding she runs into Daddy Dante and the fireworks are immediate.

Dante is the mob boss, the Don and he always gets what he wants. He is quiet power, he doesn’t have to raise his voice or threaten violence to be heard and obeyed. When he catches sight of Eva he feels the need to protect her. Especially from the rancid mouth of his new daughter in law.

This story is crazy town from the jump but keeps you on the edge of your seat. I don’t want to give too much away because there was so much good stuff that happens. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in a day. It’s not super long, only 346 pages. But I was hooked from the start.

The wedding drama has to be one of my favorite parts of the book as well as family dinner because what’s dinner if there isn’t drama?!

Eva is a smart, funny, witty, curvy girl who is a hacking genius. I thought she would do some serious hacking against the other families at Dante’s request but that never came. Shame to waste good talent. I would have brought them to their knees with a little behind the screen action.

Dante is everything you want in an older badass mafia man. Sexy, charming, attentive, dominant, demanding, and loving.
He will burn the world down for the intriguing woman that his son threw away so carelessly.

This was an amazing story and I highly recommend.

Disappointing

The story starts off with intrigue and mystery. Eva is a super intelligent, sassy, independent woman who decides to crash her ex-boyfriend’s wedding to a new girl. At the wedding, she meets her ex’s father who essentially falls in lust at first sight with her. A few weeks later she has an interview at a top corporation for cybersecurity and daddy is the CEO.

This story had the makings of an amazing epic tale and then it just got lost. Dante should have been a ruthless, powerful and mature character but he’s still bowing to the whims of his mother, the retired matriarch. There’s other woman drama in the form of Dante’s ex-wife, the mother of Luca who is Eva’s ex-boyfriend.

Eva is touted to be this excellent hacker and yet her skills are never showcased in the story. She gets undermined and used and then makes dumb decisions that if this was a slasher movie we would all be screaming don’t go into the house. Dante keeps mentioning a violent past but I don’t think he even once uses violence. He shoots one person but never beats anyone up even when they deserve it. He comes across as a weak character. He doesn’t seem overly intelligent or calculating but more reactive and simple. Additionally, he’s the most powerful Don in the city yet doesn’t have any bodyguards or men he trusts to guard his back so is ambushed multiple times which made no sense. Why doesn’t Eva have a team of bodyguards? So many questions.

The mystery of Eva’s past is made out to be much more intense than it is and we are left in a state of climax but with no winding down. Everything wraps up so quickly you’re still left heart racing yet unsatisfied.

I would have not finished reading this book but I was curious if the ending would prove sweet and worth it. Overall this was a disappointing book. I would have given it 2 stars but I rarely give anything under three because I don’t want to impact an author’s livelihood. But this book is a 2/5 at best and that’s because there were no grammatical or spelling errors. Based on plot and chemistry it was sadly lacklustre.

His Son’s Ex had me captivated from page one. What begins with a jaw-dropping wedding interruption quickly evolves into a story filled with emotional tension, sizzling chemistry, and deeply satisfying character growth. KC Crowne balances the drama of the mafia world with moments of genuine intimacy and healing—and honey, I was hooked.

Eva, the heroine, is confident, curvy, and brilliant. I loved the complexity of her character — strong, with layers of pain, bravery, and brilliance beneath the surface. Dante, the mafia kingpin and her ex’s father, surprised me as (obviously) he commanded respect; however, he had a clarity and emotional maturity that grew throughout this story. That's pretty refreshing for a male lead, IMHO. Their chemistry? Immediate. But it’s their emotional unraveling that truly pulled me under.

The story doesn’t lean on readily available tropes. Instead, it gives us a heroine with emotional walls and a hero willing to earn his place through trust and consistency. Their dynamic is magnetic—intense without being toxic, sensual without being performative. The intimacy between them isn’t *just* spicy; it’s honest, with scenes that seem to organically enhance their sense of connection, safety, and desire without requiring them to verbalize it.

This is also one of the first mafia romances I’ve read that acknowledges moral complexity without glamorizing violence. And the inclusion of family themes—biological, chosen, and broken—adds a rich emotional depth to the romance.

Bonus points for the body-positive representation, emotionally attuned love scenes, and the fact that I got not one but two epilogues. Pure romance reader bliss.

If you’re looking for:
💥 Mafia + emotional stakes
🔥 Scorching spice
💞 Age-gap with mature, charismatic leads
…then this one’s for you.

As usual, I'm so happy to say that this is HEA Confirmed ✅.

KC Crowne has became one of my favorite authors as of late and this is another home run from her! I absolutely loved Eva and Dante! This story is fast paced and full of twists and turns from the beginning focusing on family feuds, crazy ex’s, mama drama, jealousy, kidnapping, age gaps, betrayal, unplanned pregnancy and an obsessive over the top male willing to burn the world down for his woman!

The story starts gloriously when Eva decides to flaunt her curves at her ex Luca’s wedding and dares anyone to stop her from crashing it. And then she stumbles literally into the hottest silver fox ever and he reads her as a strong, sharp and clever woman and finds her fascinating! And then he defends her against the bride’s pettiness and she finally figures out who he is - the Don Dante Bellacino!

I love the way Dante respects Eva and compliments her and makes her comfortable in her own skin! I love that he respects her skills as a hacker and gives her the job her skills deserves and those underneath her respect her work and dedication! He’s always checking in with her to make sure she’s ok and she brings out a softer and tender side that just added layers to both characters and their relationship. I also the love the way he leads with quiet authority and doesn’t have to be violent or loud to have people respect and obey him. But he’s also willing to make the hard decisions and show why he’s the Don when necessary.

Eva is an amazing woman! She’s full of sass and vinegar but she’s been trying to hide herself in plain sight due to her past. I love that Dante builds her up and helps her be more comfortable with herself. I love the chemistry between them. It’s intense, magnetic, sensual and honest. There are a lot of secrets unraveled and betrayal hidden in her past and future that she has to overcome but I can’t help but root for her and Dante throughout the whole story!

Please please read it! You will not be able to put it down once you start!

Everything was underdeveloped or illogical. The mafia connections were thin with interactions that didn't make sense, attacks that had no established motives, and no clear presentation of the power dynamics within the city’s crime families.

The "big bad Don Bellacino" had no control over his son, ex-wife, or mother but was supposed to be feared by other organizations? Completely unbelievable. The son is weak and not suited to mafia life, but he is supposed to be heir to the criminal empire. The son's bride is irrelevant in every family interaction, but it is never clear whether she stole Luca from Eva despite the implications of that being the reason Eva crashed the wedding. The ex-wife is petty, manipulative, and still attends "family" dinners and mob events, even after her son has a wife. Why? She didn't come from a crime family and didn't allow her son to be raised under that structure. The family's matriarch does whatever she wants, meddles and disrespects her son, and apparently has old mob connections that are stronger than the Don's. None of that makes Dante look strong and makes zero sense.

Add the instant sexual attraction that had the two main characters in bed after 10 minutes. They carry on a secret workplace affair where the son works and the ex-wife is always dropping by, and no one notices?

And then we get to the threat based on someone leaving bullets in both main characters' apartments, as if the Don has weak security when running a powerful criminal enterprise. He has to run back home to his mommy, where his supposed power is disrespected by basically everyone. Where are his bodyguards, minions, and backbone?

I tried to endure but had to DNF at 58%. Lazy authors should stop peddling crap books.

I normally do not like mafia books but this one's preview intrigued me and i'm so glad i read it. it was outstandingly written, richly detailed, gut wrenchingly real, gritty, exploding with plot twists, action, emotion and more. Eva is just trying to survive her broken past having changed her name. she crashes her ex's wedding and ends up meeting and have a fling with his father a mafia don. this leads to an ongoing relationship but everything is torched when he digs into her past behind her back and finds out some secrets. Dante is a tough, strong, alpha don who has learned to rule thru strength, violence and fear but when he meets eva she gets under his skin and into his heart. I liked how he treated her so carefully and always made sure she consented with each interaction they had. how protective he was and how he stood up for her at every turn from day one. She brought out his tender and softer side which didn't detract at all from his fierce side. How he respected her brilliance and her strength of character. I loved how they brought out each others qualities and how they loved together. nothing better than a man who will burn down the world to save and protect his queen and his baby if they are in danger esp one who can write his own vows and be so vulnerable in front of his rivals and allies alike in order to make his bride know how cherished she is and how much she has his heart. stayed up all night to read this book and ended up reading most of it twice it was just so good.

Age gap, mafia, AND his son's ex? A couple of red flags for me, but I read a blurb about how Dante stood up for his son's ex and thought, "why not give this a shot?" I was in a bit of a reading slump anyway.

It was not what I expected. The whole son's ex, stepbrother/daughter, etc. genre for me is a big turnoff. I found that this book didn't shove the details of Eva and Lucas relationship down the reader's throat.

What I discovered is I had prep written an entirely different book in my head. Dante wanted to step away from bloodshed in the streets a d shut his enemies down. What better way then use the premier cyber security/hacker that you have a relationship with and just hired? Nope. That didn't happen.

What kind of tough mafia boss can't get rid of his ex forcing his way into his life? Why should she be allowed to sit at the family table knowing what she was after and how manipulative she was in getting what she wanted?

That is not counting all of the times I thought I read something wrong. A skirt becomes a pair of pants, a man hands off something in a video, but that is not where or when the original handoff occurred, telling someone's identity and then asking at a later point how they found out, telling a group of people about a pregnancy and then lecturing someone else about not sharing the same secret that you already told, etc. Just a few idiosyncrasies similar to those.

Some of the story I found entertaining. I often was expecting more. It was a fast read. If you like the whole mafia, age gap, relative relationship trope, this may be the book.for you.
