Avery is a rich girl who leaves home and tries to make it on her own and finds that she can’t. Avery ends up getting busted for stealing. She doesn’t want her dad to find out but after she finds out what her punishment is she might be better off running back to Daddy. This book was a little farfetched in my opinion; I mean seriously that whole punishment scenario would never happen in real life. Once I got over that and just repeated to myself several times “it’s just a book” I eventually enjoyed it. The kitty play was a little odd to me but to each their own. The book was entertaining and I will probably read the next one just to see what other ideas the author has.

This book is between a 3 and 4 for me, but since I could barely put it down I think it has to be a 4 star. I did really like it, I also really didn't like certain parts much at all.
The basic premise is a spoiled but neglected rich girl with a big heart continually acts in irresponsible ways until she finally does something really stupid and is caught stealing. Avery is 24 and her lack of self control causes her to act like someone 10 years younger, except that most 14 year old girls I've met are more mature than Avery is. Thanks to her father's influence, Avery is given the opportunity to work off her debt to society by cleaning and organizing the home of lawyer Preston Harrison for 6 months. For the first time in her life, Avery is required to follow rules or reap very painful consequences, mainly to her posterior.
What I liked about the story is the balance in Avery's character between brat and decent human being. Although, to be honest, she often weighs quite heavily in the TSTL brat category. Avery truly is her own worst enemy. Because of her outrageous behavior, the severe punishments she receives feel justified and although they made me wince more often than not, I did find them understandable.
It was Preston that I had more trouble with. He is introduced as someone who rigidly follows rules and is an upstanding lawyer and citizen, yet his behavior with Avery very quickly goes so far over the line that it could easily have landed him in a law suit for sexual harassment. It isn't that this is so surprising given the type of book it is, but it doesn't mesh with his character. At the point he is giving Avery bare bottom spankings and, well, feeling her up, it is only the second or third day she is at his home and under his care. Avery doesn't object (at least not to the "feeling her up" part), but she hadn't really encouraged it at that point either. So, although his actions were consensual, they were so inappropriate that I had difficulty suspending my disbelief at this discrepancy.
Toward the end of the story, Preston does something else I just could not accept and made me really dislike him intensely. I really, really wanted to see Avery stand up to Preston about this - he was totally out of line, and also out of character in my opinion.
The rest of my problems with Preston are more of my personal preferences. I found him so annoyingly patronizing, it made me slightly ill - but again, she really was acting like a two year old so being treated like one was justified. I often found the way he talked to her rather sickly sweet and condescending. Despite that, the punishment and erotic scenes were very well done - and very hot.
There were a few grammatical errors and the time line was inconsistent at a few points, but over all the writing was good. I would like to read more books by this author in the future. She has a unique style in a genre that tends to be pretty cookie cutter, and that is worth a star all by itself.

The description of this book immediately caught my interest and it was an easy decision to click "buy." The premise of the book is about a sassy girl being placed under the authority of a dominate, stud lawyer to avoid jail time and to teach her self-discipline. It starts off with a bang. Our heroine is predictably sassy and our dom lawyer takes her over his knee to start her training. All of this was blazing hot and my inner sassy-slut was thinking..."I hope I have enough batteries in the house." Sadly, for me the entire book was just okay. Let me try to explain...
The story was good. (I don't think this is a spoiler because of the book's description.) There is plenty of spankings and some pet play as our heroine is treated like a kitten for part of the book. Rules were nicely enforced with spanking consequences. I must admit that I love dom/sub scenarios, spankings and pet-play. Usually my arousal and kink-o-meter would be sky high with these delicious elements. However, the writing style was a little simplistic for me. I also like a more non-con or dub-con feel between characters, (but I didn't rate it down because of my personal likes). What tends to happen (for me) when there are dom/sub scenarios that don't have the element of true dominance, too much agreement happens between characters and you lose that feeling of a total power exchange. For example, our heroine is asked if she will become his kitten, her collar is not locked on her neck, her cage has a release button, she has a safe word, she can walk out of the arrangement and so forth. All of these things work in the context of this story, but again I like my doms to scare me when I read about them. I like the feeling that a dom is so dom that he will jump out of the book and spank my behind! That clearly does not happen here with a nice dom who asks permission.
So, I think this book is perfect for an audience that loves books with agreed upon limits, safe words and loving care for the sub. I know my review makes me sound like an uncaring bitch, but I am trying to be real. The book is good and don't let my need for a bigger than life dom scare you away from reading this book. It is sweet and will have just the right amount of spanking fun and romance for most readers. Enjoy.

This book has everything you might look for in a BDSM relationship novel. Preston is quite the natural Alpha male Dom and he likes his life & home orderly. Avery Rose is sort of drifting through life after leaving home for the first time. She takes a job cleaning houses but still unable to meet rent without asking her daddy, she ends up stealing some watches to pawn. Avery gets sentenced to help Preston, her appointed lawyer, at his home for 6 months for her penance. Avery Rose is incorrigible and lacking discipline but Preston has just what she needs, a firm hand! I found this novel highly erotic, covering all bases of D/s relationships including kitten play and many red rear ends. Thoroughly enjoyed the D/s dynamic of Preston & Avery! I loved her ongoing sass and foul mouth even when it got her a beating. Great inner dialog by Avery trying to figure out if submission is for her.
I highly recommend this for any erotic BDSM novel fan. Had it all! Looking forward to reading more by Megan Michaels in the Submission series!

The synopsis caught my eye and I enjoyed reading about Avery and Preston. Avery gets caught trying to sell two Rolex watches she stole to make her car payment. It seems being the daughter of a judge can get her ass out of hot water......or can it? Out of the pan and into the fire? Preston decides he will be responsible for Avery while she works for him to pay off her fine in order to avoid jail. He doesn't take too kindly to rolling eyes or lip, and he has a much more satisfying way to deal with little girls that cuss. This book was very imaginative and read more like a fantasy than a book. Overall entertainment is three stars!

If you are looking for lots of spanking, this is the book for you! The story of Preston (Lawyer, Dom, disciplinarian) and Avery (Criminal, rich girl). Avery committed a crime and is placed under house arrest at Preston's home and at his mercy to pay for her crime. Be Warned: Avery definitely pays for her crime in the form of spankings!
Avery was a very headstrong, independent and stubborn girl. I thought she made some very poor decisions and her butt paid dearly for them! Preston was a hard as nails alpha-male who was not putting up with any of Avery's antics. From the very beginning, he did not allow her to get away with anything. While he was hard, he also had some very sweet and tender moments that showed how much he wanted to care for Avery.
Overall, it was a good story.
Why Not 5 Stars?
Since the majority of the story only featured Preston and Avery, there were not many secondary characters throughout the book. Secondary characters appeared in the early part of the book and at the very end of the book. The middle was all about Avery breaking the rules and Preston spanking and/or punishing her. At some point I became very bored. Don't get me wrong, the sex was smoking hot, but each scene you just knew what was going to happen: Avery messes up, Preston spanks and punishes her, and then they have sex. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Not much else happened.
Animal kink - While I knew the book contained kitty play, it did not leave me in a warm place. I think it went on too long and it also made me view Preston as being creepy. I just could not wrap my brain around that type of role playing. Not sexy...just...Not sexy!

Not able to pay her rent she choices to steal from a house she is cleaning and gets caught. Paying for her crime maybe more of lesson than she thought it would.
Preston Harrison is a very precise, strict, lawyer and Dom. When the the judge asks for his help to keep Avery's crime off her record, he has the perfect solution. She can clean for him. He will teach her discipline and respect. Can Preston get Avery to lose her sass and submit?
WOW there was some series spanking going on in this one. The meeting and first spanking of Avery takes me a little by surprise, they are virtual strangers other than a car ride together and he is fast to spanking her? It was a good read but that first scene threw me. I never quite felt the chemistry between them though.

So I really can't express my feelings for this book and nothing I say will be able to compare to the awesomeness that is Finding Submission.
Ms. Michaels did an amazing job of showing a young girl just like the rest of us... and turning her into something so beautiful that you have to see it to believe it. Avery loves trouble but doesn't like the punishments that come after... and Preston has no choice but to really enforce the rules. Avery is entrusted in his care and he molds her into something no one saw coming. A beautiful soft spoken submissive who loves to be his good girl.
There are a lot of punishments given and a lot of tears but also so much love and affection. Preston always looks after his good girl and the after care is perfect. This isn't quite a BDSM story it's an erotic journey taken by one young girl and the help of an unlikely source. Highly recommended.

This is the first in a series, and I shall definitely be looking out for the next one. There were parts of this book which made me uncomfortable, but they were definitely thought provoking. I liked the writing style, and was entertained by Avery's antics, and staggered at some of the decisions that Preston made. Good reading for a wet and windy Sunday.

This was not my typical read and my first fetish book. It was an entertaining read. Avery is a smart mouth spoiled young lady where Preston believes in rules and boundaries. The two of them develop a sub/dom relationship after an unorthodox arrangement. What I didn't understand about Avery was she hard headed or did she really just like to be punished. With each punishment Preston would say "You'll never do this again." But yet she does. In the end this book kept me reading. HEA with kink.

This is a BDSM romance with a LOT of sex and discipline scenes (like, really, a LOT -- which is fine). The BDSM is heavily weighted to Domestic Discipline.
Avery is a young woman who can't get a job in her field of study and so makes her money cleaning houses so she doesn't have to live with her father, a judge. So improbability one is that a young woman cleaning houses could live alone in a decent apartment doing that. She gets behind on car payments so she swipes some watches from a house she is cleaning and tries to pawn them and gets busted. The abject stupidity of that is improbability two. She gets a deal presented to her to avoid community service or anything on a criminal record by living in the large newly-purchased house of a very strict and proper lawyer (Preston) and cleaning the house and organizing the disaster of stuff that came with the house. Almost immediately, Preston deals with Avery's acting out by spanking her soundly. And then pulling down her underwear and spanking her. And etc, etc, etc. Improbability three -- that would get Avery disbarred in a New York minute.
OK, so that is why it is 4 stars instead of 5. Because, once you get past the ridiculously-improbably plot elements, it is really a fun book. The characters are entertaining (OK, Avery REALLY doesn't learn, but, on the other hand, she rather likes a good spanking.) The punishments are hot. The sex is very hot. The kink (like the pet play) is hot. The HEA is predictable as all get out.
There is virtually no angst except for "How is Avery going to screw up this time?".
So I rolled my eyes at the plot and enjoyed the smut.

Avery found herself in trouble with the law and was arrested. She knew daddy would get her out of it because he is a lawyer and has connections. He did not want his daughter serving jail time. The judge and lawyer in her case decided she needed to have some kind of punishment for her crime. She would be cleaning Brandon's farmhouse for the next 6 months to pay off her fine. Brandon thought she needed discipline, a firm hand and rules to follow. He has special rules she must follow or she would be punished as he seen fit.
I enjoyed Avery sass and her foul mouth. Brandon being a dom helped in her discpline and changed her into a better person. I enjoyed the romance between them. However there was few scenes that I did not like but overall the story was good. I liked how descriptive the scenes were.

Finding Submission. was just Awesome. The author did an amazing job of showing a young girl just like the rest of us... and turning her into something so beautiful that you have to see it to believe it. Avery loves trouble but doesn't like the punishments that come after... and Preston has no choice but to really enforce the rules. Avery is entrusted in his care and he molds her into something no one saw coming. A beautiful soft spoken submissive who loves to be his good girl.
There are a lot of punishments given and a lot of tears but also so much love and affection. Preston always looks after his good girl and the after care is perfect. This isn't quite a BDSM story it's an erotic journey taken by one young girl and the help of an unlikely source. Highly recommended.

Megan Michaels is awesome
I love her writing and this book is so intriguing as it goes in depth exploring the D/s relationship. This is heavy on punishment and the kitty play is a first reading experience for me- that part I'm not sure of. Yet the story is so expertly handed by the Mistress herself.

At the beginning I was frustrated by the premise of the story. Why would a judge turn a law breaking girl over to an attorney and wouldn't the attorney be afraid of having abuse charges filed against him? I was further frustrated that she was mouthy and didn't seem to get the lessons. I thought we could get to this point (domestic discipline and control) but it needed a different set up. Then we jump to sex and kitten play without much of a transition. Furthermore, the book could have used a good editor to clean up typos and errors.

Disgusting!
I love a good dark Dom/Sub Book, and I read the warnings for this one. That being said, this book is SICK! If you're thinking about buying this book, beware the "kitty play" warnings means he treats her like a real kitty. Butt plug tail, eating out of kitty bowls, sleeping in a crate, wearing a collar and being on a leash and so much more! What the hell kind of man is turned on by this? I wish I could get my .99 back! DISGUSTED AND VERY DISAPPOINTED!

So once again, I am very disappointed with the book that I am reading so I have decided to stop…I actually got to page 158 out of 232 and finally had enough….It’s very unlike me not to finish a book, however this is the second one in a row! However, I was warned. this book does have a lot of corporal punishment in it together with kitty pet play. It did not hold my interest. I thought that the lead character was very weak. I felt like the book was missing something...Read at your own risk!!!

ALTHOUGH I FINISHED BOOK I STRUGGLED WITH SOME OF THE SCENES AND STORYLINE. I FOUND SOME SCENES TOO HARSH WITH DOM/SB RELATIONSHIPS ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE DID NOT (I FEEL) ENTER WILLINGLY. WAS WELL WRITTEN BUT I BELIEVE HOW THEY ENTERED THE RELATIONSHIP WOULD NEED TO BE REVISED.
