IN ANOTHER LIFE
At age eighteen, Shiloh Raben is tired. He no longer has the energy to deal with mean classmates, inner doubt, and fear of familial rejection, so he takes a razor to his wrist. When he wakes up in the hospital, Shiloh meets Travis Kahn, the EMT who saved him and didn’t leave his side.
Travis is handsome, smart, and funny—the type of guy Shiloh would never b

Jewish comfort food for Jews and Goys alike.

I'm a big Cardeno C. fan, especially when CC delivers, and I think that happened with these two stories. Cardeno C. is my go-to for Jewish MC romance, and these two Hanukkah stories really hit the mark.

In Another Life

I'm not always a fan of John Solo. The way he narrates sometimes irritates me, and I've made some comments in previous reviews about not liking the sound of his voice, especially for certain characters. Here, it irritated me les

Belens Audio Book Review

Brilliantly narrated by John Solo, In Another Life gives a glimpse of what could be and fateful encounters. This story is hands down one of my favorite novellas of Cardeno's. Filled with so much love and hope it definitely doesn't hurt that the sex is hot as hell too.

But more than that I absolutely love that Shiloh remembers the glimpse of the life that could have been and am completely enamored of Shiloh and Travis's whole love story. John had me crying while listening to this story...twice.

2 Hanukkah stories in one book. I really liked the characters in the first part of the story, Shiloh and Travis. This was a do-over story where Shy and Travis meet when they're in their 30's and a huge life threatening event is about to take place which sends Shiloh back to his own huge life changing event when he was 18...and he 'meets' Travis, hopefully preventing the event later in their lives.

The second part of the book is a Jock/Geek thing. The only thing I can say is I wish I could've gott

In Another Life:
I just finished, and my only wish is that I could have this in both e-book and audiobook. I loved John Solo’s narration, but I felt lost at the end. After rereading the blurb just now, I realized I missed an important word – could – the life he “could” have lived, not “did” live. If I have one piece of advice to others, it’s that you pay attention to the beginning of this

In Another Life

Without revealing what happens… Shiloh is shown at 18 and 36 … then again at 18 and 36. He gets “shown” a couple different variations of how his life “could” be and we are left when he finally figures it out right! Travis is his savior and whom he saves and finds true love with in the end.

It’s a bit like a morbid, gay, choose your own adventure and it has some funny lines, a bit of hot smexy times, and a very sweet HEA. This is an unusual story and though it’s short, tells a lot.

With every book I read from Cardeno C. I think wow this is my favorite, then I read another and think the same thing. There has to be a bad one in there somewhere right? If there is I haven't found it yet.

In Another Life

When Shiloh attempted to kill himself at eighteen it wasn't the life he led up to that point that flashed before his eyes with his last breath, it was the life he was going to miss out on that did. Travis

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review through Wicked Reads.

I was excited to get my hands on more romance by Cardeno C. and I was not disappointed! I thought the cover was intriguing and once I began to read, I didn't stop.
In In Another Life, I enjoyed the easily likable characters right away, and I was touched by the depth of emotion put into such a shorter storyline. I really felt Shiloh's pain and just wanted things to get better for him. I was surprised by how the

In Another Life….Oh my god, this book was amazing! I loved the concept of the book and my only wish was that it was longer! Shiloh tries to commit suicide, Travis was the EMT who saved his life and can’t seem to leave his side while he is at the hospital. You see things on tv when people have surgery and they say they saw things while under, either the white light, a family member who has pasted, etc. Well, this

Whether Cardeno C is writing full length novels or short stories like In Another Life & Eight Days, she always makes me fall in love with her characters.

Another Life is a sweet story about hope and never giving up. This lovey short story demonstrates that the dreaded "insta-love" can work very well in the hands of the right author.

Eight Days gives us the life of Maccabe and his oldest friend Josh. The first day is set w

This talented author always hits the right notes as far as I am concerned. The books are always a perfect combination of sexy men, family oriented issues, meaningful messages and full of love.

In Another Life is a clever story that inevitably gets you thinking, as well as enjoying a passionate, meaningful relationship.

Eight Days is told over a number of years and gives us the story of two really good friends, one of which

Very enjoyable narrations. I'm still waffling on how much I do or do not enjoy John Solo, but I think he's growing on me. Nick J Russo gave an outstanding performance.

So 2 books in one. The first story was a bit strange because I really thought the prolog was a sort of flashback. Insted it was the reality and the first chapter was a view of the future. Needed a bit to get used to it.
The second book was a bit boring (sorry) for me. I would put it a bit into the humorous cat because Maccabe was so cliché a jock it wasnt something you could take to serious.

Audio Book Reviews - In Another Life & Eight Days by Cardeno C - 4.5 If Second Chances Come Around Grab Them Tightly and Never Let Go

In Another Life - 5 stars

What can I say about this book. We start when Shiloh is Eighteen and find him in his darkest hours. Seriously this boy has hit rock bottom and tries to kill himself. Yet whilst he is unconscious, he remembers the life he could have lived aged 36. From here we learn all about his relationship with Travis, how they met and fell in love, t

This is a book that will stick with me. There is a very poignant message that people will feel a connection with. I want more.

When something is meant to be, fate will do anything and everything to make it happen. ANYTHING.

So, what did I think when I saw that there was an audiobook that included not one but two Cardeno C stories, and was narrated by both John Solo and Nick J. Russo? “WANT!! *grabby hands*” So, I got. And, enjoyed myself immensely.

In “In Another Life” as narrated by John Solo, Shiloh is a teenager at the end of his rope. Kids at school are picking at and bullying him, and his insecurities are waging war on his psyche. With all of this going on, realizing he is gay was basically the straw that broke

These two novellas are unlike any of CC’s work that I have read before. I spent a good amount of time laughing while reading both of these stories. So not only did I get treated to the expected combination of sweet romance, sexy men, and smoldering sex scenes, but I also got to laugh.

In Another Life was an extremely touching tale about the extremes to which bigotry and bullying can drive a teen. When Shiloh decides he can no longer deal with life stretching before him as a gay man, he attempts t

4.5 Stars!

I loved In Another Life. The entire premise of an 18-year-old Shiloh attempting suicide and as he lays there dying, having the life he could have led at age 36 flashing before his eyes was very appealing. It touched me on the thought that teens attempting and succeeding at committing suicide can't see the great possibilities that are in front of them down the road into adulthood.

If Shiloh would've chosen to live he'd eventually meet Travis, the love of his life. He'd se

Two well-written novellas, two superb narrators, a hot cover, and all at a very reasonable price.

In Another Life – 4.5*

This is a fabulous and cleverly-crafted story that ran me through a range of emotions. I laughed, I cried, and I swooned as I listened to Shiloh’s and Travis’ story. As often is the case with CC we are treated to insta-love, but keep with it if it’s not your thing. It all works out wonderfully in the end. It’s a story of second chances but sort of in reverse. The only thing I wo

This is two short stories about love and loss in one great book.

In Another Life
Let me start by saying this is a short 18+ M/M love story. 18 year old Shiloh Raben has attempted suicide because he can't take anymore. He's tired of the way he's treated at school plus on top of that he's gay and can't come out of the closet, or so he thinks. 23 year old Travis Kahn is the EMT who helps save his life. He doesn't leave his side until he wakes up in the hospital. While Shiloh was out he saw what his

I love Cardeno C. novellas. They are short, sweet, hot, poignant and pack a punch. Perfect writing, brilliant characters and hilarious banter.
In Another Life, Shiloh is 18 and hates his life so much that he tries to end it. He had a very vivid dream/memory of a man named Travis and their life together in the future. Specific details, dates, conversations happened that when he woke up and Travis, the EMT that saved his life, was there at his side, and he knew everything about him. Will Travis be

An interesting story of unexpected second chances. Shiloh's life has been a living hell and he sees only one way out. In that moment his future life with Travis flashes before him: a life of happiness. Travis is there when he regains consciousness and for once Shiloh seizes the chance of a life of happiness.

Shiloh was at his lowest point when he made the decision to end his life. His vision of the future gave him the confidence to take his life back and grab his chance at happin

Cardeno C. - CC to friends - is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few "awwws" into a reader's day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno's stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ev ...more
