The Biohazard: ALH84001: ALH84001
The year is 2054. Earth has suffered from an unexpected and devastating Extra-Terrestrial plague that has left millions dead. Without even getting the chance to react to the outbreak, an unexpected invasion leads to war, adding billions more to the death toll. Two survivors who were involved with "The Project" from the very beginning, return to where it all began in the hopes of retrieving something that could potentially help save the human race from extinction. During their mission, Jinx, a mechanic who was hired on for "The Project," rehashes old memories with his friend of the initial events (and the beginning of the series) that helped cause the disaster in the first place. In the process, he finally reveals the shocking truth that HE himself may be the reason why Earth stands on the very edge of destruction, and the desperate final mission that is now underway which is their very last chance to save the human race once and for all, or finally be completely wiped out if they fail. This book has been written in its original screenplay format.

Recommendation: Sure, to anyone that enjoys science fiction reads and is familiar with screen play format.

The Biohazard: ALH84001 is a pilot series created by A.J. Messer that is written to have multiple episodes. When beginning this read, I was initially caught off guard because I haven't read anything in a screenplay format since eight grade drama class. But after making sure I could give it my undivided attention, I actually enjoyed the change in pace.
The way that each scene is described by the author is basic and conveys what he wants the scene to portray. By being basic, it allows the reader to use their own imagination and visualize everything taking place. I really like that aspect. The dialogue flows and the characters interact in a believable way.
The plot itself is interesting but isn't entirely original. It favors a very common idea of space exploration gone wrong but with this version there are some well planned twists and turns. Overall, it was an interesting read and at less than two hundred pages, it makes for a quick detour from your normal daily routine.
