This book takes you on a trip to St Croix. The island is located
in the Caribbean Sea. It is a county plus constituent district of
the United States Virgin Islands.
The descriptions of the island are very vivid. The amazing
descriptions allow the reader to smell the sea, the various kinds
of flowers plus have a sense of walking on the beach.
The reader will experience the strains of music from the theatre,
the house on the beach and the beach parties. Each scene was
described so accurately that th

This was a fascinating novel that I spent one day reading, so real that when I came up for a breath I was surprised I was sitting in my chair and the day was calm. I did lots of adventurous traveling, by boat and plane as well as more conventional ways. It's the first novel by this author I have read and I am already looking for the next one. Exceptional story telling. Although there is lots of drama and suspense with twists and turns the reader can not see co

I enjoyed this suspense story of a parajumper/rescueman and a viola player/artist whose paths cross and romance blooms. The author reveals their personalities gradually as the book progresses through danger, intrigue and betrayal. The plot twists are many, and the action is exciting. I was kept reading far into the night to discover with the characters what exactly was going on and who the bad guys were. I have never been scuba diving or to St Croix, but the author’s descriptive passages made m ...more

Compared to some other books I have given five stars this one should have six or seven stars! I really enjoyed the well written plot and interesting characters in Fur Elise by PeggySue Wells. The book has both romance and suspense. There are a lot of details. By the time I got to Chapter 4, I was going back to read the earlier chapters again to be sure I had it all straight. I like the classical music and art world; I like the suspense of a parajumper to the rescue; it is unusual to find them in ...more

Fur Elise was a story that took you to the sands of St. Croix.
You will meet pararescueman Michael Northington whose
motto is "so that others may live." He is sent on dangerous
missions and finds he needs a break and leases a studio from
Elise Eisler a lovely cellist and talented painter who has grown
up on the island. The story has action, murder, music, a Senator
who doesn't look to be on the up and up, romance and it seems
danger is lurking around every corner. I enjoyed reading Fur Elise

PeggySue Wells has a surprising, suspenseful, and at times breathtaking new novel, Fur Elise. It isn’t simply a romantic suspense, as suspense doesn’t even begin to describe the thrilling international criminal or rescue activities. The delicate fabric of the romance is stitched with beautiful music and art at the idyllic setting of the island of St. Croix.
Elise Eisler is leasing out the cottage on property she inherited from her parents. This cottage is the place of Elise’s most treasured child

Fur Elise is the first book by PeggySue Wells that I have had the pleasure of reading. I loved the way Ms. Wells integrated a suspenseful tale of a military parajumper and a blooming romance with an accomplished musician. Her intricately detailed descriptions of the island of St. Croix made me feel as though I were there. It was easy to envision the beautiful scenery and the islanders.

Michael Northington thinks he’s found a place to escape his stressful occupation. St. Croix is a place to get a

This book is a great book on many levels. It has an interesting story, mystery, betrayal and intrigue, and believable characters. Michael is a Navy Seal that has come to St Croix to unwind after a difficult mission that left him disillusioned. He stays in a cabin that belongs to Elise, a musician desperate to keep her parents' legacy alive in the music hall that the island can no longer afford. Michael works part time as a diving instructor, but still gets wrapped up in a mission that puts himse ...more

Fur Elise was filled with drama, action, heartbreak, pain, love, danger, and much more. From the title, I anticipated a fluffy story about a Navy seal and a young artist falling in love. But the story is way deeper than that. It was sometimes a tough book to read because there is violence and heartbreaking situations centered on the tragic reality of human trafficking for body organs. Several other difficult topics are broached throughout the book- making it a great book for discussion. Peggy Su ...more

Finding the new chapter in your life
This is a complex story paralleling two very different lives – one of a military man disillusioned with life after feeling betrayed; the other a young woman living a sheltered, artistic life who also feels disillusioned with her life when her parents die. Each of them has stories to tell and adventures to embrace and the reader will delight in the mysteries and drama as their two lives get intertwined. I loved the excitement of the political happenings in the

This book is almost lie two stories in one, switching back and forth, between high action, military cutthroat and calm, serene island time. In the one, Michael is a well-trained pararescue man. This story is quick moving with lots of action – drama, murder, and explosions. On the other hand, the story of Elise who has grown up on the sleepy island of St. Croix where hermit crab races provide excitement. Although her parents are dead now, she has both their talents as she is an accomplished artis ...more

I just finished reading this book and I truly enjoyed it. It was a slow start, for me. A lot of detail and a lot of characters to sort through. After reading four or five chapters it all started to come together. A lot of intrigue and mystery with a some romance to round it all off. Well put together. You came to know most characters in the book and the mystery/intrigue kept you glued to the book. It was given to me to read for my honest review from a Christian book club, bookfun.org, and that i ...more

This enchanting book has diverse characters and interests. Taken in by the storyline surrounding Michael, a military trained rescue personnel as he discovers betrayal from those he had trusted, kept me reading on. Now he finds a new life to restore and recoup landing on an island and renting a cottage from a mysterious young woman, Elise. She is ensconced in the world of art and music passionately trying to save her parents' legacy. Michael's faith sees him through several harrowing escapades. T ...more

From St Croix to China, from hospitals to helicopters, Fur Elise will keep you on the edge of your seat. Ms Wells has given her readers a book filled with romance and mystery, professional musicians and military parajumpers, dirty politicians and vengeful family members. We get a look at the beauty of St Croix and the destruction Hurricane Hugo wrought. Nicely done descriptions of island life make the reader want to be there. Dangerous rescue missions, human trafficking for organ harvesting and ...more

Fur Elise is an exciting story of a disillusioned pararescueman, Michael, and Elise who is a talented painter and musician. Michael is suspicious about a friend’s death. The book is set on beautiful St. Croix and includes the island being hit by Hurricane Hugo. This exciting book kept you wondering what would happen next and was well written.

While I enjoyed the book, it did include lots of drinking, some bathroom humor and a few inappropriate words so I would not recommend it for someone looking

Fur Elise is combination of suspense with weaving of romance throughout. Elise lives on St Croix and is leasing out the cottage on the property. It was her art studio. She is leasing it out to raise money. Michael comes to the island after a mission he was on resulted in the death of a woman he knew. They become friends out of necessity. The plot continues to thicken and the ending is a surprise which is the way I like it. I can not wait to read more of this author's works.

I loved this novel about Elise and Michael. They end up being wonderful together. Michael leaves a stressful job and moves to St.Croix to have a less stressful life. Elise lives here where she learned to be musical from her parents and she wants to keep their legacy alive. She and Michael have many adventures on and off the island and have great romance. This is a romantic thriller. I received a copy of this ebook for a fair and honest opinion from bookfun.org.
