Kaden Thorn, a dental surgeon who lives a quiet life, has no hope of finding the love he craves. A vicious gay bashing cost him the use of his legs and confined him to a wheelchair. He has given up hope of finding a Dom or even a nonkink partner to love him. When his best friend practically forces him to attend a dinner party, the last thing he expects is a strong Dom who ...more

I'll admit, the main reason that I wanted to read this book because the MC is a "dental surgeon."

That's not the only reason, I swear! How could I resist a BDSM book with a wheelchair-bound main character?! I couldn't. I read my fair share of BDSM and this book just called to me.

I really wish this book delivered.

To be fair, this book had some nice aspects. I really like what it tried to do, which is show a disabled Sub still playing actively in the scene, being attractive to others, and finding
I'll write a more in depth review later, but I'm not going to be able to recommend this one to anyone other than super die hard BDSM junkies who will probably already be reading this. It just didn't have the spark to light my fire.

Updated February 9, 2015 : Whoops! I waited too long to review this one and have forgotten the key elements that I didn't enjoy about the book. Hate that!

But, rest assured, this book was not a fun one for me. I usually gobble up any and all BDSM tales, and this one

Unfortunately, this one just didn't click for me. The dialogue was too formal for my tastes and I found Kade to be kind of whiney and Deacon too "perfect." Also, this was too much insta-trust for my liking when it comes to BDSM.

Sadly, bad editing/proofreading in the last 40% affects my rating. It's a bad, bad thing when Jake suddenly becomes Jade, and Kade becomes Kate. It really distracted me from the story, as I started to think the two couples in the book, m/m and m/m, were originally planned to be f/m and f/m. How is it possible that books with this kind of mistakes get published? These mistakes should be corrected as soon as possible! I'll change my rating when that has been done, but until then, this is how this ...more

Finding a BDSM story with a main character in a wheelchair was unexpected. I really liked this one and was so happy for Kaden when he finally found the yin for his yang, the Master who is worth his submission.

The author did a wonderful job of conveying the heart and soul of these two guys, and when the heat turns up, it gets damn hot! The BDSM scenes are intense, the vanilla sex is tender and passionate. The emotion between Kaden and Deacon is electric, the intensity and rawness of it is definit

As a surgeon Kaden is calm, confident and in control. Refusing to let a wheelchair prevent him from achieving his professional goals was easy; facing those same challenges in his personal life and accepting his value as a submissive... not so much. While his soul cries out for a Sir he can trust and serve, the rejection Kaden experienced upon returning to the BDSM scene after his injuries have forced him to give up on his dream.

Deacon has been without a boy for quite some time, preferring to wai

Oh boy was I excited for this one. I love reading about damaged characters overcoming and finding the right person. That definitely happens here.

Kaden is really sweet. He pretty much has his life together – he is a successful dental surgeon with everything set up to accommodate his disability. He seems to have, as best as can be expected, come to grips with his situation. He is in a wheelchair, legs paralyzed after almost dying at the hands of his homophobic attacke

This is a fascinating story about a D/s relationship between a man in a wheelchair, who is a sub but believes no Dom can possibly want him, and the demanding Dom who falls for him and sets out to teach him that “formalities” in a D/s relationship are not what it’s all about. What made this story so interesting for me is not just the romance between Kaden and Deacon, but the focus on the D/s aspect without too much of the physical “trappings” present in some BDSM books. This novel is about the ps ...more
Don't know how to say this politely: I was bored to tears by this book. Sadly it was an Audio and those are hard to skim. 2 ½ stars because maybe it was me. ;-(

Rather than a BDSM book this seems to be a primer on the ways one should behave towards the differently abled and the do's & don'ts of a kink relationship. Deacon the Dom seems to be an almost superman like creature, perfect in every way and the "boy" Kaden veers between a bumbling mass of need and an annoying habit of jumping to judgemen

Sorry but this didn't work for me. Gutted as I usually enjoy Tempeste's books and I was really looking forward to this.

If I'm honest I was a little bored reading this, kept waiting for the story to get going but it didn't.

Didn't feel this connection between Kade and Deacon, thought Kade was quite a whiney character and Deacon came across as very formal in the was he spoke.

I thought this was a sweet book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. :-)
This one just didn't do it for me. I never felt the spark between the main characters and the writing never clicked for me.

And the blurb was so good...

3 stars. I wanted to love this book. I really, really did but it just fell so completely flat for me unfortunately. The story line was lackluster and didn't live up to its expectation at all. All the elements were there for me to really enjoy this but I'm just 'blah' about it.

Besides this being M/M BDSM which, um hell yes! give me all of that fam! the main character is in a wheelchair. Hurray for disability rep!! Love it! That was what really pushed me into picking this up because from what I've

Bland, that's what comes in mind when thinking of this book. I think it's great that it is about a disabled sub and tries to show that it doesn't keep someone from following their wants and desires and I give one star for that.
But nothing ever happens, there's no real conflict there. While reading I kept waiting that something would happen but it never came. Everything's just perfect. Deacon and Kade meet, they fall for each other, Deacon of course has no problems at all with Kade being in a wee

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. I preorded it some time ago and was so excited when I was finally able to download it. I loved the idea of a disabled submissive. Disabilities in the BDSM world are often overlooked because we all seem to want our heroes physically perfect.

Kade... God, I wanted to just wrap him up and... well, torment him. ;) He'd been through so much shit. I was thrilled to see him find Deacon and finally be able to serve again.

Deacon, well, he was awesome. I loved

This is the first book I read by this author and I think that will not be the last. I really LOVED this story and I regret that there is not a sequel. I wanted to read this book for already some time, the fact that one of the main characters is a man in a wheelchair seemed interesting to me (and I was not disappointed).
I liked Kaden and Deacon, how their relationship evolves, how Deacon is with Kaden and help him to understand that despite his disability he is always someone 'normal', interesti

The relationship between Deacon and Kade felt very formal. Deacon is a very formal person and Dom. The way they address each other is kinda stiff. As a result there doesn't seem to be any scorching chemistry between them.

I like damaged characters and Kade provides that here but the contrast with too-perfect Deacon is too much. I mean there was not ONE thing wrong with him, never a doubt, nothing.

For those who may care about this there is a group sex scene in this book.

Blah, I got an opportunity to listen to an audiobook presentation of that book and even now, I feel the same. This story is personally, to bland in every aspect. Simply said, boring!!

2014/December/31 - 2 star rating
There is something really bland about this storyline. I don't know why I feel that way, but the way Kaden and Deacon met and how they developed Dom/Sub relations, didn't appear realistic enough. Their story is just to perfect and nice. So yeah a bland paper.

This was a 4.5 star for me but I rated here as a 4 instead of going up because I did feel a couple inconsistencies.
Caged Sanctuary, by Tempeste O’Riley, is a beautiful love story between two men who wasn’t sure if they would ever have the partner they needed. This is about one man’s journey finding acceptance, love, and something he craves above all else, submission. You will see his fears from past and present that he faces daily. Confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life, Kade Thorn,

I have read a couple of this author’s other work and I have always enjoyed her stories, so I was really excited to read her newest book. I’m really glad that I did.

Kade Thorn is this really sweet, lovable sub who has been without a Dom in his life since his accident. Kade is filled with so much doubt about himself as he’s not the same person (i.e. sub) that he was before the accident. His self worth is just about nil as he’s had some bad/mean experiences from Doms and s

So this was a very interesting premise: a sub who's a proud and independant man except being paraplegic and chair-bound, and a considerate, inventive Dom who can look past the chair at the man. So far, so good. And the story took a honest effort to show that a disabled man can still be and do whatever he wants to, even play an active role in the BDSM community (view spoiler)

I liked some aspects of this story just fine, like the enterprising ideas Deacon came up
Hmm... Some Spoilers

Well, I did not pay close attention to the synopsis of this story because I am soooooooo not into BDSM and this story solidified my dislike of the genre.

The story is well written but Kade and Deacon's relationship happened way too fast. They were saying, "I love you" days after meeting. And the term 'boy' got on my last freakin nerve, but Kade did seem like a boy, not a man.

I liked that Kade had a disability and there were some romantic moments in this story. One particular

Four and a half stars!
This story was fabulous. I loved Deacon and Kade. There was so much emotion in this story. I felt everything with the characters. I enjoyed watching Deacon show Kade he was worthy of the attention and love he gave. Kade was so hurt from past experiences he didn’t know his own worth. My favorite scene is where Deacon went to the jewelry store with Kade. You could see how much Deacon felt for Kade and where he wanted the relationship to go. It wa

Kaden Thorn dental surgeon was left jaded and mentally devastated by a gay bashing years ago. He wants a Dom who can adjust to his needs and look past all his limitations.

Deacon is a wealthy successful architect and Dom left jaded and hesitant to take in a new "boy" due to his last one using him.

Can the two move past all that happened before and become something truly special? Will Kaden accept Deacon's taking a chance on him? This is one rocky road of emotional triumph and love that is not to b

Oh my gosh…this book ended up being beautiful. Yes, beautiful! It is a feel-good book that has so much going for it. Caged Sanctuary has fantastic three-dimensional main characters who experience internal turmoil, compassion, want, need, desire, love, and of course hot sex!

Some of their most intimate moments touched my heart so deeply I just could not help but love these two men. On several occasions I found myself screaming out loud to anyone around, “This book is awesome!”

Loved this! I've read some of Tempeste's books before and really enjoyed them, so when I saw this book and read the blurb, I immediately bought it! It is a bundle of tropes I enjoy, so getting it was a no-brainer and I was not disappointed! The relationship between the two men is very sweet and yet really hot, even though, at times, Kade's issues went on for a bit too long. I definitely recommend this! ...more
