Not all that good..

I did laugh out loud a few times but overall this wasn’t a very good story and I probably won’t go forward with the series. I have read 7 or 8 of Ms. Pillow’s books and most I’ve enjoyed but this one, not so much. I really didn’t like the way Eve was described doing her singing act: the banging of her head or the screaming of the songs she was “singing.” And she was pretty rude and nasty to Kyran for most of the story, until she was suddenly in love with him.

I did really like Kyran, Finn, Ivar and Rafe. They were all pretty strangely dressed when the went to earth to look for a wife for Kyran. They did remind you of the Village People.

There was 1 explicit sex scene and the F-bomb was used 2 times.

As to the narration: David Brenin was OK for me. The women’s voices weren’t so great and there were several times someone in the book laughed and DB couldn’t be bothered. I’ve listened to about 4 other books that were narrated by DB, and there were 2 where I gave him 4 and 5 stars so I know he can be wonderful. Just not in this one.

PS.. These dragons COULD NOT breathe fire or fly. So, what's the point in being a dragon.

I really loved the determination and honesty of this intriguing storyline. It caught my attention and held my heart captive the entire time. This is a series that I would love to delve into more. The characters are fascinating and the story itself is exhilarating.

This story is unique enough that I haven't read another story similar to it yet.

Which character – as performed by David Brenin – was your favorite?
Prince Kyran is by far my favorite character second only to Eve. Kyran is a beautiful character whose heart was completely dedicated and wholly focused on claiming Eve for his heart and his future. He did whatever he could to help her cope and come to terms with her fate with him. He was kind and never cruel. He did everything she asked, and through it all she ultimately allowed herself to fall in love with him.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
If your heart is pure and your determination absolute, you can claim the future you desire.

I really enjoyed this wonderous story that was full of humor, heartfelt emotion, and utter determination. Love truly conquered all.

Females slowly stop being born to the people on Qurilixen so they decide to open the portal and go back to Earth to find females that they can mate with. 4 males from Qurilixen go to Earth and it's Kyran that finds a female first to bring home and mate. But because things have seriously changed since the last time his people were on Earth, he and the other guys are dressed really weirdly and speak even more strangely. The guys end up in a bar where Eve is singing on stage and when Kyran spots her, he's taken with her. They end up talking but she's doing a lot of drinking because it's her birthday, so she doesn't understand that Kyran is pretty much proposing to her and in her drunken state she accepts.

The next day Eve finds herself on an alien planet with Kyran in his tent where he tells her they are now married. He makes a mess of things because he isn't very good at explaining what happened and just expects her to accept or understand somehow what is going on and that's not how she reacts at all.

Because he doesn't understand everything she says, there are some hilarious misunderstandings. But not everyone on the planet are happy to have a human there. There are two species on Qurilixen, the Draig who are dragon shifters and the Var who are cat shifters. Some of the Var made it clear that they don't want human females polluting or diluting their gene pool. I look forward to see where this series takes me.

Spinoff of the highly successful Dragon Lords series. Story takes place in modern day times with a portal that connects Earth to Qurilixen. This is also prior to the Daig and Var becoming hated enemies.

Basically a cute and fantasy feel read for those who read the original series. Has it's moments but for me desperately needed to be fleshed out and developed more. Superficially it had that fairy tale saving the fair maiden vibe going on but totally in a fanciful manner.

For the price and content I'm not a biggie fan though I did appreciate the walk down memory lane to reconnect with the Draig and Var men.

This novella is a spin off from the fabulous Dragon Lords series but all the action predates it as it's all set in modern times. The shifters left Earth many years ago but the portal they used is still active and it's decided to start using it again. Dragon shifter Prince Kyran is one of four who have volunteered to travel to Earth in search of potential brides. Something is very wrong on their planet Qurilixen and the birth rates for females have dropped alarmingly so it's vital if they are to survive that they find females willing to marry them. Kyran has studied the customs on Earth and is more than ready to find the woman meant for him.
Eve has had a difficult life but times seem to have improved recently. She sings in a band , has good friends , it's her birthday, she's got tequila and there's a very hot guy in the club! Oh boy is that strangely dressed guy a tempting sight but waking up next morning on another world? That's so not what Eve expected and as for the sexy guy claiming they are married well that's the most insane thing she's ever heard!
I adore this authors work and never grow tired of reading about her characters and the antics they get up to. Poor Kyran is way over his head and has no idea that the information he has is completely out of date . He is totally confused by his Bride and has no idea why she acts the way she does. He is so sweet to her in his own way but for Eve it's just a completely different world (literally!). It's such fun reading about their interactions and misunderstandings. Poor Kyran never stands a chance but Eve is no push over. Her life has been hard and she has survived so there's no way she is going to willingly give up her independence is there? Well with a very determined Kyran to contend with not to mention her own insane attraction to him perhaps Eve might have to start rethinking things!
I laughed out loud several times whilst reading this short story. It was such fun reading the descriptions of the outfits that the four Princes wear and these guys are totally clueless about modern women. Lots of chemistry between our hero and heroine and of course a sweet romance that just kind of creeps up on Eve. I really enjoy this authors writing style and thoroughly recommend her books to fans of paranormal romance.

I love Michelle Pillow’s work. She never fails to make me laugh. This book was short but sweet and steamy. When Kyran comes to planet Earth looking for a wife, he isn’t aware of the customs or dress and him and his brothers look like something from the 70s and 80s with their dress attire. I laughed so hard, especially when the dreg (spelling?) species told women he was a dreg queen. There’s a lot packed into this book. I do wish it could’ve been longer but after reading the next one it’s see,s fine because they each make up part of what would be a whole. I listened to the audiobook and this narrator has a really good voice.

I’ve read other books from this author & this wasn’t anything like those other books, in a bad way. The 4 princes come across as total idiots, no wonder their races are becoming extinct! Nothing about Eve or Kyran evoked any connection for me, only annoyance. There’s no way I could finish reading this without throwing my iPad across the room...

I rated this book five stars. This book is to read and review. I love reading Michelle I have a lot of her series and enjoyed every one of them. Michelle is very creative, imaginative and talented. Her characters description are inspiring, lovable and full of life. There isn't one of Michelle books that's not entertaining.

Eve Minot is a lead singer of a rock band and she plays the guitar. The band has only been together for three months and have been book for a job in Cleveland, Ohio at a rock club.. Eve enjoys belting out song to the crowds. Eve doesn't have permanent home her home is Paul's Van that they use to travel in. Eve's only friends are her band members which is three females and one male Paul who owns the van and play the drums.
It's Eve's birthday and she's playing her guitar and belting out an "in your face," song. She loves it!

Prince Kryan is a dragon shifter and one of the four princes from Qurilixen. Kryan is also heir to Draig, he and his younger brother Finn lives in the castle with their parents, which is on the Draig Mountains. Their neighbors are a cat shifters called Var. The royals and elder council has taken years to make the decision to revisit Earth. Because on their planet there is a shortage of females. The birth rate of girls are almost none and they need to bring women from Earth to mate and have children, the wait to visit Earth was put off until the situation was critical.

As Eve was performing on stage she notice four strangely dress hot looking men. So after their last set they decided to get shots of tequila to celebrate Eve's birthday. At the bar Kryan was trying to order and pay for their drinks, Eve over heard the bartender not excepting Kryan foreign money, and voluneers to pay. Afterward Eve was flirting with Kryan and because of the language problem assume Eve agree to mate with him and be his wife. There are a number of comical mistakes. But the love scenes is hot and sexy.

The Determined Prince is the first in a Prequel series to the Dragon Lords (Captured by a Dragon-Shifter). Loving The Dragon Lords I was excited about this spin off and can't wait for the rest of the books to come out.
Before there was Galaxy Brides, in a time when the Var and Draig were friends, a shortage of females finds four hunky alien shifters going through a portal to earth in search of brides.
Dressed up as what they believe is desirable earth clothing, the portal lands the four princes in a rock and roll bar. Somehow , from watching television transmissions from earth, they arrive dressed as somewhat akin to The Village People. The fun and adventure continues on from here. With all the charm, romance, sexy, adventure and excitement I always enjoy in Michelle's books, this book was also a five on the hilarious scale.
Kyran, the Draig Prince is the first male selected to find his mate on this mission. When he eyes this strange female with blue streaks in her hair singing on a stage, he is determined to pursue her. Being that it is her birthday, and having more than a few drinks to celebrate, Eve had no problem getting to know the huge hunky "foreign" man dressed up as a cowboy. She is more than a bit freaked out when she awakens in an alien world with three suns.
The banter between Kyran and Eve, the lack of the princes knowledge of modern earth behavior and figures of speech were very entertaining and funny.
Kyran and Eve are enjoyable as hero and heroine, their chemistry is unmistakable.
I love being able to escape into the phenomenal Draig/Var world that Michelle Pillow has created.
This book can be read as a stand alone, and would make a good start to her awesome, full Dragon Lord Series. Guarantee you'll want to read all the books after reading "Determined Prince".

Dragon Lords and Var Lords need Earth woman.
The story is set prior to the Dragon Lords adventures when there was a portal open connecting Qurilixen to Earth.
The people on Qurilixen are comning from an ancient Earth civilization who went to live elsewhere. In time due to the 3 Suns influence they mutated.
Dragonshifter Prince Kyran has studied the Earth people and thought he is ready to find his bride. He is the first of the 4 brothers and crown prince and he will be the first to find his bride.
Kyran sees the most beautiful woman he’s ever imagined, singing rock ’n’ roll on a stage in a bar.

That evening was Eve's birthday and she had more than a few drinks to celebrate. Buzzed from the alcohol Eve wants to "get to know" the "foreign" sexy hunk dressed up as a cowboy. Waking up from her wild night Eve finds herself in an alien world with three suns and the yummy cowboy next to her who is telling her they are married.
It was fun to see Eve making the best of the situation and embracing her marriage. I enjoyed the exchange between Kyran and Eve and I found amusing the lack of knowledge of modern earth expressions, behavior of the Var Lords.
I love the world that Michelle Pillow has created and I am glad she added more stories.

Yes .. I would recommend because many of my friends love Dragon Shifter stories.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed this story because it took me back to when it all began before the brides were chosen by a charm. I also loved that Eve was no easy pushover and the chemistry between her and Prince Kyran was fantastic.

I liked how he handled Prince Kyran.

I was kind of disappointed in this book. It was way too short and underdeveloped for me, for those who started with other books in this series there may be answers to my question in those book. However I don't think I should have had to read books about the future to understand this series set in her worlds past.

I was also a little disappointing that the books is about Dragon-Shifters and they don't even get a full dragon shift with wings, it seems like a cheap knock off of dragons and I didn't care for it.

It was an ok book but nothing I'd want to read again, and nothing I'm raving about to friends.

A nice short read about an alien dragon shifter, Kyran (H), who's a little mixed up about the modern world when he goes to find a mate on Earth, Eve (h). Some humorous moments due to miscommunications. It was fun and not too deep in issues. The story felt like it missed a little on using the dragon shifting more fully in the action. Hot and sexy action was little on the light side too.

I thought this book was really good. It was funny at first because Kyran and the other Prince's have outdated information about what people on Earth are like. But as Kyran and Eve interact there's times you just want to lol. It is a good story and I can't wait to read the rest of the series

Never crazy about kidnapping plots. I thought the 2nd kidnapping was out of left field and resolved very quickly. Blink and you miss it. There are some funny moments when Eve's slang is completely misunderstood. Overall, kept me entertained.

Determined Prince is a good start to the Captured by a Dragon-Shifter series. It is quite different from the Dragon Lords series. The Determined Prince takes place in the present whereas the Dragon Lords takes place in a far away future. The story does explain the separation of the shifters and mankind and why the shifters are returning to Earth to save their species.

Prince Kyran has persuaded both dragon-shifters and cat-shifters that to save their races, it was time to return to Earth to find their mates. It was kind of funny when Prince Kyran and his royal companions tried to assimilate to Earth culture. Much of what they learned are from television and as any readers/listeners know, television communication are a bit slow between planets.

The only thing I didn't like was when Eve decided to have a one night stand with Kyran but ended up on Kyran's home planet, Qurilixen, she went screaming before seeing her surrounding. I would rather have her be confrontation with Kyran and than have a panic attack after she noticed the three suns and that she isn't on Earth anymore.

As any story, there would be opposition of finding mates back on Earth to bring back to Quilixen. I'm glad that Eve's street smart was giving her subtle warning. I definitely would like to see this conflict to evolve in this series.

The narrator, David Brenin did a pretty good job with Kyran trying to communicate the Earth language with Eve. Kyran sounded wooden but it isn't everyday that the shifters decided to return to Earth after hundreds of years have passed by.

Determined Prince is a good place to start with the shifters returning back to Earth. It would be interesting to find out the history from the Captured by a Dragon-Shifter series to the Dragon Lords and Vars series .

This was a good start to what I hope will be a very good series. Eve was a fun character and she had no idea what would happen to her when she got drunk on her birthday and flirted with a hot cowboy. Kyran is one of the princes of the dragon shifters and him along with the cat shifter princes go on a mission to earth to find a bride and they decide he will go first to find a bride. They need to find a bride from earth because their birthdates of females have dropped significantly. The princes have no idea about earth and have only learned from tv shows and movies so of course they don’t learn what earth is actually like and show up dressed in costumes as they look for someone to bring back to their planet. Kyran brings Eve back when he thinks she’s agreed to be his bride and she gets a rude awakening when she wakes up on an alien planet married to a dragon shifter. She insisted she must be insane till she had to realize she wasn’t. And her getting to know Kyran and they butted heads at times and they definitely had some communication issues which were funny. I want to know more about this world and their culture. I hope we get to see Eve and Kyran since this book was a bit short. I wish we had gotten more of this story especially this faction that doesn’t want the human females coming over and polluting their genes. I am curious to see how Eve will affect their bride getting process since she actually understands earth and that you can’t just kidnap someone and expect it to go well. I listened to this as an audiobook and the narrator did a fantastic job with the voices and emotions.

So Much Fun!

Audiobook Review:
I have read several other novels based on this world, and I think I've even read some others in this particular series, but I had forgotten how hilarious this series about the dragon princes is. The dragon shifters came to Qurilixen from Earth centuries ago and have kept up with Earth culture from our transmissions of documentaries, that is, from TV shows! So their view of Earth, Earth culture, and humans is severely skewed! The four princes use a portal to come to Earth to choose the first woman they will take back as one of their princesses. They arrive dressed as a variety of people from TV shows, like a 50s cowboy. While they understand English, they are very literal in their way of thinking and interpreting what others say to them. I can't stress how funny this is. The hero falls for the heroine immediately and can sense she is meant to be his mate. He takes her back through the portal to his home planet. Imagine her surprise when she wakes up the next day a little hung over and in a place with three suns, like none that she's seen. It was great fun to watch their interactions as they came to know each other. The hero is so sincere you can't help but want her to just give it in and become the princess he so desires. There is a hint of danger that comes to fruition at the end of the book. And once the heroine decides to stay with her dragon mate, the book gets deliciously steamy. The narrator did a good job giving the characters unique voices. If you like humorous fantasy romance, this is a really fun one.

Can He Convince Her to Stay?

The Draig and Var shifters on Qurilixen are dying out because for some reason there have been almost no female births since they escaped through a portal from earth. They fled earth to be free from persecution and start a new life. Now their only hope to save both species is to return to earth and try and find brides to bring back with them. It took many years of searching and digging, but now they have found the portal and four of the Princes, two Var and Two Draig, are going to earth looking for a bride. They arrive at the portal dressed in what they think is modern fashion on earth now. Unfortunately, they have been watching old movies from earth and look ridiculous.

Eve Minott is the lead singer in a rock band. The band is her family and she lives in their van. It’s her birthday and they are performing in a bar when four huge guys walk in looking totally out of place. When Prince Kyran first see’s Eve thinks she is odd with her brown and blue hair, but after they start dancing he knows she is the one for him. She is so drunk that eventually she passes out and she wakes up in a tent with Kyran on Qurilixen. He tells her they are married now and she is to be his princess. That doesn’t go over very well! When his parents show up to meet his bride it gets even funnier. She definitely leads him on a merry chase before giving in!

This book is very funny and Kyran and Eve with steal your heart. Can’t wait to see what happens to the other three princes!
