“You vill meet a dahk dangerrous strangah…”  Aurora predicted at the Mardi Gras ball, and as if someone left their Swords of War videogame on “share” in a parallel universe, he walked in. Conor de Sept Flambe, the Dark Knight they’d dubbed him, with his dark gleaming muscles, the distinctive leathery tattoos across his shoulders, armored boots and magnificent flashing swor ...more

It’s the night before Chaos (24 hour period where many Paramortals lose their powers and are weakened humans and where the bad/evil paranormal creatures lay waste to Storm Lake and everyone in it) and our gang of Paramortals are starting to act oddly. They’re slowly losing their powers and evil is infiltrating Storm Lake.

Sheriff Jack is trying to get a handle on things, mostly trying to protect those he cares about: his daughter and Tempest. There’s a new player in town (psst, a dragon) and Jack

More intrigue, suspense, and surprises!

This series just keeps getting better and you wanting more. I love the characters; they are so fascinating. Livia Quinn has a compelling way of describing her characters and scenes that you just do not want to put the book down until you see what happens next. You must read these wonderfully intriguing stories. I am sure you will love them. Happy reading!

In this new instalment, we see more of Montana and her inclination toward Conor, and the beginning of what might be Dylan and Kate's story.

With Chaos approaching, all of Destiny's paramortals are experiencing a change. Not only a loss of their powers, but also a shift in characters. Some become sulkier (Aurora), some goofier (Dylan !), some sicker (Tempe), whereas Freddie, the usually catastrophic handyman, becomes capable, self assured and basically unrecognizable !

As always in this series, t

I freely chose to review this book as I am a HUGE FAN of this author and I wanted to see what happened next, only I read book 3 before book 2, as I'm just lucky that way! The story continues with Montana, a Dinnsencha warrior living in a small town in Destiny, where there more Paramortals than humans and was saved by a 40 foot black dragon when she was attacked by a huge alligator and would have been dead if it wasn't for the jerk that laughed at her walked away when he heard the cops! Felt as if I read half a book instead of the entire story. The paramortals are losing their powers due to the paramoon. They are left unprotected from their enemies and Jack needs help keeping them safe. Secrets come out, along with the power drain. When Jack's wife suddenly appears, both Jack and Jordie are left scrambling.

Livia Quinn grew up near DC—go Redskins!—then moved to the bayous of Louisiana—go Saints! Yes, she’s a huge football fan.
With a life long fascination, read that: phobia of storms, and with severe weather a part of life in Louisiana, it was only natural that it would play a big part in her world. Livia’s Storm Lake series encompasses paranormal on the West end of the lake in Destiny and military r
