Captiva Holiday

Rate this book
Christmas on Captiva Island should be paradise, but for four college best friends, it might be the holiday that changes everything. At the charming Key Lime Garden Inn, old friendships are put to the test when unspoken tensions finally bubble to the surface.

Michael and Brea arrive on Captiva Island, bringing their children, and dog, along with the promise that Michael's free-spirited grandmother, will provide babysitting duty. Fresh off the road from her cross-country van adventures, Grandma Sarah has her own ideas about teaching her great-grandchildren proper manners—and a few lessons in living life to the fullest. While Michael and Brea hope stolen moments together will remind them why they fell in love, Grandma has a thing or two to say about falling and staying in love.

Beth, pregnant with twins, can't stop herself from feeling the loss of female companionship. She misses her mother and sisters, and so when her husband, Gabriel, suggests they travel to Captiva in an RV, Beth agrees to the trip. It feels like the right decision until a winter storm threatens their plans.

Christopher, Becca and baby Eloise, decide to spend the holiday with their families on Captiva Island. It’s Eloise’s first Christmas, and with Becca’s residency match set for Florida, things are quickly changing for this growing family.

Lauren and Sarah, along with Grandma Sarah, do everything they can to help Maggie and Paolo keep the Key Lime Garden Inn running smoothly, while dodging drama that seems to come at them from all angles.

As the inn's staff works overtime to create the perfect Christmas magic, the owners of the inn, Maggie and Paolo Moretti, worry they’re in danger of losing the holiday spirit. As usual, Maggie’s best friend, Chelsea, finds the perfect solution, and Christmas on Captiva Island will never be the same.

Set against the backdrop of Florida's most enchanting barrier island, this is a story about the messy, complicated, beautiful ways we love each other, and how sometimes the best Christmas gift is simply showing up for the people who matter most.

What a Christmas full of Love

Annie Cabot writes a delightful Christmas Story! Captiva Holiday is a book about family, it's what every special Christmas should be about. Just like the very first Christmas when Jesus was born, Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus became the perfect family. Not all families are that fortunate but in this story, family is the heart of the matter. Maggie our main character knows that it won't feel like Christmas in her heart unless her five children are together on Captiva Island. One by one her kids call to make arrangements to come down for Christmas but there isn't enough room at the inn because four thirty something former college roommates decide to reconnect over Christmas at Maggie's Inn. Each girl is going through one crisis or another and hopes to find their answers in the calm quiet beauty of Captiva Island. When all Maggie's kids plus their kids get to the Inn, it is anything but quiet. As Christmas Day rolls around, will each of her children and the four college roommates find the answers they all so desperately need?? Come read Captiva Holiday to enjoy the most feel good Christmas season this year!! And Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas Day!

Read on Christmas Eve

Heartwarming and simply perfect read for the season. Families and strangers, friends and not so much each add a dimension to the story. Some trying to find themselves, some reconnecting but mostly families being together in unexpected situations at different points in their lives. Sharing is caring.

LOVE this series

This series has engaging characters who are growing and adapting to changes as a big, extended family. I have read all 17 books in this series and appreciate the author's development of each person.

One of my favorite authors.

Annie Cabot inspires me to live an even better life. Captiva Holiday, Book 17 was another beautiful story. Great characters and Maggie really knows who to share her words with her family and her quest at the inn. I’m hoping there is a Book 18!
