She floats at my periphery, sweet and innocent, nothing like the life I’m accustomed to. I can’t help but watch her, follow her, love her from afar. Even though I know I shouldn’t.
But to keep her safe, I'll make her my wife, regardless of whether she wants it or not. Our marriage may be arranged, but my ring on her finger will serve as protection from this dangerous life.
I already know my path, and it’s a dark one. The family reign that I’m to take over will always be dangerous. But the closer I get to Tova the more I realize she’s the only light to the darkness that cloaks me.
Watching her may have been my initial plan, but loving her is now why I live. The only thing is, I’d give my life for my family but I won’t give hers.
This is the first book in the A New Reign Series. No cheating, no OW drama, and an HEA is always guaranteed! Each will be standalone

SWEET & spicy mafia romance! Arrange marriage but they both already love each other! GIVE ME THE CRINGE! 💜✨
”She has no idea how badly I want to chase, to hunt, to claim every inch of her.”
Tova is a sunshine & roses type of girl that has a massive crush on the elder Marino boy aka Warren the Master of the House ✨ She is actually excited to marry him EVEN BEFORE she realizes the man is already mad obsessed. Light miscommunication, adorable naïveté & spic smuttiness…
The over-protective mmc with a giant obsession over his girl will personally never get old. Aspects of the story I enjoyed:
💜 arranged marriage
🍬 they play out scenes from her smutty books
💜 double virgins!
🍬 he holds interviews for her possible best friends *the cutest*
Yes, the story can hinge on a little cringe & overly sweet but I was in a mood for it. The writing definitely made up for it because I genuinely enjoyed the characters!
ALTHOUGH not sure how this smoking hot man in his 30s could still be a virgin but…I’ll buy it for the plot 🫡
age gap arranged marriage grumpy x sunshine size difference female friendships light stalking double virgins HEA
Ehhh, it was okay, I suppose. This is unlike the usual length by this author; it's full-length in a way. But reading this feels like it was still a novella. There's not much to the plot, even though it's twice the usual page count from her. Some stuff didn't get explained well and had me questioning them, but I guess I should just let them be.
Brief overview: this was basically about Warren and Tova and their arranged marriage. It was said that there's an age gap (10+??) between them, though their ages weren't really specified. War wanted to make their business more legit, and to do that, he needs connections, but he's not really good with people. His father suggested that he get married to improve how others perceive him, and his father picked Tova. Apparently War saw Tova years ago and decided she's the one. So he moved her family into their farm (like a guarded village or something like that) to keep her safe and close. They've been crushing on each other as well, so this marriage is perfect for them both. Anyhoo, this was about them finally being honest with each other and eventually getting together.
Anyway, like I said, it was okay, though I honestly felt like most of it was just a huge filler, and this can still be told in a novella length.
Book info: - Forced marriage (but not really 😅) - Grumpy x Sunshine - Violence - Age gap (10+??) - No cheating, real OM/OW, separation - Dual V! 💖 - Slowburn - Open door spice - HEA (married)
Warren (no age given, just that he’s 10 years older 😐) has been O B S E S S E D with Tova for years now 👀, so much so that he has come off as asexual to everyone 🤷🏻♀️
Fine by me 🤡.
Warren’s asked to take over the family business and his dad is “forcing” (bahahaha) to marry Tova for *reasons* and Tova’s not too happy since he’s always seemed so standoffish 😬
But that could be further from the truth 😅 because all this time, Warren has been wanting Tova… he’s just been bidding his time 👀
And now it’s time 😉.
What I liked/loved: possible spoilers —how OBSESSED he is with her 👀. She’s the light to his darkness and he needs light in order to survive 🤷🏻♀️ just like we need air to breathe 😅. She’s his air 🫶
—how protective he is ❤️. Don’t nobody even look at her funny, cause he’s not afraid of getting his hands dirty 😮💨
—the 🔥. First kiss happens at 18%, at 22% we get the first 💦 scene (Dry huuuumping needs to get normalized more 💁🏻♀️). There are some steamy scenes almost halfway through, but it isn’t until almost 70% when they go alll the way… and it’s
—dual Vs 😉 (yeah. I don’t care that he’s an older man who’s probably in his 30s, let me believe this okay 😑 lol)
—they have so much 🔥👏🏻 and them acting out scenes from the books she reads? Ufff 😮💨🥵
—his obsession with making her 💦. I love me a man who goes on his knees for his woman and isn’t afraid to get dirty 🥵😉
—stalking/spying 👀. How else is he gonna make sure she’s safe??? Duuuhhhh 🤷🏻♀️
—he’s never *ahem* self-soothed until her 🥹. Isn’t that romantic? 🫶 but also 🥵🔥
—he interviews “friends” for her 🤣
—he calls her little mouse 🥹
—the epilogue ❤️
—the side characters 👀. I can’t wait to continue the series
What I didn’t like/wanted more of: —the amount of times they get c blocked! 😑. Literally. Let these two love birds LOOOOVE (or FFFFF lol)
—the strip club/brothel 😒. Sigh. I’m so glad that Warren’s a v and never even looked at these women, but I hated knowing there’s naked women around when he goes to this business (they have others too)
—ages? Come on 😒. Was she 18? 20? 21? We don’t know 🤷🏻♀️
Overall, I loved this ❤️

DUAL VIRGINS! First and only EVERYTHING! *booty shake, happy dance, booty shake!* Quote, "I'm a virgin, so I can't help it." She picks up her glass to take a sip. "I'm a virgin too, so—" Tova spits her water out, spraying it across the table. "Are you okay?" I stand and go over to her. "Don't joke like that when I'm taking a drink." She holds her hand to her chest. "When did you get all jokey?" "I wasn't joking." Tova stares up at me, blinking. "How?" "I told you that you had nothing to worry about when it came to other women. That day in the garden I told you it was new territory to me when I kissed you," I remind her. end quote.
Safe No cheating No OM/OW No gross condom use A few sporadic separation at the start of a few days No third act break up HEA
I am swooning over Warren Marino, the cold brooding mafioso. He is intense, dangerous, obsessive, possessive, direct, doesn't understand social cues when it comes to emotions and he thinks something is wrong with him. He feels emotionless and incapable of love. He never felt attraction towards the opposite sex until he first lays eyes on his Tova. He felt lust for the first time in his life, his body feeling heat, his sex getting hard, his breath getting shallower as he gazes at the first and only woman to give him such a reaction overpowering him with lust. That was a few years ago, so cut to present time he has been closely watching over Tova making sure she is safe, also because he feels the need to have his eyes on her and drink in her beauty. He is told by his father that he is to marry Tova. He is against it because it would mean that he would show how in love he is with her and therefore have his enemies put a target on her to get to him. To him, she is already his even though he acts cold and distant. He does that strategically so as to not give the impression to others what she means to him. She is EVERYTHING to him and his feelings for her run deep. Tova of course has had a crush on War for years, so she was thrilled when her parents broke the news of this arranged marriage. She lives on the farm with her parents in the mafia family's property. She plays video games with her only friend Marks (more on her later), and loves to tend to her flowers in the garden. Tova is a delight! She is sweet, funny, understanding, shy, coy, loyal, honest, a friend one would love to have and a perfect romantic match for Warren. She goes to his office to talk to him, with a vase of flowers she is hoping he will keep on his desk, but before entering she overhears him, his two brothers (each will have their own story) and father. She overhears this: Quote, “Tova Sullivan? You want me to marry Tova. The flower girl,” I hear War say. I’d know his voice anywhere. My hold on the vase in my hands tightens. There is no missing that he’s not a fan of me. That’s all he sees me as? The flower girl? Ouch..... "Cleaning up?" War says, sounding confused. What, is War suddenly a parrot? "Don't ask this of me. Anything else but this." "No, you've forced my hand. It's time you settled down. You want to take over?" "You know I do." That’s all he cares about. Why I thought differently is my own mistake. "Then this is that last piece." I take another few steps backward before I turn and take off. The tears burn in my eyes. I place the flowers on the kitchen island as I head back out through the patio. end quote.
I am glad he didn't say anything crude or irredeemably hurtful, because she misunderstood what she overheard. Of course this conversation she overheard (which I only put a small part of the exchange), left her heartbroken, so she leaves the flowers and goes to cry by the docks, thinking that Warren thinks lowly of her and doesn't want her in a romantic way the same as she always wanted him. She couldn't be more wrong on this front, as she is all he sees, hears, smells and feels. He doesn't want marriage because it could bring her harm being tied to him. This man is obsessed with her and I am living vicariously through Tova. Her man is wrapped around her pinkie and he melts when she raises her hand to caress his face tenderly. He is entranced by her. This is how the story starts, and there is so much more that unfolds in this long story that I voraciously devoured. Warren is sweet to only her and it is discovered that he is not really asexual as he believes, but Tovasexual! He only ever felt lust and love for her and only her. THIS is what made this hero the gold standard in romance. He and even she, never felt attraction for the opposite sex, never felt lust or turned on by anyone other than each other. For him, the only woman to make him start fantasizing and masturbating is her, and for her, the only man to ever make her fantasize and imagine his face on once faceless heroes in the smutty books she reads is Warren's. Warren never even masturbated before, which made him feel broken, but he isn't broken! His body, mind, heart and soul simultaneously lit up in a roaring inferno for one woman. Tova. THAT is how couples in romance should be and it made Warren the BEST HERO I have read in recent memory! Quote, I'd long ago resolved myself to my obsession with Tova. There has never been an attraction or sexual desire toward another woman. I've never had it. It's why I knew I was so different from everyone else. end quote. I don't want to reveal anymore when in comes to our lovebirds and the sequences of events. There are two more stories in this series I am looking forward to, Marks her hacker friend coupled with the burly brother Ronan and we have Z the hacker brother (who was adopted by the family so not a brother by blood) and Warren's sister Cosima. One thing to explain is the dynamic between the two would feel wrong without this revelation, but Cosima is siblings to Warren and Ronan by blood. Although Z is one of the brothers, he was unofficially "adopted" when he was a little boy for his own protection, so they grew up together but Z is not related by blood to Warren, Cosima and Ronan. Z and Cosima's story I think will be a forbidden romance of sorts. They grew up together and were close, but when they grew up, feelings changed and she was sent off to Europe to boarding school. She feels left out and ignored especially by Z whom she always felt close to. She is home now and all these two do is bicker back and forth. She is hurt he is being this way with her and he doesn't know how to handle his feelings for her. There is a first chapter written in this novel for their story "Honor and Claim", and after reading it, my eagerness to read it grew tenfold! It comes out at the end of this month. After that I think Marks the hacker is going to be paired with the burliest, of the brothers and I am hoping that both will be DV of course. Seeing as Lucy Darling is giving us DVs one after another, I am confident she will make this series DV (I am crossing fingers and toes just for good luck). I am confident that Z and Cosima's story will be because they grew up together and he was adopted as a boy, so there shouldn't be anyone else for either of them, and as for Marks and her future beau Ronan, I am hoping secretly for him to be the big, burly, growly alpha who is clueless about women and has the same lustful awakening for only Marks. I wish for him to be a big cinnamon roll for his woman only, the kind that would think that when a woman winks at him, he is so clueless he thinks there must be dust in her eye. That kind of sweet, innocent giant (my weakness) coupled with Marks to balance him with her sneaky, sassy, savy sweetness. This is the best book I read this year. Bold claim, but I love DV when it is expressed many times throughout the book that the hero and heroine experience all their firsts together. That is the heartbeat of romance for me and we get that with Warren and Tova. I am still swooning as I have a weakness for heroes like Warren whom experience in the literal sense ALL his romantic firsts with one woman. Heroes like him are rare in the romance sphere, so I treasure them. There is a quote that had me grinning ear to ear suggesting that Ronan and Z have no clue about women, same as Warren and its when they ask him if he needs dating advice: Quote, "How about you finish with this guy?" Ronan nods to the knocked-out man. "Then we'll give you dating tips." "You two have dating tips?" I glance between the two of them. Z is married to his computer, and I'm not sure what the fuck Ronan does in his free time, but it's not romantic. "We got Google," Z says, like we're the dumbest shits in the world end quote. This had me in stitches because of the delivery and had me smiling eagerly anticipating their stories! This book has great humour and witty banter in it between the girls and the guys which made the read delightful. The friendship between the girls was so incredibly sweet and felt natural. The seriousness of the mafia world is well balanced with witty banter and lightened the overall mood which made for an enjoyable read. The sex scenes were scorching hot and the romance was so swoon worthy it made me sigh happily and left me with a smile. This made me so happy and I will read "Vows of Obsession" again and again and again! I loved, loved, LOVED it and I urge you to read it! Thank you Lucy Darling! Happy reading everyone!
I enjoyed this, I love dual virgins 🥰 Especially when the mmc is practically a robot with everyone else and all his feelings and emotions are for the fmc only!
Dual pov Age gap? I think she said he was at least 10 years older but their ages weren’t said, but he was also apparently obsessed with her for a few years before they got together so I would have liked to know ages. Arranged marriage Safe no owd/omd Dual virgins! Each other’s first and only everything HEA Epilogue a few months later I think, they’re pregnant with a baby girl

3.5 stars. I didn’t hate this but I didn’t love this
It has the makings of a good book but I wasn’t satisfied with the execution. I didn’t really enjoy the first half. Apparently War has been obsessed with Tova for years. Enough to move her onto his family farm to keep her close while also always keeping her at arms length. I hate when authors take a grown ass man and make him be rude and dismissive to the FMC because he wants her and doesn’t know what to do with that. I will never understand that!! It’s so childish to me.
So when Tova overhears him and his brothers and father talking about her and they say some not so nice things I’m like come on girl stand your ground. But of course the girl has BBS and doesn’t even bring up what she heard before she lets him kiss her and do other things. And then when she finds out he’s at his strip club the night before their wedding, she’s mad for all of five seconds but then caves because her body tells her to. Another thing I will never understand that authors do, it’s so frustrating. He says he’s been obsessed with her for years but it’s very vague on their actual ages just states the fact that he’s 10 years older. Which makes me think he started having feelings for her when he shouldn’t have or at least when she turned 18 because Tova reads very young. I mean she doesn’t even have a bank account.
Speaking of this strip club. This family owns a club where the front is a strip club and the back is a brothel. Ugh. This was so unnecessary to me. It didn’t add anything to the book and it just annoyed me. It made no sense for them to have that. They have this “family business” which we have no freaking clue what that business even is. We are never told. They act like a mafia family but they aren’t. They have legitimate and non legitimate businesses and docks and warehouses but we have no idea what they even are!! The plot was non existent and the conflict was so lack luster and didn’t even feel concluded.
The second half was better because War stopped being kind of an asshole. He was sweet in his own way. He was obsessed with and protective of Tova. I thought it was cute when she told him she wanted a friend and he held interviews to try and find and friend for her. He would literally do anything for her and that made the book better. But still everything I talked about above kept it from getting more stars. Also the fact that he hadn’t felt any arousal until he met Tova made it better. I did think it was weird how we barely even saw her parents after they got married even though they lived on the same land. They completely disappeared.
I’m actually more interested the next two books. Z and Cosima gave off sexual tension vibes and I was like ehh that’s kind of weird seeing as they are siblings but finding out Z was adopted made much more sense so I’m intrigued by their book which is next.
NO CHEATING NO OP DRAMA NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP DUAL VIRGINS ARRANGED MARRIAGE HEA (married and pregnant)
This author never lets me down!! Another stellar book from Lucy D!! A very obsessed hero who may be slightly or a lot autistic (he has trouble understanding emotions, but feels them all with the heroine!) and the slightly awkward, sweet and shy heroine he is completely head over heels for!
The hero has been doing his best to keep himself away from the heroine, in a misguided attempt to protect her from harm and making her a target for his enemies. But when given a nudge, he can’t help but maneuver the two of them into marriage! For her part, the heroine has been in love with him for years but doesnt think he even likes her! Little does she know her scowling, growly new husband is more than a little obsessed!
Totally safe! Dual virgins, they belong only to each other!! No ow/om no cheating or sharing or abuse between MCs. HEA with epilogue and baby on the way!
I read 51%, my personal bench mark I have to read in order to rate. And good grief - mafia? dark romance? The heroine was more masculine than he was. Ugh, another going in blind that didn't work. I'm beginning to think Bride was an anomaly for me. Anyway, if you like guys that act like girls for their........girls? you may enjoy. Or not. KU or I'd have had a lot more to say.
This book was EVERYTHING! From start to finish I was entrance with Tova & War, and my love for the two of them only got stronger as I read. The story was fantastic, the steamy romance and sweet romance was insanely good, and I just adored everything about Tova. Seriously she came into this new situation like a boss, and It was so funny how she had Warren wrapped around her little finger. The way War began to understand his own ability to feel love with Tova was so sweet, and I just love that this huge scary man was ready to do anything to make his adorable wife happy. This was a perfect read in my opinion, and I’m spiked for the other two stories in the near future!!!
I don't care how cheesy this was, I enjoyed every moment. War is so adorable and the way he loves Tova omg 🫠 I can't wait to read Z's book next he's already a goner for Cos..
There was nothing wrong about this story but nothing overly engaging either. It was ok and pretty low angst. The both like each other and actually want the marriage, they just don't know the other one feels the same way. I just didn't really believe that he was as tough as portrayed and she was pretty one-dimensional.
Que lindos que son, de verdad que este libro es de esos para pasar el rato cuando uno no quiere pensar mucho, una trama fácil, rápido de leer y con un romance muy bonito y obsesivo, War me super encantó, y ella igual, voy a seguir leyendo los demás
Obsessed man, sunshine girl, and a world stepped in dark deeds and family secrets. Could the stakes be any better for the new full-length novel by one of my favourite writers?
I've read many stories by this author and I love the catchy plots mixed with cute characters and hot lovemaking. This is just as good but longer! What a treat.
Just the title is exciting. A marriage of convenience is the strong starting point where Cova finds herself engaged to the man of her dreams only to find out this love deal has its rollercoaster cons.
I had so much fun with this novel. Warren is a cold man who suddenly cannot control his lust and feelings for the sweetest girl ever. She brings light and laughter to his family compound where his brothers and him reign over the city with an iron business hand. There's tenderness and hot times, there's a lot of comedy regarding his brothers and the girls they seem to secretly long for, and even danger lurking underground that provides a lot of thrills and surprises.
It's a lovely story of love and learning to understand someone's unique way of caring and protecting. I found the misunderstandings and how they learned to communicate with each other very endearing. And I'm looking forward to Cosima and Marks' stories too. This new series looks so appetizing!
Ok look I didn’t think I’d fall this hard for a guy named Warren but here we are. He’s intense, broody, morally grey, definitely giving ‘high-functioning yet socially feral’ and I was absolutely into it. From the start it’s clear he’s all in on Tova, and that unwavering devotion just absolutely hit the right spot for me.
Tova and Warren both had feelings for each other before their arranged marriage but the mutual pining and miscommunication made it extra satisfying when everything clicked … I just loved them both. She was super sweet yet had a backbone, he had bite and together it worked.
Honestly this book scratched my obsessive MMC itch in the best way. No cheating, no OW/OM drama and a guaranteed HEA? … SAY. LESS. I’ll be bingeing the rest of this series immediately.
I pushed through the first half as I wasn’t enjoying it however the 2nd half was much better. The MMC kept the FMC at arms length for no reason at the start and kinda ignored her which was annoying but he came to his senses. It was an easy light mafia read.
POV: Dual, 1st person. SERIES or STANDALONE: 1st in series, can be read as a standalone. TROPES: M/F adult, age gap, stalkerish, mafia romance. SIZE: 220 (last page) Kindle pages. CHARACTERS: Warren ‘War’ (early 30s) & Tova (early 20s)
Warren aka War and Tova were made for each other. She is sweet and he is well the body of War. His the perfect man to lead his family, but the only problem is he has a weakness and that could be a problem in his family business. But in the end it doesn't matter because all he wants is for the love of his life to be happy. This book was so good. I could not put it down. I cannot wait for book 2, I am so excited for Z and Cosima story.
5/5 ⭐️ 4/5 🌶️ (not kinky, But quantity and quality were on point to give it 4 chilis)
10 year age gap Arranged marriage He falls first (and obsessively hard) She has a crush on him Dual virgins Dual POV Mafia lite (mild violence, nothing too crazy)
The beginning of the book starts off with a misunderstanding between both characters. I usually despise the whole miscommunication trope, but for this book I will allow it because the characters did not establish their relationship with each other yet and were practically strangers. I look forward to the next read!!!
Obsessed hero and heroine, marriage of convenience, hidden feelings and over protectiveness, loads of sex and sweet talk leading to a happy ending. Some drama in the middle and is good length but I was more intrigued by the couples of the upcoming books.
Lucy Darling is my go-to when I need a quick safe pallet cleanser. This was super sweet and safe with an added bonus of Dual Vs for my safety gang girls!
