I enjoyed the book. It was nice to see new characters introduced that helped you understand Gwen's issues. I also liked how some minor characters had a bigger part in this book. Am looking forward to see how the series endsss. Will Gwen pick Daniel or Steven? Will Rachel and Annie stay together? ...more

This series is great with💕 romance, angst and 👭 sisterly affection; I thought sisters Gwenn and Rachel were happily settled in Finding My Favorite, the first full novel in the series, and I was SO wrong! Like in real life, unexpected events have a way of changing things, sometimes to the good but not always. And each sister has a crisis on her hands; luckily, they can turn

This book did not disappoint, except maybe by ending too soon. I cannot wait to read the final book of this series. The author does such a wonderful job making you feel connected to Gwenn and Rachel, the two main characters and sisters. Not only am I invested in these characters and their lives, but I also get a real understanding of the powerful and moving bond between sisters that I have never experienced personally. The author does an amazing job of describing this relationship in a way you f ...more

Rue's Lake Effect Series consists of three books. The second one is aptly called, My Favorite Second Chance. Rue has written an eclectic group of characters: Gwenn who is torn between two men, her sister Rachael and her rock star girl friend, their parents--Pastor Ed and Shirley, and Daniel, Todd, and Flora. The characters are flawed and well developed. You can't help but root for them. Their lives are complicated and far from boring. This book works as a stand along, but things won't be resolve ...more

♦ Oh don’cha know. Those Minnesota sisters are back. Book two in The Lake Effect series sends us right back to the land of excess snow, the jucy Lucy and the story of Rachel and Gwenn. The theme in My Favorite Second Chance is redemption. Rachel has come out to her parents and is happily back together with Annie and Gwenn and Dan

At the end of Book #1 we saw Gwen finally getting a happy ever after with Daniel and Rachel came out of the closet with her rockstar girlfriend Annie and all seemed to be going well. That however is all about to change in Book #2 of The Lake Effect Series as we discover that six years ago Gwen was engaged to a guy from the Peace Corps and that when she told him she was pregnant , he ran off to serve for the country and she never heard from him again. Turns out that he has been held captive for t ...more

My Favorite Second Chance by Rue is the second book in the Lake Effect Series featuring the Hutchinson sisters, Gwen and Rachel. At the start of the book, Gwen appears to have found her happily ever after with Daniel. Rachel is struggling with her girlfriend’s plans to take her band on tour – which she really has to do because the band will be the opening band for Prince.

Enter plenty of complications. For Gwen, her ex, Steven, from six years ago who took off after finding out she was pregnant s

My Favorite Second Chance is women’s fiction and is the second book in the Lake Effect Series. I read the first book and was looking forward to reading this one.

The main characters in this series are sisters Rachel and Gwenn. They both have a lot of baggage because of their dysfunctional parents but are supportive of each other. Gwenn has been in several bad relationships and now that she’s in one that she’s content in, her first love, S

I liked the book as I finished it ones day. And after getting the sneak paek of this book in the first had me intrigued very much. And I liked it very much as it had much more about Rache tan previous one as she is my fav among her and Gwenn.
I love the bond between the Hutchison sisters, they fight but they are always there for each other. They were funny but sometimes a little annoying, I guess it is just me.
I just felt that Todd and Flora's POV would have been better in a sepa

I absolutely loved My Favorite Second Chance. I liked the story line, although if you have an aversion to reading about gay romance, you might want to skip the book or skim over those chapters. If you skip over the chapters, the book would still read smoothly.

It was essentially a story about mothers and daughters, although at the heart of the book was love and romance, which gave each character strength and determination.

The writing was good and I had to laugh when I got to the end of the book

I haven't read a romance novel in years so this was a change for me. I also hadn't read the first book in this series so I wasn't sure I would know what was going on however, that wasn't the case.

Rue has a flair with words and I found myself infatuated with her characters able to complete this book within two days. Hey, I have a life outside of reading.

This is not your average woman meets man, they fall in love

I found this book easy to read. Rue makes the back and forth of the characters point of view flow flawlessly. You get to see a more in depth of the characters. it made me laugh and cry.

Rachel and Gwenn are sisters and the have baggage. But no matter what they support each other. Gwenn is in love but her first loves has showed back up. Rachel is in love with Annie. Can Rachel and Gwenn fight for what they want or will they let it all
