Neo led the charge on this one and helped take me into the world of Biggety Bat. On a hot day in the mangrove trees, Biggety is flying around and trying to identify all the sounds he hears. Each one is a friend of his eating a mid-day meal. Alas, none of these delicacies appeal to Biggety and he's left a little sad. After numerous letdowns, Biggety comes across a slew of mosquitos. Aha! Now's he's found something and his appetite has been handled. Lucky for him, no one else wants to share! Neo c ...more

Cute story about a bat's search for lunch in a Florida swamp. Introductions to new types of native swamp animals. Rhyme and repetition great for early readers.

Biggety obviously doesn't live in the more Northern half of North America. He meets Cockoos, Alligators, Turtles, Frogs and Spoonbills all having their dinner while he flies in search of his own dinner, mosquitoes. I think that covers the larger words.

Has great Ryme and repetition so children can gain confidence as they go. After all, once you get Biggety it's not a far leap to Diggety!

Cute!
