Kat is embracing her new life, learning everything she can from her grandmother Rose, so she can finally feel like she belongs. Boy-related stress, secrets and a dangerous power that seems to be stalking her, all add up to make an interesting summer.

*I would like to thank the author for sending me a copy of this book to read and review.*
Going into this book, I was surprised to learn about some of the new things that was introduced in this world. I thought it was really cool since I've never read a book that had this aspect in it. There's so much more to this world and I loved that about this book.

A captivating read!
I enjoyed the first, but loved the second.
The beginning seemed a little rocky to me, a lot of sitting through boring meetings and listening to Kat repeat the same questions without answer, learning tiny bits of information so slowly that I didn’t really care. I just wanted Kat to do something. To take charge and stop hovering in her grandmother’s peripheral. As it was for Kat, it was for me. Frustrating.

As the title suggests this book is enchanting. I loved it. The reader is entranced into following, the near to be, sixteen year old Kat as she leaves everything familiar to start a new life with her grandmother. Unknown to her, at first, is that her birthday will bring more than she could ever have expected.
The characters are well developed, the plot smooth and believable, the writing flawless. I eagerly anticipate K.K. Allen's next book, a sequel to this one. I recommend this book to all reader ...more

An Absolute Intense And Wonderful Read!
This is the 2nd Book in K.K. Allen's Summer Solstice Series. And it does not dissapoint! I had been gifted the first book in this series in exchange for an honest review, and I honestly loved it! (You can read my review of Enchanted here!) So much so, that I immediately purchased books 2 and 3!!!
This book picks up approximately 1 week after the end of things in book 1. Kat is looking for a job, not because she needs one, but she just wants one. Rose would r ...more

This is the second book in series, and it did not disappoint. K.K. allows more depth in the characters to arise. Enough questions from the first book are answered that you aren't frustrated as a reader. More questions come about to keep you intrigued and eager for the next installment. The chemistry between the lead and her love interest are palpable. (I refuse to spoil it so no names here folks) New characters with extraordinary talents come into the plot showing just how big K.K.'s imagination

4.5 stars!!! I really enjoyed this second installment of the Summer Solstice series :). The addition of the mermaids was a wonderful touch, and added a new layer of magic for me. I really loved the relationship between Kat and Johnny, but the ending felt a little abrupt for me. I wish we would have gotten to see more of them together. I can't wait to read the final book in this series and discover what happens with the Equinox, and please lord let there be more of Johnny.

The book two the Equinox is another success of KK. Allen, very well written and important that it's clear and easy to read. Some books are confusionary but not the Equinox, and it's not boring at all. The ability of the author is to have always something to reveal, one thing about Kat's mother that surprised her a lot, the Valli's sisters that are mermaids, just to name a few. Always a pleasure to read KK. Allen books and I recommend to read it.

A great book! I really enjoyed this new book in the series. KK Allen did a great job of thickening the plot and writing an agaging read. Like the first book, it's very well written; no typos or errors in grammar. I love the ending. Overall, the story takes the reader through twists and turns, until a very surprising end.

The Equinox was every bit the book that Enchanted was, if not more. It seems that Allen outdid herself with her second book, and blasted away second book syndrome with ease. I was hooked back into this enchanting world once again right from the first page. Sliding into this book was easy and made my nights at work a little harder because I just did not want to put the book down.

I thought I loved the first one but then I read this and I really LOVED this one! It had so much that makes me love this series so much more like mermaids. Yes it has freaking mermaids in it and who doesn't like mermaids?

This is going to be one of the greats ...
The Equinox is a perfect pick-up from Enchanted as we go deeper into the main character’s lives and meet some new characters who add even more flavor to the Summer Solstice series. What an awesome Book Two from Ms. Allen who gives her readers exactly what they have been asking for since the major cliffhangers of Book One kept us at the edge of our seats, our only disappointment being that we wanted more. Okay, so maybe I’m not a young adult, or even a middle-aged adult, but I recognise a well-written story when I see one. My heart was gladdened to see that this is a young author who knows how to pitch a sequel.
There are too many writers who write a follow-up story in the wrong frame of mind. They want to continue the tale, but they forget that the reader may have read the first book a long time beforehand. Here, we see that K.K. Allen bears this in mind, as she drip-feeds the necessary informati ...more

Isn't it wonderful when you fall in love with the first book of a series and when you read the second book in the series you love it even more! That's what happened when I read The Equinox. We continue to follow Kat as she becomes more involved in the Enchanter community. We also get to know some of her friends more in depth as they become a larger part of her life. New characters are also introduced, like the Valli sisters. The residents of Apollo Beach are in fear and are struggling to come up

I didn't think it was possible, but I loved this book even more than the first. All of the wonderful characters from the first book are back, and some new ones are introduced. Kat has finally accepted her rich heritage and begun to grow into her amazing powers under the over-protective eye of her grandmother, Rose. (I love Rose because she reminds me of my own grandmother.) She's a loving woman with the stubbornness of a mule.

Continuing where "Enchanted" left off, "The Equinox" does what few sequels are able to do... it's better than the original. Here, we see Katrina Summer coming into her own as an Enchanter. The awkwardness is gone, replaced by a much more confident young woman eager to live her new life.
As the title suggests, the pivotal plot point is the search for the Equinox, crony of the big bad known as Erebus who has it in for all Enchanters in general and Kat Summer in particular. Kat tries not to let the ...more

This is a worrying and dangersous time for the residents of Appolo Beach after the events that occurred at Alec's 4th of July party.
Katriona Summer is tying to control and manage her magic as she , along with fellow Enchanters and their supporters face the ominous threat of the Equinox. Kat has a determination to help other 16 year old descendants come to terms with the knowledge that she herself struggled with.

The Summer Solstice series has become a new favorite of mine. I love everything about it so far and cannot wait for the next book, The Descendants, to be released. They are a magical and enchanting read full of excellently executed twists and turns in the plot. It is such a joy to read these books.

KK Allen’s fantasy world is built around Apollo Beach, and Harry Potter fans will love her new world of magic. KK Allen’s characters are real people, with real personalities, and each character is a bit mysterious. Some are even mermaids in disguise. The reader wants to know more about him or her, and the pages keep turning. Erebus, the God of Darkness and the Equinox, an ageless serpent with a quest, provides a fearful underworld of evil that threatens to destroy all that is good and wholesome

Having read and loved The Summer Solstice, I was keen to read the follow up to this amazing adventure featuring the wonderful characters that K.K Allen has created. The lives of the descendants of the gods have become rather more complicated with the Equinox being a fearsome adversary who continues to threaten Kat’s community and the world at large. The story progresses at a good pace, and Kat grows and develops beautifully whilst learning about her new role and how to deal with the community’s

Book 2 of the Summer Solstice picks up where book 1 left us and is, in my opinion, even better than the first.
The well-developed characters from Enchanted are back and some new ones are introduced. The new characters are as dimensional as the familiar ones.
Kat continues to grow into her powers, as she faces betrayals, new challenges and new friendships.
K.K. Allen has, once again, taken me on a journey to Apollo Beach, and now that I'm home I can't wait to go back.
Hurry up with book 3, K.K.

I had the privilege of receiving an advanced copy of The Equinox and was hugely impressed...
K.K Allen has superbly developed her story from part one. In part two everything is ramped up. There is more danger, more glamour and for me and best of all there is now most definitely romance and sexual tension in the relationship between Kat and Johnny. As a straight man I found Johnny ‘disturbingly’ attractive and am sure Ms. Allen’s female readers will go wild for his smouldering good looks.

Great second book in the Summer Solstice series. The book was full of suspense and magic. I really enjoyed the characters and watching them all grow and change. I’m in love with the sea creature loving, Johnny. His compassion for the sea life melted my heart and had me guessing who he really was. I literally am dying that I have to wait to read the next book in the series! I will definitely be getting it. Great read and a wonderful series!

The Summer Solstice had me completely under its spell. The Equinox had me in a puddle of feels that involved more than one fangirly squeal. This book is a fantastic sequel and I can't wait for the third! I bow down to K.K. Allen :D
Warning: the end will contain all the feels and the epilogue will be like *o* woah.
I recommend this series to everyone.
