Every ten years a convention is held in a neutral location where people from all the realms come together and reunite. This is no ordinary conference, though, because everyone who shows up holds a place of honor in the legends of old. But there’s one person who doesn’t care that Earth is neutral territory. The Evil Queen, Naomi, is out to settle a score, and she’s brought ...more

I demand for more books of this series to come out as quickly as possible! You hear me, God?! Help the writer deliver more soon, I'm dying here!!!

And with this prologue in mind, try to get in my shoes, because I'm really over the moon with this book, and I think I developed a new kind of syndrome for Babin's writing, despite reading a book of hers for the first time - let's call it "Babinism" for now, ok? So, yeah, try to be patient with this fangirl here, since yours truly is still trying to ke
This is a really unique revamp of the Snow White Fairy Tale. I would like to mention though that there is a second book about the characters which I didn’t know until I was half way through the book which miffed me just a bit. Nevertheless this is a fantastic read and in the end I loved it. But I do not like a cliffhanger. 4 dysfunctional stars. Another plus point is that “How I Met Your Mother” is mentioned.

Snow White ran away from the Enchanted Forest due to the Evil Queen/Stepmom Naomi. Snow

I am enjoying reading books that are new versions of stories from our past; from our childhood. This is a another new twist on Snow White, including the Huntsman. I thoroughly LOVED this book.

The story is set in modern times. Snow has been chased from her kingdom by the evil stepmother, Naomi. Naomi’s ultimate goal is to stay queen. The kingdom is in another realms, and the book always talks about Snow’s life “on Earth.” Snow’s roommates are Belle (yes that Belle), and Cyndi (“Cinderella”). Sno

This is an interesting twist on the classic fairy tale, with Snow a cryptozoologist by day, PI by night. She (and her two BFFs Belle and Cyndi) are living amongst us mortals after being on the run from her stepmother, who as we all know, wants her dead. Unfortunately she has to attend the Magical Convention, which will bring her face-to-face with not only her stepmother Naomi, but also Max the Huntsman, who she has the hots for.

Ten years after the Huntsman allowed Snow's escape from the Enchanted Wood, she receives an invitation to a convention for fairy tale and mythological characters. Knowing her stepmother, Queen Naomi, wants her dead, and that the Huntsman may not be able to resist the compulsion to kill her, Snow is reluctant to go. Her friends Cyndi (yes Cinderella) and Belle convince her to attend. Snow rapidly learns that unless she acts, the Enchanted Wood will remain forever under the power of Queen Naomi.

I received a copy of this novel through Bliss Book Promotions in exchange for my honest opinion, and I absolutely loved this novel! It tells the story of Snow who was chased from her world ten years ago by Naomi, her stepmother, and Max, the huntsman. Now she lives with her best friends, Belle and Cyndi and things are okay, that is until she receives an invitation to the convention. Overall, I thought this novel was great. I love fairytales, so I definitely appreciated the guest appearances by B ...more

Grrrr. Rasa-frackin' cliffhanger.

Well done, Ms. Babin. Well done.

I'll be back...when the next book comes out.

I have so many issues with the backstory. In fact, I kept going back to make SURE this was the first book in the series because I kept thinking that there must be another book where she explained everything. Why are Belle and Cinderella without their princes? How is the evil queen controlling people? Why haven't her people rebelled? How does the Enchanted Land interact with this one? Why, in god's name, is there a conference for being a fairy tale character when the land is apparently just anoth ...more

I’ve loved all books by S. E. Babin but this one might just be my new favorite. As a young girl I loved fairy tale books as all girls did but as an adult you come to realize that fairy tales are just that, fairy tales. Life is not always rainbows and unicorns or perfect princesses and princes. Who needs that when you can have snarky kick ass princesses who can wield a gun or a knife with the best of them. Snow White is just that and when the evil queen comes to kill her and her friends Cinderell ...more

Well, what could be a better way to start a new year - with a book! And this retelling reimagining of the tale of Snow White was perfect.

For lack of a better word this story was “Cool” or “Hip” or whatever. The characters many of whom we all know from our childhood are there in the telling - but they also blend seamlessly with the modern world.

It’s an action tale - a tale of good and evil a tale of love and loss. The only killer for me was the “cliffy” ending.

Now that is a Snow White retelling! Snow fights back after being chased out of her home. I like it! It's not a place that has many happily ever afters but strives for happy endings. But Snow tries and tries to fight her own battles with her best friends Cindy and Belle at her side. Snow is awesome! Great teen read. I really enjoyed this one!

A great retelling of a fairy tale.

Everything this author writes is always good and I am in love with this remake of a well known fairy tale! Snow is a fantastic character along with her friends, Belle and Cinderella. I loved every word!

I had a few issues with this book. The first and most importantly being Snow herself. I didn’t like her. She’s abrasive and tetchy and not particularly likable. It’s perfectly understandable that she has a few issues thanks to being chased out of her own kingdom, but she’s violent and angry and annoying, and pretty inconsistent. One minute she doesn’t want anything to do with the Enchanted Forest, the next she’s hurt that no one from there wants much to do with her either. I completely didn’t bu ...more

I really enjoyed this book! I love this author, and I'm a huge fan of her Abby series so was kind of expecting this to be more of the same, but with different characters. However, it is much different and I enjoyed even more for those differences! I love reading modern takes on Fairytales and especially when they mix all the characters together. If you like the show Once Upon a Time, I think you will love this series!

Lets get what I don't like out of the way because there wasn't much. I don't like the cover, I just think that it is a little I don't know.. kitschy. I personally think that it could have been done in a different way but the cover did not take away from the rating or the book it was more of a side note after I finished the book.

This book is set in the modern era so while there are bows and arrows, there are also glocks and sub machine guns. This is important because I believe this is one of the

The Hunt For Snow is the first book in the Fairytale League series by S.E. Babin. Snow’s past is shrouded in mystery. Mild cryptozoologist by day, private investigator by night, Snow is dead set on one thing, staying far away from the Huntsman who haunts her dreams. When she shows up to a conference for those from the Enchanted Forest with her two best friends in tow, things start going awry right away. Mere minutes after arriving, they find themselves thrust back into the world they’ve tried so ...more

Words cannot express the comedy, suspense, and fantasy from this book. You have Snow White, the seven dwarfs, Cinderella, Malevolent, Red Riding Hood, Robin Hood, and many others. The author did an excellent job with the descriptions and details of the characters and scenes. This book is an adult fairy tale and will keep you interested right from the start. Beware of the cliffhanger at the end! I'm ready for the next book in this series.

The Hunt for Snow is a fun, action-packed fairy tale retelling, featuring some of my favorite characters. The one thing that really ate at me though is the cliffhanger ending. I really connected with the characters and was disappointed to be left hanging.

Snow was a bit more abrasive than I'd like, and she was quite the badass. After being driven out of her kingdom by her stepmother, she settled in our world with her best friend

Book Review- The Hunt for Snow by S.E. Babin

In this first Fairytale League book Snow is the actual Snow White who fled to Earth after her evil step-mother, Naomi, sent the Huntsman to kill her. She has been gone for ten years. She now has her own business and lives with Belle and Cindi.
When Snow is invited to the Fairytale Conference, she doesn’t want to go. She has been in hiding from Naomi. Belle and Cindi talk her into going. Snow wants the chance to see the Huntsman, Max. He makes her heart

Set in the modern world, The Hunt for Snow is a twist on the fairy tale we all know and love. After the Huntsman was sent by her stepmother, Naomi, to kill her, Snow flees to Earth to escape. With nothing but the silk dress on her body (and a bag of jewelry from her father), Snow creates a new life for herself.

I really like how the author turned an old fairy tale into a new one. Snow is now a PI at night, living with her best friends Belle (yes, that Belle) and Cyndi (aka Cinderella). She is not

Wow. This was a GREAT book. S.E. Babin throws drama, action, humor/sarcasm and comes up with this wonderful book blending fairy tales thrown into an updated modern day-type scenario. This really is meant for adults.

The fairy tale Snow White that we all know is very innocent, demure, and a hard-worker. This up-dated Snow White is DRIVEN and will do whatever it takes to achieve her agenda. And her agenda right now is to take back the kingdom from Queen Naomi. I like her best friends, Cyndi (Cinde
I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review. This in no way influenced my opinion or rating of 2.5 Stars.

I was drawn in by the book description, and I was let down. The beginning had a TON of quotes I highlighted (and giggled over), and the banter between Snow, Cyndi, and Belle worked. Almost perfect.

Then the conference happened. And the story went downhill. I'm still not sure why a conference was used for a plot device, or why the characters did some of things they did (I'm t

Looking for Snow

When the portal to earth was opened, Snow came through with only a dress and a small bag of jewelry. She.quickly became a PI and a noted cryptozoolist. As time goes on, she has to attend the various balls and conference s. Although her wicked stepmother,Naomi, skirmishes for her blood, Snow knows that her time in hiding will close someday. As she gets ready for the ball, the batsman Max, tells Snow that not only is Naomi is still after her. Max is still under a compulsion to kill
I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I actually really enjoyed this story. The author does a pretty awesome job of creating a fairy tale world. However, this isn't your favorite Disney tales. This is a great adult version of some of my favorite fairy tales. I cannot wait until the next installment. The only thing I did not like was that for all of Snow's strength she kind of was not very smart at times. She gave to trouble way to easily. I think the author was trying ...more

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley. I thought come on another fairytale this is no ordinary tale. I love that it is a modern day story with all the usual suspects but they are modern day. I love that Snow is not a lost little girl she is a ass kicking woman who will fight this time and not let the Queen get the upper hand. Can she trust the Huntsman this time or will it end badly. Great story loved it

Snow White with a twist

Chased from her home and escaping to Earn h, Snow White has tried to fit in. Going so far as to train and become both a Professor and Private Investigator. When she is invited to a computer inference for other Fairy Tale brings things begin to truly twist. Her Step-Mother has one again found her and plans to kill her again. Can Snow and her friends survive, or even win?

Not what I expected

Snow was meant to be clever and devious however I felt the plot strained to accomplish this. If this is meant for adult readers, teens included, then the bad words should be used and not - she said a bad word.

I was not overly impressed with the relationship with Max. Cyndy, Cindy which is it? And Belle...not deeply developed.
