Betrayer
If the price of betrayal is death, how do you buy a second chance? Free spirit Evie Drake attends a local renaissance fair, where she gets a henna tattoo of an ancient symbol. Legend claims it will open a door to another world, but the last thing Evie expects is for the legend to be true. Alone in a world where words are sacred and songs hold power, safety is fleeting. One bad decision and suddenly Evie finds herself hunted - pursued across two worlds by creatures sent to claim her soul, and by a man ordered to bring her to justice. I enjoyed this story very much. I was drawn in from the very first page, pretty much. The story follows Evie Drake, a young woman who gets a henna tattoo of a Celtic knot done at a renaissance fair, which turns out to be the means of getting to another world. Almost like a portal key. She is pulled through another realm, where she commits the ultimate betrayal. This betrayal ends up getting a Dryad killed, making her a murderer...essentially!
Along the way, she meets some very interesting character's, Breac and Mikhell. Mikhell is what is known as a shifter. He can transform into different animals, which covers him well. Breac and himself have been tasked to escort Evie to face the consequences of her recent actions. The task is hazardous and there are many obstacles to overcome. There is a certain element of darkness attached to this story as well, which I like. The secondary character's are also a draw to this story.
The dialogue and narrative are both well written, which make this book an easy read. I recommend it to people who like a good fantasy read.

A fun adventure with strong heroes and terrible villains with a few twists and turns along the way.

The Betrayer was a great read.
The twists and turns make it fast paced and exciting. There were a few slow areas, but they were not drug out too awfully long.
I like how the subtle love interests between the characters was written.
I especially like how the book has a Biblical concept, and that there is a consequence for bad actions.
Definitely a page turner!

A love story with lives at stake! I love a book that puts me through the ringer emotionally. The author's use of music is something I've never seen done except in anime! Definitely, gives me magic girl nostalgia. A book with hope and sorrow. To die for love? If that isn't in the anime spirit what is?
