The brand new Architect novella, telling the story of his first job.
Seth Mortimer, the man who will become the criminal mastermind known as the Architect, is trying to launch his new business selling plans to the underground when he is offered a job.
27 hours to get a murderous gangland boss's money back from the hyper intelligent hacker who stole it. Not everybody's idea of a dream first job but Seth can see an upside. Advertising.
Now, if he can just avoid a professional assassin, outwit the hacker and avoid getting himself arrested, it should be a walk in the park.
Includes a preview of the full length novel that introduced the Architect, The Voynich Deception.
Michael Lancashire's first serious writing was episodes of The A-Team. Sadly they were not picked up by NBC for some reason, probably a combination of the lack of an agent and the fact that he was 7 and they were written in crayon. Since then he has written for pleasure whenever jobs and family life permit.
He lives in the Midlands with his wife, three kids and an ever changing assortment of chickens, mammals and reptiles.
Kernel Panic is the prequel to the Voynich Deception. It recounts how Seth Mortimer became the infamous Architect. During the course of this novella, we find out a little more about the inner workings of the young architects mind and we also get to witness his amazing rise into the seat as "The Ultimate Mastermind" and all within 27 hours! As usual, Michael Lancashire has managed to provide the reader with not only an intriguing story line but also a mini-manual into the amazing world that Seth has programmed. I definitely would recommend this novella as well as it's sequel "the Voynich Deception" to all; especially those who love novels that involve an impossible time limit, cyber chases, and an unforeseen resolution. Kernel Panic
A fast paced, well written novella. Twists and turns, great characterisation, thoroughly plausible storyline. Had me hooked from the first page, couldn't put it down.
I've just downloaded 'The Voynich Deception' on the strength of this one.
If you hadn't already guessed, I loved the book...add me to the fan list Mr Lancashire!
