“He had a feeling something was happening, a bad something”. “This was it, all or nothing”.

Thank you to the author for my copy. This was a funny little one. Lots of ‘stupid shit’ and ‘slime ball’ type references. This isn’t my genre so it was an interesting topic to read about. Gypsy is a psychic and it turns out that a couple of the ensemble cast are clever in this regard, too.

This was a quick and light hearted read that I did not take too seriously. A couple of inconsistencies, namely an

Gypsy Hunted is the first novel by Australian author, Andrea Drew, and is the first book in the Gypsy Medium series. After ten long months alone, Gypsy Shields meets a new man, Connor Reardon, at a restaurant dinner with friends. This Police detective seems like a nice guy and she wonders if possibly there could be something between them. At the end of the evening, her walk home is interrupted by the sensation that someone is in trouble. All her life, Gypsy has had telepathic powers, whether or ...more

This was a short, entertaining, easy read. The characters were likable and the story was good. Some of the time I was unsure about the facts though. Is that what actually happens with a "brain bleed"? And can ordinary detectives really arrange an around the clock police guard with just one phone call? And would any police officer seriously not inform his superiors at once if he thought a member of his family might have abducted another police officer? Still it all made for a good story which I ...more

Gypsy Hunted by Andrea Drew

What a cracker of a debut novel! With a really unique storyline...
Andrea Drew has conjured up a real good cast of characters here ..... with a great plot!

Gypsy Shields' psychic senses are very highly tuned...or, as she prefers to call it, her intuition. In fact, it is her unique powers of intuition that save her life and help her with investigations into the kidnapping of a woman in a high profile position with the police force.
Gypsy was walking home alone after a

Not sure what was appropriate to wear to her first date since Mark walked out eight long months ago, Gypsy Shields finally made up her mind with a “that’ll do” thought running through her mind – she’d be late otherwise. But walking to the restaurant in the heels she had chosen made it seem like punishment. Leah, Gypsy’s sister had organised this “blind date” and Gypsy was not at all sure she wanted to go. But meeting Connor Reardon changed her mind – Connor was a detective with the local police ...more
This was an entertaining and suspenseful first novel. The main character Gypsy Shields has telepathic powers which land her in trouble when she is walking home from a night out and witnesses a woman being abducted and bundled into a van. Knocked down by the van as it screams away, Gypsy ends up in hospital but manages to send a telepathic message to her niece about what she saw to take to the handsome detective she met earlier that night. The kidnapper knows there is a witness and would do ...more

Gypsy Shields is a psychic, named because of her grandmother who'd had the gift as well. She's conned into a matchmaking session and is set up with a police detective called Connor Reardon, with whom she has dinner with. Later, he leaves her his business card and leaves. After she pays for her dinner, she leaves and finds a crime happening. It's a woman being kidnapped, coincidentally a woman who works with Connor. Gypsy is then injured and wakes up in hospital. Despite the injuries, she still ...more

Having read such an interesting synopsis, I had to read this book. It's different to what I usually read but the mystery element to it is something that I very much enjoy!

I was so grateful to have received a copy of the beautiful paperback through the author and I couldn't wait to delve into it. The first 2 chapters were as gripping as one of the best novels I have read.

It caught my attention immediately and I had to keep going.

With Gypsy being a type of psychic, a secret that she wouldn't be

This has been on my kindle for a while- but I’m glad that I picked it up this week. Gypsy is psychic, although she isn’t overkeen on having the gift. After she’s involved in witnessing a crime she needs to reach out to her niece to try and help solve the mystery. It’s a real page turner and I’m glad to see that there are other books in the series to catch up on. It was a great, quick read.
She needs the mystery solved before she’s put in danger. Connor was her date on the night of the attack and

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Usually I'm not big on reading adult-type books, as I'm very firmly planted in my little world of YA and very happy there. So when I started this book, I wasn't too sure what to expect. And in all honesty, I was pretty pleasantly surprised. It was engaging and entertaining and I read the whole thing from start to finish in one sitting.

Was it the best book I've ever read in my life? No, probably not. Did it have its problems? Yes,

I would have given this book less than 1 star, if possible. It was awful! I loved the plot and it could have been a very good story. This is only the second book I couldn't finish in my entire life. The character development was poor. I couldn't relate to the H or h. The author wrote in first and third person and at times I couldn't tell which character was in the action. The h had a brain bleed, was paralyzed on her left side and couldn't talk, yet, leveraged herself into a wheelchair, used ...more
A very lame read - Glad it was free

I honestly don’t know why I didn’t declare this book a DNF early on. I thought about it several times, but kept thinking it would get better. It did not. The characters were one dimensional and never felt the least bit realistic. The plot was quite predictable and cliché. I didn’t care for the writing style either. It felt choppy. Also, this book is in desperate need of an editor. Im just glad this was offered as a freebie. To say the least, it won't be a

This book held a lot of promise and ended up falling flat. I got half way through it and decided my time was better spent doing something else. The characters lacked growth. The storyline was unbelievable. The villain was lame, and the writing lacked structure. Overall it was a big disappointment.

The two things I want to talk about the most is the unbelievable storyline and the writing. First of all, some of the facts around the injuries that a main character gets is wrong. When this character

A thoroughly enjoyable and gripping read! While I was hoping for more romance, there was a good lot of thrill in amongst these pages and realistic characters. I didn't know where this book was going to lead me, and was frequently surprised. Yet every turn worked smoothly and kept me hooked - I stayed up late reading this one just to find out what would happen (even between chapters)! In terms of a mystery, this was very strong. My one qualm was that the attempts at romance, while I egged them ...more

Didn't care for.
To 'YA' for me.
I couldn't get into it. Hard to connect to the characters.
Oddly written. Jumpy. Very Jumpy.
No Adult Romance.
This is NOT an Adult book. It IS Young Adult.

Don't Bother

I read other reviews and told myself it could not be that bad. Guess what it was worse. It sounds like the other reviewers at least finished the book - I could not even do that. If you can get this book free I say try it but don't pay for it.

Gypsy Hunted by Andrea Drew combines two of my favorite genres, mystery and supernatural, into one book. The author wrote a nice description of the story so I am not going to recap it other than to say Gypsy, the main character in the book, is psychic and she witnesses a kidnapping which is where the main plot starts. It grabbed my attention just as the cover of the book did depicting the empty park benches at night with the light illuminating the fact that there was no one anywhere to be seen. ...more

Gypsy Hunted is a well written paranormal detective story by Andrea Drew. The author is well versed and has a pleasant writing style that leads you through the story of Gypsy at a nice pace. I never felt rushed nor did I feel the story dragged out. This is definitely one of those books you read most likely in one reading.

Gypsy is an extremely likable character. I find she actually grows in this story and discovers her not only her abilities better, but also who she is. Connor was a good match

I read a good book recently, y'all. Let me tell you a little about it. Gypsy Hunted is a psychic mystery suspense/thriller, book one in the Gypsy Medium series. The action in the book is told from multiple points of view, including that of Gypsy's hunter. The reader knows his/her identity, so the case is only a whodunit for the police. (There is also a secondary mystery, a true whodunit, involving the confidential police reports taken by the first victim.) Gypsy's POV is told in first person; ...more

I can't say enough, love the characters the storyline and the editing. The writer has done great with the telepathic and psychic characters. I can relate personally. Excellent first in series.
I am going to start off by saying that I struggled with this review. There was so much that I liked about the story, but I had some big issues with it as well. It left me conflicted as to a rating.

When we first meet Gypsy, she is on her way to dinner with some friends. She knows that she is being set up, and although she's not sure she is ready to start dating again, decides to go ahead. Her last relationship lasted several years and left her with some issues. The impression I got was that she

I was gifted the ebook Gypsy Hunted by Andrea Drew, by inkspand, in exchange for an honest review.
Who needs sleep? I read the first 150 pages then forced myself to go to bed. I couldn't read at work, and tried at the doctor's office. Wouldn't you know it's the one time they were running on time and everything ran like clockwork. I only got to read five pages the whole time I was there. Once I got home I finally got to finish!
Gypsy Hunted is one of those books. One I couldn't put down. One that
