The Lightning Prophecy
The Lightning Witch Trilogy, Volume 1
By: Emily Cyr
Narrated by: Amy Johnson
This is super exciting, red hot, great mystery, with a powerful special kind of witch, a hot were, and someone murdering witches! The excitement starts right away and doesn't end til the last line! I am going to follow this series! I listened to it in one go!
The narration was absolutely brilliant too!

I’m just starting to love fantasy and finding my way around the genre. Sometimes it’s hit or miss. The Lightning Prophecy is definitely a hit. I loved how Cyr developed an entire world within a world that was somehow believable in a fantastical way. I’m not a huge fan of trilogies because I have very little patience (some would say none), but it can’t be denied that a series allows a writer to develop an entire new world with much more depth than a single book. I loved how there were little clue ...more

The synopsis had me sold on this one. I was eager to give it a try. Here is my breakdown:

Pros:
* Offered as kindleunlimited
* Loved the cover
* Creative story concept
* The sex was steamy, but there wasn’t much of that

Cons:
* A lot of things really made little sense. The heroine spent her life on the run constantly moving with her aunt all because of a prophecy. A prophecy in which her aunt never told her anything about. It just wasn’t logical
* I tired of the whole "prophecy" ordeal. I just wanted us

The author, Emily Cyr developed an enjoyable read with an edge of mystery. The alpha males were outstanding and that alone kept my interest. The Lightning Prophecy held a definite twist to my way of thinking of witches and werewolves. I didn't expect that thing to happen at the end, and since I never leave spoilers, I guess you'll just have read The Lightning Prophecy to find out.

I look forward to her next book...

I received The Lightning Prophecy from the author for an honest review.

I couldn't put this book down. This is a book that makes you anxiously turn each page. Can I say that I can't freaking wait for the next book in this series? 5-stars indeed

I'm going to be generous for now and give three stars even though this book probably should only have two.

But if the next book is as crappy as this, I'm coming back and changing my rating. Most likely 5 minutes from now I will change it, because the more I think about what I read the more I cringe and finding myself thinking "did I just waste that much of my life reading this crap?"

The best thing this book had going for it was the one and a half sex scenes. Otherwise all the prophecy crap and t

This book contains witches, weres, steamy sex scenes, and a cross dresser. Okay, my pointing out that there is a cross dresser may not be warranted, but I don't see how the character adds to the story. Most scenes take place in Georgia with a quick trip to Texas. The witches are known to humans and have their own little government. Some witches choose to be unregistered which means they don't have the protection of the coven. Each witch has power over one of the f

What a fantastic story. I fell in love with the characters. This author has had me sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation waiting to see what was going to happen. The story starts out with a child Delaney and her mother who is concerned about her daughter being a witch. They contact her aunt and find out that Delaney is a unique witch and they need to protect her from the coven finding out that she exists so that they will not use her to their advantage. When Delaney is an adult she deci ...more

The story is wonderful. A witch with little control over her powers meets and falls in love with a werewolf as they attempt to find who’s killing witches on the East Coast. The heroine, Delaney, had me laughing with her flippant comments and the situations she got herself into, especially with her friend Troy who was a hoot and a half.

Reid had me fanning myself with his hotness. And I adored the way Reid and Delaney’s romance combusted, from the moment they met, to… I don’t do spoilers so you’ll

I really had an enjoyable time reading this book. It was a little different and I just loved the writing style. The chemistry was amazing between Delaney and Reid. They just seemed to fit each other perfectly. The magical/supernatural community is cloaked in mystery with lots of weirdness that is largely left unexplored in this first installment. I am looking forward to the next story and finding out more about the secretive and powerful coven and other groups. I also loved the interaction and m ...more

I met this author at a con and when she said she kills off all her characters (even heroines), I was like, "What?" But the more she talked about the story and her writing the more intrigued I became. This is not typically a story I would have picked up, and it's one I would classify as more urban fantasy than romance, but I still definitely enjoyed it. The identity of the killer is glaringly obvious, and perhaps that's on purpose. It took me a couple days to really focus and get into the book as ...more

I really enjoyed this book! It was well written,good storyline,and a good flow.I enjoyed the characters (Especially Troy..lol) and i thought the banter back and forth between him and the auntie was quite funny.Now their were a couple of things that stood out to me that i gotta throw a little shade on.One was i thought that the portraying of her out of controls powers was stretched a bit much.I also was really surprised by the adult content.I went into this thinking it was YA ,and by mid book ,th ...more

This was a really great read and I've got the next one to move straight on. Excellent when you can get these things in a row.

Although this novel didn't necessarily hold anything that hadn't been done, in some fashion, before and with generic characters, I really did enjoy it. Big time smoking hot werewolves, a nice evolution into the romance, complete with a good storyline

Steamy and Suspenseful!

I chose 5 stars because this is the author's first book, but yet, it is a well thought out story line, a book I couldn't put down, and a book that leaves me in high anticipation of the sequel! I recommend this book to both fantasy and romance readers who don't mind if the story gets a bit dirty.

I love the plot line in this book and the characters are so well developed. I love the unique world the author creates, it is believable in current reality and made me feel like I was apart of the world. I was hooked pretty quick and am now on a cliff hanger for book two.

QUICK REVIEW

The Lightning Prophecy is an enjoyable, if a bit predictable, new adult paranormal romance, told from the perspectives of Delaney (a lightning witch) and Reid (a private investigator with a predatorial side). The story was exciting and different, and the chemistry was hot, hot, hot! However, the book was held back a bit by the lack of editing and some unbelievable emotional reactions. This is a good start to a trilogy that I will

I loved this book....book one in The Lightning Witch Trilogy. Our main character is young witch Delaney Hagen. Each witch has her own power, but Delaney has a very one and only unique power....she can control lightning. How cool is that? Our hero is the hot sexy wolf shifter Reid Jamison. The wolf was hired by the witch coven to discover who was killing witches and why....only the coven knew exactly why this was happening. Our story takes us all on an exciting ride through the street of the beau ...more

I received The Lightning Prophecy, book one of the Lightening Witch Trilogy, as a free copy from the author/publisher. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion.

An interesting plot, with interesting relationships--it took a few chapters for me to get caught up in the story, but I ended up staying awake too long to finish. There are lots of twists in this read, especially the ending-- I didn't see this one coming. The author is good at keeping us on the ed

I liked this one but I didn't love it. The book was a little confusing at times so I won't continue with the trilogy but I definitely recommend Push & Pull series by same author. That series is addictive.

Pretty good.

I did hover between 3 and 4 stars on this, because in places it could do with the application of a really good editor. However, it's a really good story overall, I like the main protagonists, and I'm just about to go and find part 2, so I guess that earns it a 4.

You take a chance when you read a first book by a new author. It could be amazing, so bad you want to claw your eyes out, or somewhere in between. Lucky for me, The Lightning Prophecy was awesome.

For a first book, The Lightning Prophecy is very well written, the editor/proofreader has done a great job of catching any typo’s or general mistakes. I enjoyed the overall tone and lightness of the story. When I say lightness, I am referring to the character’s personalities. There are pretty bad thing

LOVE it! I gotta say, the cover attracted me because it reminded me of Percy Jackson book (anyone else??) but the blurb was crazy interesting!

Delaney can control lightning. No witch is supposed to do that, only water, air, fire and earth. But there's a prophecy that a witch that will be able to wield the power of a god who the druids used to worship before they split into witches and werewolves. And that girl will destroy the witches. Her parents died when she was a little girl and was taken care of by a good and kind witch who knew that Delaney's power had to be hidden. If the witches found out, they could kill her or use her, both w ...more

First off, love the cover!
Thw book is an urban fantasy/paranormal set in present day and regular society, which I liked. As a heroine, Delaney, a witch with unique powers, is delightfully innocent, and the hero, Reid, a werewolf, is hot as magma (did I mention in the were/vamp war, I'm totally team were?). I found their attraction to be authentic right from the moment they meet and the author's sex scenes are some of the best written scenes in the book ;-).

To be frank, when I started I didn't

First in a trilogy .. an author I haven’t read before & a genre which could go either way for me depending on the writing style, content, pace etc. The story was fairly basic, but moved along at a comfortable pace, a little drawn out in places but the hot scenes made up for that.

I found I had to really concentrate to suspend my disbelief .. if I read it logically it would have been fairly annoying as a subject but by allowing my imagination to flow I could almost see where the author was co

This is a story of a very strong willed girl named Delaney who just happens to be a witch who falls in love with a werewolf named Reid. Well someone is going around killing witches, they kill a witch that happens to be a friend of Delaney’s, and she is determined to investigate th
