The Christmas Lights is told from the point of view of Louis Éclat, a young man who just wants the right to marry the girl he loves. It doesn’t help that he’s poor, fatherless, and has vision so horrible that he might as well be blind. The Christmas Lights by Rachael Kosinski is a touching, heart-felt short story and honestly, I loved it! I connected immediately with the characters, it was over way too quick and my heart swelled with emotion. Beautifully written and highly recommend!

This is a short book, half a book, really. A novella. But please, don't let that make you shy away. Short can be good! Short can have you straining your eyes against your Kindle, Nook, iPod or laptop (it's only in electronic form as of now) because some serious plot conflict is afoot. Short can mean cuddling up on a couch with a mug of coffee and having a book snuggle. And who doesn't like book snuggles? If you like intense deadlines, the nooks and crannies of European cities, eccentric artists, ...more

This novella is way too enticing, and I nearly didn't get any sleep last night because of it. It's written with such confidence; the main character/main narrator is a familiar and well-written voice that had the perfect balance of charisma and determination. It's light and charming -- a perfect read for the season, especially while listening to Christmas music. Just so, as the book was originally intended, it would make a perfect gift. Great book, and looking out for more work by the author.

With the holidays quickly approaching, many of us (like myself) are on the look-out for a sweet Christmas story to get us in the mood for the impending festivities. In my humble opinion, "The Christmas Lights" had the makings to be included in Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas.

Incase you are wondering why it had the goods to be turned into a tv movie, let me enlighten you about this novella.

This is a wonderfully heartwarming story about what the heart is willing to do for love. With family, friendship, and genuine kindness, the seeming impossible is able to be achieved. This novels will touch your heart, and put a new perspective when looking at Christmas lights!

When she was little, Rachael Kosinski wanted to be a paleontologist, an astronaut, a nature photographer, a writer for National Geographic, an Egyptologist, and the next Jane Goodall. Instead of being a new link between man and chimp, or discovering a planet suitable for sustained human life, or maybe even winning renowned fame by stumbling across an undiscovered dinosaur, Rachael finally decided ...more
