Truth be honest, I really enjoyed this novel. As part of a two part series, it was easily intriguing as it was suspenseful with an engaging plot line and fascinating characters.

This is book one in this two part series. I absolutely loved this story. I found it to be a gripping read and read it in one sitting.

Elizabeth Fitzgerald is a Senators wife. She has been brought up to value money over love. She's now stuck in a loveless marriage with a twat of a husband. When Alex is hired to be Elizabeth's bodyguard she starts to realise there's more to life than money.

The end of this book left me staring and muttering at my kindle. What a cliffhanger!! I'm really

Hidden in Lies by Rachael Duncan was simply wonderful. It’s a story that shows that picture perfect outside isn’t always picture perfect inside.

Elizabeth and Cal married for all the wrong reasons. Her whole life, she was taught marry someone who is wealthy and can take care of her financially, so she did. She married Cal Ferguson, who had great aspirations. What she didn’t realize was that things aren’t always as they seem...

The trials and tribulations of Elizabeth and Cal’s relationship really hi

I received an email from this author about reviewing the second book in this series, but I hadn't heard of the first book before, so I decided to look it up and see what it was about! I was really intrigued by the synopsis and the cover that I really wanted to read the story behind it, so I made it my next read! I'm so happy I did! I really enjoyed this book! It was everything I hoped it was going to be and so much more! I was always desperate to read on and find out what was going to happen nex ...more

Elizabeth didn’t always want to be a trophy wife, but a hard lesson was learned as a child and finding a man that could provide her with money became far more important than finding one that could provide her with love.

Married to Senator Cal Fitzgerald, rising Presidential hopeful should sound like a dream, but it quickly becomes a living nightmare. Enter Alex Matthews. Ex-Military. Sex on Legs. Hired Security. And her live in babysitter.

Sparks fly as the stranger gets through her walls and se

Elizabeth is the perfect Senator's wife. She's beautiful, articulate, accommodating, agreeable. The word "Stepford" comes to mind when thinking of her.

But is that truly Elizabeth?
Nobody is the wiser.. until the day she meets him...

He makes her question everything.
He makes her drop her guard and just let go.

"I swear to God he could melt panties with just the sound of his voice."

I enjoyed this story very much. There's an air of mystery. What exactly is she hiding, why is she hiding.. and is she the only one hiding somgo.

Exciting political romantic suspense!
I thought it was going to be a basic love story, and it's SO not!

At first, I had a hard time liking Elizabeth b/c of her choices. I confess, I felt like she got what she deserved.
Then as the layers start peeling away, everything changes.

Great story, thoughtful and intelligent, steamy-sexy.
Don't miss this series!

Of course I LOVED Alex and Elizabeth. They were awesome characters, and without them, this book would have gotten a 1 star.

I'm not sure where to start! This was definitely different for me! I'll just start by talking a little about what the book is about. It's about the rich Vs the poor. It's about old money and politics. It's about Cal and Elizabeth's 'just for appearance' marriage. It's about marrying for the wrong reasons. And it's about making a decision and dealing with everything that comes with that decision.

Elizabeth and Cal Fitzgerald? oh lord. Elizabeth made a conscious decision to marry into wealth

Well shit.

LOVERS!! This was one of THE BEST cliffhangers! Ever! Apparently I am an anomaly when it comes to loving a good cliff. But as I always say, I really feel more people should just embrace it. Cliffs make me feel mother hugging ALIVE! Anyway, so good. So damn good. I am so pumped for June I can't even stand it.

The blurb doesnt give much away, and I wasn't sure which genre this fell into before I started so I went in, not blind, just a little fuzzy. I mention this, because sometimes knowing which slot it fits into can squew my expectations, so I really had none here.

I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet, sexy, steamy, suspenseful, and had quite a few twists and turns along the way. This book was really good and just as the getting was getting good... BAM, the book ended making me want so much more.

This is Elizabeth's story. Elizabeth grew up with meager means. She hasn't lived a rich life... until she married the "right" man. She is a Senator's wife and wears that title proudly. She has had the line, marry for money not love, instill

This wouldn’t have been a one click for me but I was asked by a friend to read and review. So I did. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the story. Elizabeth is a prime example of the fact that you are a product of your environment. Acting on the teachings of her mother, Elizabeth turns off emotions and turns on her survival skills. An impeccable life and husband decorate what from the outside seems picture perfect. This “Kennedy Lifestyle” is taken to a new level and Elizabeth is finding ...more

The book starts with a 14 year old Elizabeth sitting in the kitchen with her mom painting her toenails. It’s a sweet moment that turns into something more when Elizabeth tells her mom about a boy she likes at school. When her mom realizes that the boy doesn’t come from money, she tells Elizabeth that she needs to focus on men with money. She tells Elizabeth about the struggles they’ve had and how difficult it’s been for them all. It ends up being a day that dictates the next 15 years of Elizabet ...more

She literally sacrificed every desire, need or any shred of her former self in order to play the puppet in Senator Cal's hands. What can I say about this book??? OMG, I loved it. It hooked me from the start and I mean from the prologue, not the first few chapters. Elizabeth is the "perfect" wife of a senator. She wears the right clothes, is friends with the right people and says the right thing all the time, too bad it is all façade. Since she learned early in life that love isn't really all you need, she basically made herself into the type of woman a man with money would want. She lands herself a senator, who not only ...more

It has taken me a few days to put together my thoughts on this book because it brought out some very strong emotions.

Elizabeth is a politician's wife. She keeps up appearances as the faithful, doting wife. To the public, everything is perfect. Elizabeth was the picture perfect wife to Senator Callaghan "Cal" Fitzgerald but not everything you see is true. This is the first book in a two book series – Lies and Truth. There is a shock ending which will be resolved in the second book due out in June 2015.

Elizabeth has grown up with the mantra of marrying for money from her mother who, although loved and adored her father, she did not want a life of struggle for her daughter. As such Elizabeth is now a senator’s wife, surviving in a loveless marriage but keeping up the façade of being a dutiful and devoted wife to her husband, Cal Fitzger

Rachael Duncan has truly outdone herself in Hidden Lies. No joke when I say this is the best book I have read this year. I was sucked in right from the start and Elizabeth’s facade of the doting wife kept me glued to the pages.
