A Hearts On Fire Review

THREE & A HALF HEARTS--An established couple rekindles their fire through BDSM 101.

If seeing a BDSM tag on romances makes you hesitant, but you're curious, this book might be a great start. Nothing extreme, very mild, not too kinky and a lot of beginner's explanation into the world of D/s. If you'd like a list: minimal bondage, minimal spanking, blindfolds, exhibition (hot) and a butt plug. Everything was very sane, very safe and very consensual between lovers,

This was all kinds of hot! Very enjoyable quickie about two longterm lovers reconnecting. Recommended.

Couples in trouble, worn down through too much stress and everyday worries, are not all that unusual. What they do about it ranges from trying to rescue the relationship in different ways to giving up and getting divorced. Of course much depends on how serious the problems are. Donovan and Nate are definitely in trouble, but there is no animosity. After five years together, and both having stressful jobs, they are more distant than they would like, and their sex life could use some sprucing up. ...more

This was a really fresh take on a BDSM-flavoured book. Both Donovan and Nate are new to the D/s scene — in fact, Nate doesn't even know that's the sort of retreat that Donovan has booked for them at Cooper Mountain. Understandably, there's some hesitation, but when both men see the emotional connection shared by their hosts, they decide to give it a try.

I really felt how much love already existed between Donovan and Nate. This book was super low on the angst scale, which was nice to read.

I really enjoyed this short story; it was a unique look into the BDSM lifestyle with both MC’s starting out with absolutely no knowledge.

Donovan and Nate have been together for five years and are very much in love but like so often happens real life takes over and things begin to slip. It’s not a story filled with angst but a more a gentle realisation that things have lost their sparkle and that perhaps it’s time that their personal lives and all the intimacy that

I wasn’t going to read this yet. I had other books on my TBR list that kept getting pushed back and for ‘reasons’, I needed to stick to my guns and read them next. Then Stripped Bare showed up on my Kindle. I had no clue what it was about, but Eileen Griffin & Nikka Michaels wrote it and that alone taunted me enough to click on it, “just to see…”

Holy crap. It’s BDSM.

Just so ya’ know, I’m kinda’ to the point where if the storyline is satisfying in itself, I pretty much skim the sex

For the sake of full disclosure I should start this review by saying that I’ve adored the words Eileen Griffin and Nikka Michaels produce together from before they ever published their first book. The love has only grown deeper and stronger with every subsequent title they released, both together and separately.

Stripped Bare once again confirmed these authors’ talent for telling a good story. As always they brought me men I could love and sympathise with, in a story that captured my imagination

This is a sweet story about two men reigniting their romance. Nate and Donovan have fallen into the "old married couple" pit and fear the magic is gone for good. The initiative in taking a weekend at a specialized B&B proves to bring back the spark. The buildup to sexual action comes slowly, and in parts the dialogue with Toby and Logan, the B&B owners, almost reads like a manual. Nonetheless, it's a nice quick read a fan of M/M and kink could enjoy.

Very low key on the kink, but I think it was appropriate for this particular couple, as they did come across as fairly vanilla as characters.

I did like the theme of discovering the kinky side of the relationship, but would've liked it to be more organic. Often times when reading books that contain even a hint of BDSM, I get the feeling the autors go out of their way to ensure the readers that everything is safe sane and consensual. When done right, it can be hot but mostly it ends up making the
