Well done. But perhaps not wholly accurate.

of the many, many books about Anne Boleyn this is my favorite. She seemed more real. Neither overly good nor bad. The sequence of events leading to her ultimate fall were well documented and understood. She was doomed because she could not bear a living son. But she was also doomed by a fickle and cruel self serving king. I believe this author understood the true nature of both Anne and Henry better than most. This version does not she the evil side of

An easy read, maybe more asked for a beginner.

I've read more than my fair share of Tudor history. So I expect each consecutive book to be different, at the very least. This, unfortunately, was not. Felt like I was watching the hbo series all over again. p age after page of the same lines over and over. We all know how the story ends, but I love a new perspective on Anne's POV. This was not it. There was just passivity, no passion or fire. I probably would have enjoyed this more as a teenager fi

I actually really enjoyed the way Fenton portrayed Anne. I have to say, it was like how Mary was in The Other Boleyn Girl, yet Anne still had that bite to her rather than complete innocence. I did wish for more of her and Henry's fights, though the important ones were there. Lady Rochford's portrayal was different as well. Not so evil, something completely different than any other thing I've read or watched that involves her. ...more

It shows the story from Anne’s point of view. It also shows a nicer, more realistic relationship between Anne and Jane Boleyn. It is very historically accurate and keeps close to the timeline of Anne’s life. A great must-read for anyone that is interested in the rise and fall of Anne Boleyn.

I have followed author Charlie Fenton’s process of writing her novel over several months, being kept updated on her facebook page of her progress. She has spoken about her writing process and the amount of research that she had undertaken to accurately portray Anne Boleyn’s life. When her book was finally released I immediately got a copy and can honestly say that I was not at all disappointed. From the moment I picked up Fenton’s book I could not put it down.

Fenton has written an extremely cap
