Camelot Court #4

The Python's Princess

Rate this book
The Python’s Princess is fourth in a five-book series and ends on a CLIFFHANGER. It is a modern-day retelling, loosely based on the legend of King Arthur, with aspects of the lore layered throughout the series. It is not a fantasy romance. Quinn will end up with more than one love interest, and the goal for all the characters is to live and love without limits. Please check content warnings on the author's website.

Camelot Court is a world of secrets. Nothing is as it seems, and The Quest asks readers to Pledge with Trust, Live with Honor, and Fight with Courage. Now, you’ll see what it takes to Protect with Nobility
~~~~~~~~~
One challenge stands between me and winning The Quest,
The annual competition I signed up for on a lark,
Vowing to fight for the grandest prize on the table…
Freedom.
When an unexpected visitor shatters our momentary peace,
Uniting my three broody men turns into a quieter battle,
And charting our path forward brings unforeseen obstacles,
Allies and threats.
As the Nobility Challenge drags up old hurt and lessons,
Their secret pasts threaten to tear us apart,
And the time comes for me to make a choice.
I control my fate.
Only I can decide who is friend or foe,
Confront the medieval depths of Camelot Court,
And win their game by asking the right questions…
To survive.
Do we share the truth in time or let secrets drive us apart?
Do I piece together the clues or succumb to her dark fate?
And do I risk losing them or die trying to keep us all safe?
How do I choose?
Some trials, once faced, test every ounce of our strength.
Some decisions, once made, cannot be taken back.
One mistake may cost everything we’ve been fighting for.
And yet…The Quest remains my only chance to protect what’s mine.
Elle Parker
In 2023, Elle began writing again while processing grief and giving voice to pain she’d repressed for a long time. She found she had a lot of stories inside her, all shaped by her experiences as a mother, Registered Nurse, and female with ADHD and—what she hopes is very lovable—anxiety.
Elle’s characters are flawed, tiny pieces of her soul, and her stories often involve unpacking trauma, finding her characters’ voices, and reclaiming the freest, truest versions of who they are. Elle’s writing journey has been very much the same for her own life. Her stories vary in genre, sub-genres, and tropes, because she couldn’t pick just one.
But luckily, 2023 was also the year Elle Parker learned she didn’t always have to choose.
If you have been around and talked to me about books within the last 12 months, it is a 100% guarantee that I have talked about this series. And the fourth book in this series cemented the fact that I will continue to be talking about this series for all of 2026 as well. If you are new here, welcome and please remember that these HAVE to be read in order.
Okay…now to get to this installment. I’m going to say what I can without any spoilers because, well, we don’t do those here. There are moments that are going to make you so angry the safety of your phone or kindle (whatever you are reading on) is at risk. There are also moments, many moments, that make you question everything that you thought you knew from books one - three. There are moments that have been a LONG time coming. Finally there are moments that will make you cry.
This book is must read for 2026. And if you need a support group after reading this….know I am here!
OOOO Elle Parker You just continue to bring us to our knees with this series! The Python's Princess is book four of the Camelot Court series and I am telling you again, YOU HAVE TO READ THIS SERIES! It is a modern-day retelling, loosely based on the legend of King Arthur. It’s a dark romance, a HOT why choose, throw in some BDSM, secret society, it just has EVERYTHING you could want in a book series!
We continue to follow Quinn Everly. Our amazing, strong, fierce warrior of a fmc. Considered from the “wrong side of the tracks”. She entered the Quest, a challenge at D’Arthur University’s brotherhood of Knights in Camelot Court’s to win a lot of money. Over the series, we follow her along the path of Challenges she must face to ultimately become The Queen! Her journey has been through so many ups and downs. This competition has become so much more than money! It’s the love of three beautifully broken men; Kingston~The King. Landon~Sir Lancelot. Max Dread~Sir Mordred.These three are so different in many ways with such HUGE intertwining pasts. This book gets us to the final challenge. So many things are answered and some are still left wondering. Were there moments I wanted to shake some sense into the characters? OR thought I knew something I was totally wrong, omg yes. But every time, I got pulled right back in.The chemistry as always between these four is HOT! No other words and gets better in every book🔥The need for these four to come together for good is felt so deeply.
Throw a great list of side characters. Morty? I am so intrigued. Gia, Quinn’s best friend, she is pure perfection and I cannot wait for her series!!
I was absolutely not ready for the emotional rollercoaster that The Python’s Princess put me through. I knew going in that it would end on a cliffhanger, but that ending? I’m still speechless. I was so immersed in the story that I genuinely didn’t see it coming. That’s how invested I was. I literally put my Kindle down and messaged Elle Parker both to tell her she’s amazing AND how could she do this to us!! Please read this series, it was on my best of 2025, it’s so good and we have one more to go!
I am going to do my best to give a review without spoilers, BUT this is book 4 in the series and MUST be read in order so if you haven't read 1-3 go do that first.
When I tell you, you will question everything you have ever known, I am not exaggerating. You think you know, but honestly you have no idea. I have no idea. My flabbers are still ghasted.
This series is immaculate from start to finish, top to bottom. I could not be more in love with these characters (especially Max Dread- and yes, we full name him, always).
I am not OK after the ending, in need of tissues, a support group and book 5 immediately.
I was completely unprepared for all of the emotional twists that were contained within The Python's Princess. Of course I knew going in that this book that it would end on a cliffhanger, but the ending to this one 😧 I honestly have no words...I was so drawn up into the story that I literally didn't see the end of the book coming. That's how exciting the plot was and invested I became in this book! Did I reach points where I wanted to smack some sense into these characters...sure, who doesn't when characters don't do what you want them to do 😂 ...but then I'd get sucked right back in and I lost track of time, spacial awareness, and of course that the end of the book was near. I didn't want it to end and now I'm stuck in emotional desolation until the next one.😭
What I loved about this fourth book were the trials, training, and final challenges were all different. While this book was an emotional wringer, the training days were the breather in between, but also allowed an even deeper insight into the Camelot world that were enlightening as much as they were intriguing to the whole plot. It was also a deeper insight into some of the other knights, which I loved and hope it's a peek into something more for them beyond this initial series. 🤗🙏
I would be remiss if I didn't mention Morty...ahhh, Morty...😂 He's a man full of mystery, tons of sarcasm, and I really hope he gets more time on the page beyond this book because his comic relief was amazing. 🙌 Antagonist at times, oh my goodness...YES...but also...hilarious 🤣😂. Like I've already said, with the emotional ups and downs of this book, thank goodness for Morty. 😏
As for our king and knights; Kingston, Max, and Landon. All of their personal stories continued to grow, but it's Max, who has spent a lot of time either in the shadows or the bathtub, that was pushed to the forefront more than ever before. We learn some of the secrets as to why Max has a crusty burnt shell over his squishy marshmallow soul.🥺 Maxxxxxxx......Seriously, this polycule needs him and his broody personality, it just works with him and that's all I'm going to say.
The Python's Princess is the fourth book in a five book series and it was impossible to put down as it's full of action, plot twists, angsty emotional moments, found family, love, and laughter. It's everything that reaching this point in a series should be and I can't wait for the next book that will lead to the culmination of what ending this quest will mean.💖
WHAT JUST HAPPENED????
WHY. Just—why.
I… hold on. Give me a second. I need to sit. Breathe. Re-evaluate my life choices.
WHAT.
THE.
HELL.
Okay. Okay. Fine. Deep breaths. The book was stunning. Watching Quinn step fully into her power—this lethal, elegant, don’t-test-me Queen who’s still every inch a Lady? Absolute perfection. Icon behavior. Honestly, when I grow up, I want to be her.
And Kingston, Landon, and Max. Every time they show up I’m reminded why monogamy is a social construct and why we, as readers, are truly blessed to not have to choose. Amen.
The confusion though. The “is he or isn’t he?” The twists. The turns. The psychological whiplash. I genuinely considered grabbing a notebook and mapping it out like a deranged scholar on a quest.
WHO. IS. THE. PAWN.
Because who I swore it was? Yeah, no. Apparently not. Unless it is? Right?? I mean???
And excuse me but THAT MOMENT BY THE LEMON TREE??? Ma’am. Illegal. Emotionally reckless. Straight to jail.
AND OH MY GOD
CHAPTER 30?!?!?!
I would like to file a formal complaint and possibly a lawsuit for my libido.
And then SUUUUURE. We think we’re heading toward a nice little happily-ever-after, right? Sunshine. Resolution. Peace.
And thenTHAT. ENDING.
WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. EVER-LOVING. HELL.
ELLE PARKER.
Respectfully. Disrespectfully. Affectionately. YOU HAVE SO MUCH EXPLAINING TO DO.
As always, Elle proves she’s a breathtaking writer with absolutely zero hesitation about ripping out our hearts, stomping on them, and handing them back with a smile. At this point, I know what I signed up for. Still hurts. Still devastating. Still worth it.
I cannot wait for book five.
Now excuse me while I go cry dramatically in a corner.
Back to the beginning.
And the games continue...
Between the disputes between the black knight and the white knight; avoiding at all costs the king’s unpleasant father and all the evil he might cause; navigating among the pawns of the court in whom we don't know who to trust or who to avoid, things are not easy for our brilliant and resilient protagonist.
But at the same time, the MMCs give her the strength and will necessary to face a new challenge, even when they speak in riddles or grunts.
For every secret our FMC uncovers, three or four more appear. When one obstacle is overcome, another soon replaces it.
How about giving the girl a break?
Sometimes a girl just wants to have fun — LOL
What also saves her is her wonderful best friend, Gia. I love their relationship and the cynical and super funny way they handle things.
These books have been real puzzles, both for the reader and for our protagonists. The author throws us twists and turns just when we think we understand what's happening, like pulling the rug out from under our feet.
Fasten your seatbelts because this one is no different. What a rollercoaster!
It's a why-choose with very hot moments.
Elle gives us a wonderful, albeit sometimes exasperating, plot. There are moments of great emotional intensity, as well as moments that make us want to laugh out loud. It's such an addictive read that you won't want to put it down until the end, even knowing that there's a high probability Elle will leave us in suspense on the final pages.
I can hardly wait for the next and final one to see the curtain fall and the masks be lifted. Do you see what these books do to me? Even I start speaking enigmatically.
Check CWs before reading
I have no words. Though I think the 254 highlights on my kindle speak volumes. And the 414 messages in the buddy read thread with @emily.the.story.seeker is a sign of our thoughts, feelings, theories and deductions. Plus the 5 star rating.
It's actually genuinely so hard to write this review without giving spoilers, so I'm just gonna highlight some of my favourite messages from the buddy read thread (redacted as necessary). These are a mix of comments from both myself and Emily, and explains our chaos and the amazingness that was Princess.
- Dying over [redacted] though 🤣
- God I hope [redacted] gets what's coming for [redacted]
- Seriously. [redacted] is gold. I love that Elle's so great at weaving comedy into serious things
- I know we say it every book, but Quinn and Gia's friendship is perfection and goals and everything a good female friendship should be
- I want to know how Elle can make a story this convoluted, with this many twists and turns and secrets and characters, this easy to read?? (*sorry for stealing this one Em but you summed it up perfectly!*)
- Em: Bro. What. Use your words.
Me: Don't be silly. Means men would have to learn to communicate 🤣
- My brain is whirring over so many things
- Elle is about the only author that can keep me guessing
- Its so hard to put a finger on [redacted]. Cause part of me thinks Elle is doing a double bluff in making us think it's [redacted]
- Fucking Elle 🤣 (*included because the amount of times we wrote an iteration of this phrase 🤣🤣🤣)
- who's cutting onions in here 🥺🥺🥹🥹
- I'm both "aww"-ing and cackling at this passage
- Em: Sometimes I just wanna slap these two
Me: Slap is being polite 🤣
- fuck, the depth of every single little decision in this book
- Final thoughts: fuck. Me. That's all I got
I told you we were unhinged!
As always, thank you to Elle for the chance to be on her team, and I'm waiting on the edge of my seat to see what book 5 will bring. Because that cliffhanger? Brutal.
Thank you to the author for the eARC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily.
Prepare yourselves you’re about to be shooketh!
Well you think you had the characters all figured out and then wow this book certainly throws some humdingers in there 😳
Quinn has to face the nobility trails which essentially combines a treasure hunt and an obstacle course which as you can imagine provides plenty of opportunities for knight and the other maidens to create serious difficulties for her…so of course there’s action and drama aplenty - particularly with a tricksy new member on the board 😤 ahead is still utterly determined to shred the Camelot court apart 👸👸 yet the biggest threat to Quinn right now is the animosity still between her men and the question of trust! 😳 Quinn’s faith in them flounders slightly throughout this book, as different paths are woven and its not always clear of the intentions behind certain moves. Yet for some of her men there’s a solidifying of bonds as they really show her worth and the light she brings, oh and especially when she really gives into her non-innocence 😉🔥 it’s that faith which she has to hold onto 😍 however I fear it may be absolutely shattered after that cliffhanger of an ending 😭😭
This series has a special place in my heart.
I was lucky enough to do the beta read for this book and 4 books into this story we finally get answers as we get to the end of The Quest.
Besides the final challenge Quinn also faces some challenges with her guys as secrets come to light while others try to stay hidden.
I thought book 3 with Kingstons confessions was emotional, well book 4 had me crying again, being in the Quest isn’t easy. But as always Elle manages to balance the emotional parts with so much humor and a bit of spice.
There was a specific scene in this book that really touched me emotionally, it was beautiful and it is one that has stayed with me every day since reading it.
There are so many aspects in this series and especially this book that makes it so amazing. The characters and how we get to know a bit more about them each book. the connections between the characters, the humor and the mystery, this book had me at the edge of my seat.
First Quinn, she is just a badass and I like the way she uses her sense of humor to make the heavy situations lighter. She is fierce and does everything for the people she loves and doesn’t back down in a tough situation.
And the guys, o the guys. I have nothing but love for Landon, how he sees Quinn and supports her in what she wants even if it is his sworn enemy. And Kingston, this man of mystery has my whole heart and just like in book 3 I just wanted to give him a big hug.
And then there is Max….. o Max. This man made it hard to love him sometimes, but beneath that hard, snarky exterior is a man that loves deeply.
Together they make the perfect team and each guy has something different to offer Quinn and the other guys.
After 3 books you would think you would be used to the cliffhangers but nope….Can not wait for book 5.
The Python’s Princess is a full 5 stars & another incredible instalment in the Camelot Court series!!!
Elle Parker just does. not. miss! 😮‍💨😍
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all four books so far & this one somehow still managed to raise the bar.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That cliffhanger? Absolutely BRUTAL. The kind that leaves you staring at the wall questioning your life choices. You know it’s a good book when you finish it & feel completely at war with yourself. You love what the author writes, you’re obsessed with the story… & you’re also genuinely furious at them for crushing your heart. When a book can pull that level of emotion out of you, the author has absolutely done their job 👍🏼
I cannot wait for the next book. I love being on this journey, even if the wait between releases feels like mild emotional torture. I’m also really looking forward to the audiobooks catching up, because the Camelot Court audiobooks are in my top favourites of all time. I’ll happily put myself through this emotional chaos all over again when they drop.
Well done, Elle Parker. You’ve ruined me. In the best way 😅
🌟 Please note: This is the 4th book in the series and the books must be read in order. I promise the journey is worth it.
Well Elle has done it again. lol HOW DARE YOU wreck me and then leave me like that with the ending?!!!! I’m not ok!
This book was almost like reading a live action version of Clue. The twists, the never ending questions with cryptic answers if any, and this particular part of the Quest just had everyone on edge and wondering who did it or will do it?
The first half of the book, much like the others, left me questioning everything, including my own sanity at times. 😂 My little Maxie Poo gave me a bit of a heart attack this time around too. He had me royally frustrated with his stank attitude and I was not having it lol.
While this story finally gives us some answers we have been searching for and a deeper insight into the lunatic families behind Camelot Court, I still have so many questions and am now left on edge waiting for the final book to arrive!!
This was fantastic!
✨ARC REVIEW ✨
5 ⭐️’s
4 🌶️’s
Thank you to Elle Parker for sending me an ARC of The Python’s Princess.
OMG this book, this series has me in an absolute chokehold. In this book we got some of the answers that we have been looking for since book one but there is still so much we don’t know!!!
For most of the book I will say Quinn was getting on my nerves, because she was focused on everything but the quest and because of that she was losing ground and getting distracted! Once she locked in I was so proud of her and I love how she protected herself from the “knight” that tried to harm her!
I also loved the development between Kingston and Landon, it was a long time coming and I know they will be able to finally develop their relationship because I refuse to believe anything happens to them regardless of what happened at the end of the book!!!!
This book is out now and I promise you won’t be disappointed so go read it now, only if you’ve read the first 3!!!!
I will never not be 100% invested in this series. I have found Quinn and her men so easy to root for from the very beginning, and this new entry continues to solidify how precious they are. Between the confessions and the revelations and the actual challenge in this one, lesser people would have given up. The characters lean in though. They rely on each other, and they step up when others would falter. I was so excited to see some pieces of the mystery slot into place and have Quinn puzzle some things out. I will say I love ALLL the guys, but my soft spot for Max has never wavered. He pushes everyone away, but his heart is in the right place. There’s also a secondary character that can potentially shake up everything. This felt like a roller coaster ride to the cliffhanger finish. Now I’m even more eager for the final book if that’s possible.
In this fourth installment of Elle Parker’s Camelot Court series, the action picks up from the very first page. Every time you think you’ll get a reprieve from the adrenaline surge, another secret is revealed or another twist shows up unannounced. Trust NO ONE! Your heart will break…there might be screaming along the way…you’ll find yourself questioning everything you hold true about this series. And I mean this in ALL 👏THE 👏BEST 👏WAYS 👏! This book ignited a fire in my belly that I can’t describe. BRB—I need to start the series over again from Book 1 while I (in)patiently wait for the fifth and final installment. ⏳Take your time…(but for real—we need answers!!) Thank you to the author for the opportunity to review this advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
Firstly, I’d recommend making sure your Kindle case is not only strong but also waterproof because book 4 will have you not only throwing it but crying all over it too. Quinn is up against the secret society and she’s determined to not only win but to take them down. This book answers so many lingering questions and introduces some new characters. Quinn’s relationships with her men are complicated (some more than others) but I love the dynamics and tension she has with each of them. And as always, Quinn and her best friend Gia are the definition of girlhood. In true Elle fashion, we’re left with another cliffhanger… but the journey of this series is so worth it. I’m already so excited for the next book!
I was looking forward to this book, and I can say I was not expecting such a turmoil of emotions. Quinn is still being strong and not letting anything or anyone keep her down, no matter how some people try. There were plenty of times I wanted to throw my tablet, I couldn’t get over how certain characters were and how antagonising they could be. Morty was a great addition, comical as well as mysterious. Can’t quite get a full read on him, he definitely keeps it interesting. That cliffhanger was uncalled for, I need the next book asap. I will be sitting impatiently waiting for it to be done lol
What?!?! OMG you cannot leave me hanging like that!!
I felt a lot of this book was trying to get Max back on her side.
I liked seeing Kingston, engaging with Quinn more and I love that Landon finally remembers everything.
I need a scene between Kingston and Landon and Quinn Stat!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, not so much the hangover Ive now got from it.
I cant wait to read the final book!!!!
I wasn’t ready for book 4. I thought I had some idea going into it about what was coming but as usual Elle quickly showed me I was completely off track. There were multiple times i screamed at my phone and wanted to throw it. Quinn is her stubborn and awesome self, Gia proved to be the same ride or ☠️, and the guys leave you hot. That ending though🤯🤯🤯😱😱
This story is amazing! The twists and turns never end, and Elle will keep you guessing until the very last page…AND BEYOND!! These characters are still some of my favorites of all time and Quinn and Gia will always be my blueprint for female friendships.
I am absolutely feral for the end of this series and for all of these well-crafted pieces to fall into place!
