I was in the mood for something light and started a few books that I shelved until I got to this.

The characters were in their mid-30s but this had a more YA tone. The rock band likewise sounded more like frat boys in their dialogues.

It was just okay until the angst kicked in and then everything just went downhill for me. I'm sorry but everything Luke did eventually was unforgivable to me and he just kept at it. (view spoiler) ...more

Like all of the other books I have read by Nikki, I loved this book. It has the right amount of humour, romance and heartache.

Martha lands herself as a housekeeper at the big house, just up the drive from her little cottage, and her new boss is her school days crush Luke Mahoney. From the moment she saw him naked coming out of the bathroom she was doomed!

Luke is the lead singer of the rock band "Dirty Riches", he finds Martha fascinating and loves to flirt and embarrass h

So yeah....I don't know how to start this review. The book was shall we say interesting to say the least. I think the title of the book is a little misleading because I found myself wondering where the correlation comes between the title and the story. And then I get to that singular line about rock stars not liking big knickers but then the story still didn't mesh. It made no sense.

The story, itself, held a lot of promise but simply fell short of all that it could have been. The conversations

It could have been a really good book but OMG like really!? Guy was accused of cheating so instead to prove himself not guilty he had a sex with a girls while love of his life was cleaning room next to? Because he was pissed at her not believing him? And she was still in love then was mostly pissed more about first cheating that she wasn't sure if it really happen then the second one? And he said the girl reminded him of her? Then later she was with him again confessed to still love him before s ...more

I loved this book. I loved Luke and all his slightly eccentric family and I totally understood Martha and where she was coming from. Betty was brilliant. I think I'm in love with the Dirty Riches boys. The story was full of twists and turns and I kept thinking it was about to resolve and then we were on another loop in the rollercoaster.

I'm not used to reading these days so I read this book in two chunks. one in February and I kept meaning to get back to it. last night I started again and could

I inhaled, devoured, loved this book. Funny, sexy, emotional. SUCH a satisfying book! Tiny editing errors and I only mention that because Iʻm normally anal about that, but I loved this story so much I did not mind them at all. Seriously though, stuff like that is normally like a Brillo pad against my brain. Goes to show how much I enjoyed this story. I even tweeted about it! #isitspongeworthy. THIS BOOK IS DEFINITELY SPONGEWORTHY!

This was a tough one to tackle. Needs a lot of editing and it really is too long. There could have been quite a bit cut out of this story. This story wasn't terrible. The story line was decent and that's what kept me reading. If the author went through and fixed the punctuation, did a good edit and removed a lot of the unnecessary bull, it would be better.

I really enjoyed reading this as I am usually not that much interested in rock band related books but I couldn't put this down as the two main characters were so funny at times. And I am really enjoying read this new author so I would recommend her all my book friends.

Another highly entertaining but lighthearted rock star romance. A few too many typos and errors surprisingly but they didn't overly affect my enjoyment of the story. I'll definitely read more from this author and this series.

Rock Stars Don't Like Big Knickers is the story of Martha and Luke. Martha is a 33 year old single mother to a 17 year old daughter. She has just taken a job as the housekeeper for the property her cottage sits on. The mansion has recently been purchased by Luke who is the lead singer of Dirty Riches, a very popular band that hasn't performed in four years due to some personal issues. Martha is a fan, especially of Luke with whom she went

Full of fun and suspense and key laugh out loud moments when you least expect them.

I really enjoyed this story. Martha's clear adoration and dedication to her daughter have kept her from having time to focus on her own happiness. This novel describes what happens when she finally opens up enough to live her life for her. The mother daughter relationship is, to me, what makes Martha so appealing. She is selfless and kind and truly ready for more. And she enters Luke's life just when he needs

Ok to start I was thinking Martha? Betty? Old ladies? Haha but I quickly got over my distaste for their names. This was a charming little story. Heard it recommend on Natasha's book junkie page and thought I would check it out. There were some tear jerker moments where I really was teary but I like a good cry during a book. There were times I wanted to scream at Luke but his charm and sweetness won me over. Their epilogue was adorable also and so happy I took the time to read this. Wouldn't mind ...more

A rockers life is always full of ups, downs, angst and weird crazy people. So why should Luke Mahoney's life be any different. Until he meets single mum Martha Bright and she doesn't hesitate putting him in his place.
She has him from the moment she walks in on him naked and she's always had a crush on him from school that flares back to life as soon as she sees him.
Martha is a strong woman having gone through a lot on her own
You will cheer for these two all the way

All of these High reviews are beneath me! Really there is so much wrong with this that its crazy!!! I do not recommend this book to anyone. The worst part is that I actually liked the characters in the beginning. But if you are going to make your characters 30+ make sure they act like it in a relationship. Otherwise its just annoying I felt like the author took a break between writing the beginning, middle, and end. I would have given the beginning 5 stars by itself but once our fav main charact ...more

Sometimes its the books you dont notice and seemingly dismiss that you enjoy a lot. This one was a recommended read and at first I wasnt sure but let me just say covers shouldn't be judge. I love it the usual genre gets a spin or just a different perspective. This is set in UK and I enjoy British humor and slang so I had fun the laughs with this not cliche too. Definitely not your typical rocker story but all good times and a smile after. Just what I needed.

This was my first book by this author and overall it was an enjoyable story. I did feel that it was a bit long winded but the characters were strong and they made me laugh at times. There were also a lot of grammatical errors and mistakes littered throughout the book which I found really irritating. However, I haven't been completely put off this author so there is a chance I'd read her again.

This book started off good but went downhill. I did enjoy the secondary characters.

What I Had Issues With

I had times where I was confused about how much time had passed and had to go back.

A conflict the author presented (this one really bugged me) was glossed over.

Heroine was supposed to be strong but caved quickly with little to no groveling by hero.

I loved this light hearted and fun read. The story had me hooked immediately (ok I was hooked from the title!) The characters were brilliant and I liked the fact that the they were in their early thirties.
