Incursion is a fast paced sci-fi thriller that’s packed with action and high tense scenes. If you like fast paced novels and stories that are more plot-driven you may enjoy this story. I did unfortunately find this book tough to read. The writing style wasn’t for me, there was a lack of character development, pacing felt a little off at times, and the ending was a little bit cliche for me. The plot had potential, I think with more developmental editing this story could’ve flourished. Keep up the work Jalen, I’m excited to see how you progress!

Definitely enjoyed this fast paced, action packed, mystery/ thriller sci-fi! It was so much fun to delve into this world and explore.

Release date is sometime 2025 March. Riley as a main character has a difficult time with his situation and as a reader we feel the same way. Sometimes it was hard to be on his side when he kept choosing the worst things!

Definitely would enjoy more short stories in this world to flesh out the world building.

This was a fast-paced, action-packed sci-fi thriller that keeps you hooked right until the end. While it might not delve deeply into character development, it more than makes up for it with relentless action and thrills! I loved the subtle hints of government secrets and conspiracies, alien takeovers, and the concept of a multi-layered parallel universe, all wrapped into one gripping story. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, turning pages with jaw-dropping moments and a cliffhanger ending that leaves you breathless. I’m not usually a fan of cliffhangers, but in this case, it felt like the perfect way to end the story. And who knows—maybe we’ll get a sequel to find out what happens next!

I am so honored to have received an ARC of this book!! All thoughts are my own 💌

First off, I really liked Jalen’s writing style. It’s fast-paced and immersive, which made the book easy to get through. Since it’s short, I ended up finishing it in just one day!

Now, onto the story. The concept had so much potential. However, it didn’t fully live up to what I was expecting. Riley, the main character, didn’t feel fully developed—his actions seemed inconsistent, and it made him a bit hard to be someone I would root for. The scene shifts were also a bit confusing. I just wish this part of the story had been longer and explored in more depth.

As for the ending, it wasn’t what I was expecting at all—it really shook me. I’ll give two stars just for how much the ending surprised me. I think the book had a lot of potential, but I feel like the story could have been fleshed out more overall. I’m giving this book 3 stars.

Still, I’m grateful for the opportunity to read it early, and I’ll definitely be following Jalen's work in the future. Wishing all the best for the release!!

This was a good, action packed, quick read. The plot was interesting and the main character, Riley, was a character who was both likable and a little irritating with some of his choices. I would love to read more in this world and I enjoyed the time I spent reading this.
