I never planned on going back to Hung Island, Georgia. Ever.

I was a top notch Were agent for the secret paranormal Council and happily living in Chicago where I had everything I needed – a gym membership, season tickets to the Cubs and Dwayne – my gay, Vampyre best friend. Going back now would mean facing the reason I’d left and I’d rather chew my own paw off than deal wit

Don’t judge. Y’all know you’ve probably read some pretty shallow stuff a time or two as well . . .

Ready to Were is the story of Essie, a woman who hightailed it out of her small Georgia town when she found out Ha
I'm on an email list where I get free books each week online if I want to download them and this was one of them. TOTAL WIN!!! It was soooo fun, snarky, and adorable. I'm happy that it will be a series.

So, we have Essie, a werewolf who works for WTF - Werewolf Treaty Federation. I already love the acronym. She left her small town a year ago to take this job when she found out that her worthless boyfriend had cheated on her. But, she's being sent back into this town for a job. I hope she bites hi

While this is not a bad book, it is not a good book either. Like most of the aspects of this book, everything is balanced, which leaves only a bland sandwich for readers to sink their teeth into.

Many of the characters (indeed, all of the evil ones) are horribly one-dimensional, ignoring the opportunity to breath some extra life into this novel. The plot is predictable, and only the actions and lines of Essie’s gay vampire BFF Dwayne created an aura of inspired creativity. Essie is our female lea

This is a straight-forward read but a little too, uh, manufactured for my taste. Both the characters and their situations tended to be broadcast a little broadly with too many contrivances to buy into at all. I mean, she left a year ago and in that time she not only completed super speshal agent training, but became a top agent with lots of experience to lean on. When it turned out how stupid she was in leaving in the first place, I kind of lost all respect for her. I might have made it further, ...more
I love snark, furry snark, old snark, fiery snark, sparkly snark, nothing beats a good laugh. If you add a good story, with some heartbreak, back stabbing and kick arse action you have a winning combination for this reader. This book hit that happy spot, I enjoyed it, had fun with these characters and chuckled loudly in public while reading it. I can't believe I almost passed up on this and it was (is still) am Amazon freebie. Hey, the majority of them have been lacking for me. Give it a try, th ...more
Robyn Peterman books always make laugh, great start to a new series :)
So, I Read This Book Today
Laughed my stomach sore “He’s her mate and he dipped his stick in several other … actually many other oil tanks. So she dumped his furry player ass, snuck away in the middle of the night and hadn’t really planned on ever going back there again.” – Dwayne
Last night was “cleanse the palette” night. After some difficult reads, with deep thought processes needed, it was time to pull up a “freebie” from an Indie author. Ground rules: the author’s first book in a series (I had thought this was actual

Dwayne always likes to give information not wanted, "he's her mate and he dipped his stick in several other..actually many other oil tanks. So she dumped his furry player a**, snuck away in the middle of the night and hadn't really planned on ever going back there again." Granny reminds me of mine not as eccentric but still opened minded, "I have about fourteen sequinned bras," Granny chimed in as she sauntered into the kitchen and grabbed a muffin. "Some of them are nipple-less, but I'm sure I ...more

I really enjoyed this book, it was different and I really didn't know what to expect.

I loved the narration I wasn't expecting her to be so alive and fun to listen to.

I will be continuing this series!

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Fun, snarky, sex filled, romp.

I loved this book. It is funny, sexy, action packed, and slightly silly at times. The best part is, these characters will be back! We can share more adventures with them!!

From the name of the island to the personalities of the characters, this authors wit was apparent. Essie is this spitfire WTF agent (and no it is not what you all are thinking). Her best friend Dwayne is this her very flamboyant, gay best friend. Then we have sex on a stick Hank. This is the first book I have read by Robyn Peterman and holy smokes, I can guarantee you it won't be my last. I laughed out loud at the characters. I loved the interactions between Essie and Granny. This is a feel good ...more

I love Robyn Peterman because every time I pick up one of her books, I know I am going to love the original story line, laugh hysterically at all of the characters and walk away with a bunch of new funny as hell cuss words! Plus her heroes are always super hot, ultra sexy and major alphas! Hank was no different! OMG Dwayne was fantastic as well as granny, they were so funny! Essie was the perfect partner for Hank, yeah she was gullible in her youth but she owned up to her mistakes and she grew i ...more

Robyn Peterman is hilarious! Little plot, but Ready to Were is a fast, smooth read and a great pick me up during those mornings or before bed! Agent Essie griping when she reunites with her ex, the small-town police chief she has to work with on a missing persons case:

"He sat down behind his desk in the chair we'd nicknamed the BJ Mobile and crossed his stupidly muscled arms over his stupidly muscled chest."

Ready To Were, Shift Happens series by Robyn Peterman is another winner for Robyn.
Essie is a secret werewolf agent sent to her hometown, Hung Island. Hank is the Alpha werewolf sheriff and Essie's ex. The sparks and the hilarious snarky comments will keep you reading as together they try to solve the mystery.

The secondary characters of Dwayne, Essie's grandmother, and the others were all great supporting characters that added dimension to both Essie and Hung Island. Fabulous new cuss words from

If you need a good laugh, Ready to Were: Shift Happens is just the ticket! Even the title made me giggle. Essie, the werewolf secret agent, and her sidekick/best friend Dwayne, the 300 year old flamboyantly gay vampire, travel to Hung Island (her hometown) and hijinks ensue! Hank, the well-hung (pun intended) werewolf sheriff/Alpha is determined to get back in Essie's pants. Granny BS and the Tinas are just some of the colorful characters you'll meet in this hilarious and brilliant story. I can' ...more

Once again Robyn Peterman delivers a book that is full of action and intrigue. The dialogue and inner musings of the characters in Ready to Were are laugh out loud funny, while the story is filled with characters so full of love, I'm left wishing I could be part of their group. Robyn always writes characters that are so down to earth and real that you feel like you know them and miss them when you turn the last page of the book.

I have to say that it has been confirmed that Robyn Peterman is certifiably hilarious. This book had me laughing out loud. Rip roaring funny! A little steamy and a darn good story. This is not for folks who like dark gothic werewolves. But if you like a snarky heroine, a hunky hero and a bunch of looney-toon secondary characters this romp is for you.
This made for a quick, quirky and at times hilarious paranormal read. While the story was never very emotional or intense I found myself really enjoying the wide array of crazy characters. I also appreciate it being offered as a freebie. I'll check out more in this series and definitely more of this writer's work

WTF! Werewolf Federation Treaty. Only the crazy, warped mind of Robyn Peterman can come up with something as awesome as that! This is a sexy & funny read that you'll love. I know I did. Robyn Peterman never disappoints!

Essie has spent the last year proving herself to be one of the best new agents for the Council. But everything begins to waver when she is assigned a mission that will take her back to the hometown she ran away from.

This was an awful lot of fun!
Ready to Were is an easy read. It doesn't have particularly in-depth characters; nor is any of it's plot-twists actually twisting or surprising. But if you want a light paranormal read, with enough wit and intrigue to be very entertaining, this is it!

This book had me laughing out loud. It's been a while since I found a series that had the laughs. Hopefully it continues in book two. I thought that Peterman resolved the tension between the two main characters a little too soon. I would have liked to see Essie give Hank the gears for a bit longer. All in all though, this was a fun read.

One small detail - I'm type A so this drove me crazy - one of the supporting characters name changes in the book (at least the digital copy I had). First his las
