252 books132 followersI grew up in the Midlands, but when I moved to Wales, over twenty years ago, I found a place to finally put down roots. I married into a farming family and embarked on a massive learning curve which also saw me learning Welsh when my two children were small.
Writing is something I have always wanted to do and I can still remember the thrill of one of my short stories being held up as an example to the class when I was about nine. It wasn’t until my own children were in school that I seriously started to pursue my dream. I joined a local writing group which met every Monday afternoon and being with like-minded people was the boost I needed.
Reading romance had always been my first love, and just about every short story I wrote was romance, so I decided to write my first book. During that process I also attended my first weekend writing course with Kate Walker and joined the RNA’s fabulous New Writers’ Scheme. A short time later I joined Romance Writers of Australia and learnt a lot from entering their competitions. I sought out courses and you can imagine my joy when I discovered Sharon Kendrick’s course in beautiful Tuscany.
Behind the Scandalous Façade, my So You Think You Can Write entry, is my thirteenth book and although only eight have those magic words ‘the end’ written on them the others are definitely part of the learning process I have enjoyed over the last six years.
I love escaping to distant shores with my characters, entering their glamorous world and feeling all the emotions they experience as they discover their love for one another. A love so strong it will overcome all obstacles eventually, leading to that promised happy ever after.

I really really really really really disliked this story 😩.
The h was a bloody snowflake who was quite happy to blame everyone in the book for her brothers death without accepting any responsibility herself.
She spend 99.9% of the story blaming the H and accusing of all sorts of heinous crimes from killing her brother with his death trap car, covering up the death trap car accident and seducing her for the paparazzi benefit to clear his name which didn't need clearing anyway he was totally innocent.
Why on earth was she such a snowflake that she couldn't be told the truth about her brother? I mean come on!!! Also the way their relationship is described it's a bit weird they seem unnaturally close yet and she seemed to resent him leaving to go work in Italy. Then she doesn't go visit him some relationship. Also why did the brother develop a drink and drug problem? This never seemed to be adequately explained.
The poor H is the one sipping the kool aid on this occasion he puts up with all her crap and accusations and actually seems like a very nice guy.
We get a hasty love declaration in the last paragraph from the h (after all her nasty accusations are proved wrong) and the book stops dead. I can only assume by this point the author realised what an unlikable twonk her h was and couldn't be assed to type the last few pages.
I am consigning this one to the fiery pits of hell as its making me want to throw my iPad at the wall and I am taking myself off for a very large vino to wash away the nasty aftertaste this book has left.

I don't know how to even start this review because I was kind of up and down with this book. A majority of it I didn't like and didn't find myself connected with the characters or the story. It just kind of felt all over the place especially the beginning which put me all out of sorts. It just didn't feel right.
Why was the beginning kind of a mess for me? The lust was powerful to say the least but it was almost too much, too overpowering that it remained the focus of the start of the book. I am sorry to say that it was bordering on sickening. Way too much focus on that side of their relationship. There was less focus on the conflict and emotional side of the story. There needed to be more of a balance between the conflict, emotional and their heightened attraction to one another. Just I didn't like how much emphasis there was on that side of their relationship. Just too much.
It was just a foregone conclusion that they were going to give in to their attraction (not that it isn't in a Presents). It was just so obvious. There was no suspense to it. No will they, won't they aspect that makes romances interesting and exciting and makes it worth reading. But that wasn't the case here and it took the excitement away, for me at least.
With that being said, I think when they finally gave into their intense attraction, it was a relief then the book became a little bit better. Their sexy times scenes were passionate as all that lust got released. It was hot between them as consuming as their lust. Their physical connection was very clear.
What I liked most between Charlie and Sandro was their romantic weekend because it was as romantic as it was passionate. It was beautifully written and very well done. That weekend together felt they were growing closer and developing a bond with one another. It was the beginning of deeper relationship. Not quite love even according to them but it was heading that way.
Another thing that didn't quite jive for me was believable obstacles that would keep them apart. There were stirrings there where it could have been considered a conflict in their way but it just didn't feel it was in a meaningful way. The conflict seemed ver moot to me how it was presented in the book. With the biggest conflict being Charlie's brother and how she blamed Sandro for his death. I don't see how. It didn't make a lot of sense to me. I guess she was just trying to put the blame on some in and that happened to be him but still I couldn't see where she was coming from. It could have been a great conflict as well as the conflict with him promising her brother to take care of her not lust after her but the execution wasn't so good. It made the book less angsty as well emotional. Less intense. Just more could have been done to up the stakes in their romance. There other conflicts that could have been handled better as well to up the ante.
I didn't care for the character of Charlie. She wasn't likable. She was to busy playing the blame game with Sandro. It was a big turn off. I wasn't rooting for. Sandro, yes, but not her. I didn't get her or connect with her at all. Might have effected my enjoyment of this story.
I did like Sandro. I felt for him and felt bad for him. He was taking all the blame when he didn't deserve it. He was never cruel to her or treated her like the enemy if anything he treated her with care and respect. His passion for her was real and hot. He couldn't help but want her skin to skin with him. Also he really cared about her brother and was distraught about his passing. He had a big heart and I enjoyed him. I just thought he got the short end of the stick in this book.

King of the racing circuit, Sandro Roselli might send Charlotte Warrington's pulse into overdrive, but he's also hiding something about her brother's death. Sandro has offered Charlotte a job but she will make sure that 's she the one in the drivers seat on the road to uncover his secret.
But as we all know life in the fast lane, is dangerous and with Sandro it's a danger no woman wants to get involved in, except Charlotte can't seem to stop craving. She craves Sandro's touch , craves the walking danger-zone he is, she want's to lose herself in his intoxicating world. He is literally driving her crazy! There's no reason for her not to take what Sandro is offering, but will their affair survive the dark secret he hides?
Everyone that knows me well enough knows I absolutely LOVE romance books and I LOVE racing, and that I am addicted to anything Italian ! So of course when you combine the three , it's a thrill I cannot resist.
Sadly the author's of racing romance books, don't always get it right. The entire adrenalin rush that goes with racing and a super thrilling romance needs to really draw me in, with the words romance and racing they already have my attention but the trick is to keep it.
I am totally revved up to report that Rachael Thomas made the list! She kept my attention from page one, put me in the front row for all the action. I felt the pure adrenalin rushing through my veins just as fast as the cars sped around the track, and not once did I get the " This is such a load of hogwash, racing is never like that!" feeling at all.
I loved the fiery passion between Sandro and Charlotte, it was just as addictive as the thrill of reading about a racing hero. And did I mention it's set in stunning Italy! And oh my gosh the emotional level of this read, wow just wow! I cried, I laughed, I screamed, I pulled my hair out and I even wanted to literally kill the hero, but of course I forgave him , every racing fan knows the drivers always have a reason for their actions and acting a little out of the start-up-line.
There is only one other author from Mills and Boon that has been able to take racing and romance and combine it into the perfect read, so a huge congratulations to Rachael Thomas you have definitely made the list!
I could say so much more about this read but if I do I would go on and on and on ( like anyone else would when they speak about perfection) but of course it would ruin it for other readers, so I will end it off by saying , if you love gorgeous Italy as the setting, an off the charts hot motor sport hero, a totally awesome heroine , roaring cars ,speed, adrenalin and a rush that will leave you breathless, all penned by an amazing author, jump into your car, race out to the shops and pick up this little guaranteed gem of a read.

Set against the fast and furious backdrop of motor sport, Charlie is forced to face the nightmares of her brother's horror crash when Sandro comes knocking on her door. A year has passed since her beloved brother passed away and the last place Charlie want to be is at the big reveal of the car her brother was working on before he died.
Sandro sets out to honor Charlies brother's promise but it's hard when the two finally meet and they're hit in the side by the intense feelings they have towards each other, the emotional tug and pull of heartstrings due to their mutual connection and the passionate nature of each person. Sandro, because he's not revealed everything there is to know about the crash and Charlie because, as much as she tries to hate Sandro and tries to hold him responsible for the, she can't ignore the magnetic pull she feel's in Sandro's company.
Set in the beautiful Italy, Craving her Enemy's Touch is an emotional story and one which completely filled my mind and and attention with the flow of the story, the perfect characters and the absorbing story line. I very much enjoyed that there was no hostility on Sandro's part (as in the general Harlequin Heros), that he knew how he felt from day one but felt honour bound by his promise. I loved Charlie, she's one awesome chic and perfect for Sandro.
A wonderful read and will be well enjoyed by all, especially those who like slightly different heroines :D

Craving her enemy's touch by Rachael Thomas was a very enjoyable read. Charlotte Warrington was hiding from the world, finding solace in her garden at the lost of her brother Sebastian - a racing car driver, the world she used to live in and breathe. Then out of the blue arrived the one man she hated, the one man she blamed for her brother's death Sandro Roselli his boss and partner. From the beginning there is an attraction between them. At first they both tried to deny and ignore. He offers her a job at the launch of the new car the same car that killed her brother, saying Seb wanted her there. She only agrees to go to find out the truth. Why her brother died? Believing the truth had been covered up to save Roselli's neck. So goes back to Milan with Sandro. Sandro had made promises to her brother that he had needed and wanted to keep but fighting his attraction for Charlie (Charlotte) was getting harder and harder every second they spend together. He had been burnt once and was never going to go down that track again. He only had affairs. Charlie had also been burnt and both giving into those feelings, they have a hot passionate night, only one night, well supposed to be but feeling throw spanners in the works, as usual. Their passion runs deep, but so did hidden truths that will rip Charlie's world apart what Sandro tried to stop from happening. Fast cars, hot Italians, passion running deep and secrets make for a great read. Another fabulous story by Rachael Thomas.

Craving Her Enemy’s Touch by Rachael Thomas was a well written romance with an interesting plot line and the beautiful Italy as the backdrop.
Sandro is a sexy hero who is honorable and does not believe in love or commitment due to his past. I loved him because he was both mature and charming. Charlotte is a strong heroine who never backs down in her search for the truth. She had been burned before and was not willing to risk her heart again. The characters share an amazing chemistry which makes the romance both passionate and enjoyable. The secret around Charlotte brother, Seb’s death add an extra zing to the story.
Overall, I can confidently say that this is definitely the author’s best work to date and would be enjoyed by everyone who prefers their romance with an adrenaline rush much like the race circuits!Read More

I absolutely hated this. I’ve not come across such a vicious, unpleasant heroine in a Mills and Boon book before.
She just never let up on blaming the hero for her brother’s death. It never made sense as to why she would put all the blame on him and therefore the rest of the story failed to come to life.
If I was the hero, I would have walked away and left her. Boring, unbelievable, frustrating. I was certainly in favour of the Hero and could not fathom why he bothered with her! I ended up skimming through. Not for me!
Right up to the last couple of pages she is raging at the Hero and accusing him of all kinds of stuff. I really, really disliked her.
Finally, the ending was so fast and unexpected, I turned the page looking for the rest of the story. Really, dreadfully unsatisfying.

"Craving her enemy's touch" by Rachel Thomas was an enjoyable book. We meet Sandro Roselli and Charlotte Warrington. Both are involved in the racing circuit. Charlotte's (Charlie) brother Sebastian was killed during a test drive of the car that Sandro and Sebastian were working on. Sandro is keeping a secret from Charlie about her brothers death because of a promise made to her father. He also promised Sebastian that he would take care of her. Lust between the two finds a way to get between them, and Charlie knows that Sandro is keeping a secret from her.
This was a pretty easy read. Best if you read Chapter to chapter if you have to put the book down.

This is such a great story with a sizzling sensual romance it is fast paced with a beautiful setting as Charlotte Warrington Charlie as she is known to her friends and family and Alessandro Roselli (Sandro) racing car designer journey to a very open honest and loving HEA. After the death of her brother in a car accident Charlie is determined to find out the truth and Sandro is the person the needs to answer her questions and she is sure he is telling her lies, don't miss this one it is sure to keep you turning the pages. I loved this one.

She hates him believing him to be the reason of her brother's death and despises herself for loving him anyways.
He promised her brother that he would take care of her believing his friend meant as a brother would and despises himself for wanting a forever with her despite a promise he made.
With lies and half-truth playing a huge part in their lives, these two play a game of hide and seek to reach their ultimate destiny. Forever.
Rachel, this is a wonderful story that I enjoyed immensely.

No me gusta hablar mal de un libro porque al final es algo que cada escritor hace con cariño y dedicación, pero es que en este caso… me es muy complicado sacar algo en positivo, por lo menos desde la lectura que yo he hecho.
Compré este libro en la playa, para tener algo que leer puesto que me había dejado todas mis lecturas en casa, y este libro, aunque supe que no sería de una gran calidad literaria, pensé que por lo menos sería entretenido y ágil, como suelen serlo las novelas de trama romántica de este estilo de publicaciones; pero nada que ver.
La trama era plana y simple, el misterio, predecible desde el capítulo segundo, los personajes planos, sin desarrollo, ni evolución, y lo mismo ocurre con la historia de amor, que es irreal y parece sacada de una película mala de antena3.
Los personajes, además de carecer de personalidad propia, eran irritantes y tenían reacciones irreales a los problemas planteados, casi más propias de una telenovela mala de los domingos por la tarde que de una lectura romántica. De verdad, que qué vergüenza ajena algunas escenas. Las reacciones estereotipadas que tiene Charlie sólo por ser mujer y por lo tanto “sensible y débil para la verdad”… es que, de verdad que no hay nada en este libro que estuviera bien.
¿El misterio? Tanta “intriga” y tanto “drama” por algo que se ve venir desde el capítulo dos si no antes… ¡qué decepciónnn! si vas a incorporar un halo de misterio a una historia romántica (si esto se puede llamar así porque el “romance” es desarrollado de repente sin ningún sentido), qué menos que esforzarse en hacerlo creíble o bueno ¡misterioso! porque ni el misterio ha conseguido ser intrigante.
Una lectura para nada recomendada, ¿el final? un clásico estereotipo de las películas románticas… ¿y las últimas líneas? No sé, ¿tantas ganas tenía de acabar la novela la autora que ni un final decente podía darle? Parece como cuando empiezas a hacer un trabajo el día de antes de la entrega y comienzas genial y conforme pasa el tiempo empeora hasta acabar siendo un desastre que se nota que está hecho en el último segundo, sin ganas y con prisas.
Pff… de verdad que me ha decepcionado mucho. No he empatizado con ningún personaje ni he conseguido sumergirme para nada en la historia, y de verdad, ¡qué final más rápido y qué mal llevado!

Charlie Warrington is still trying to get over her brother's death in a car accident in Italy when his business partner, Sandro, shows up to invite her to the launch of the new car that her brother was test driving when he died. Charlie of course wants nothing to do with it since she blames Sandro for the death of her brother. But she reluctantly agrees if only to investigate further and finally find out what happened. There's an inconvenient bit of attraction between Sandro and Charlie but she's not about to let that get in her way. Sandro however, is actively fighting it because he promised her brother to protect her and be therefor her, not to seduce her.
I just couldn't get into this. First of all I pretty much despised Charlie. Most heroines in HPland go through live believing the best of everyone. Charlie believes the worst. She learns that her brother died test driving a car. She doesn't wonder if it was an accident or if maybe her brother was to blame - she automatically blames Sandro, because he was working on the car with her brother? I couldn't grasp her logic there. So maybe she's working on pure emotion and just looking for a scapegoat. But later, after she's been with Sandro for a bit (and blaming him for her brother's death every other page) this cynicism takes on new and interesting turns. After they've slept together, Charlie sees a photo of them kissing on the front page. She IMMEDIATELY jumps to the conclusion that he staged the whole thing for his and his company's benefit. She accuses him of inviting her to the launch not because her brother wanted it, but because he wanted to the media to clear his name of her brother's death (nevermind that it hadn't accused him). She sees the accident report for her brother's death and automatically assumes that Sandro falsified it...she has to confirm it with others before she'll believe it. Then she jumps to another conclusion that Sandro hid the report to save his own company's reputation and not her brother's. And this woman claims to love Sandro? How can she believe he's capable of all those things and claim to love him? At the end, in their confrontation, she's throwing out all these accusations and then the very next page declaring her love. WTF? How could he possibly believe it when she was so ready to believe the worst of him? I just couldn't buy into their love with all of her cynicism holding her back. And I'm just saying, she needed to frickin' apologize. And after all that turmoil, an epilogue would have been nice too.
I did like Sandro. He was a bit typical of HP heroes, but not too smug and arrogant and I liked that for once it was the heroine who was creating all the angst. Usually it's a blackmailing hero or something. I really liked that Sandro seemed to really fall in love first and was so very patient with Charlie...not that she deserved it.

Craving Her Enemy's Toucb by Rachael Thomas was a cute, quick read that definitely fit the Harlequin Passion series. The small novel followed Charlotte Warrington after her brother is killed, and she wants to uncover the secret about his death. She goes to the racing circuit expedition and is immediately drawn towards Sandro Roselli, the man her brother used to call a friend.
The book follows the intense relationship that goes on between Charlotte and Sandro, and it includes a lot of R rated passionate scenes that can heat up the pages pretty quickly. I found that the book moved at just the right speed that I did not get bored with the relationship, but it didn't move to fast either. Rachael Thomas did a good job pacing this novel out.
The novel doesn't have many faults, other than I felt it ended rather abruptly. I would have preferred a drawn out ending explaining more of what happened, but that is more of a preference than a problem. It seemed very short, but it is a Harlequin novel, and they are not often the longest pieces of fiction.
Overall, it was a good, quick read but it wasn't the most interesting novel in the world. The plot is often used in many different romances, but the setting was unique. I would definitely recommend this novel to readers who like passionate romance, but it wouldn't be the first book I recommend to just any reader.

Tragedy, secrets, and mega-chemistry...that is what you will find in this story! Charlie and Sandro were two people who were put in a difficult spot, but somehow they landed on their feet and in one another's arms.

This book was a DNF, that I just could not ever get fully into. The parts that I did read were well written but I just never really got invested in the characters enough to finish the book.

I didn't like it. The heroine was insufferable, she blamed hero for her brothers death til almost the last page. Even when she found out the truth that her brother was drinking and on drugs when he crashed, her first thoughts were that hero fabricated the accident report. Then she thought he only kept it quiet to protect his reputation and it took alot for her to finally believe him.
I liked the hero and did not want him to be with the heroine by the end of the book. The ending was very abrupt and I do not forsee him having a successful relationship with her. She always thinks the worst of him everytime something happens. I can barely recall her actually liking him as a person, when she she was nice to him it was because she was attracted to him. Otherwise she was blaming him for her brothers death or accusing him of using her for publicity for the car. Np.

She does everything in her power to get to the bottom of things...except ask Sandro or her father (whom Sandro makes clear that he knows) or do any investigation or even get the police report. Basically, she thinks about his death a lot, tells herself that she'll get to the bottom of it, but actually does nothing.
Meanwhile, Sandro is a bit of a sexist jerk, assuming she'll do what he tells her, probably because she does having been used to doing her father and brother's bidding her whole life. He doesn't think she can handle knowing about what really happened without really knowing anything about her. he chastises her for not wanting to get married again, when he, himself, is in the same boat. Heck, I'm not even sure if he got Charlie off in the sex scenes as they were all about his climax, not hers.
All in all, the characters are rather unlikable and don't develop through the story. They stay the same unlikable people.
I'd pass on this one. I actually skipped the last two chapters because I really didn't care at this point how they reconciled their mutual dislike for relationships or Sandro finally telling Charlie what happened to Seb.

Charlotte is seeking answers about the tragic death of her brother. Knowing the only person who can supply her with the facts is Sandro she agrees to work for him. Her intentions are to stick close and uncover any secrets that Sandro is hiding about her brother's death. What happens is Charlotte starts to become drawn to the aura of Sandro and that is dangerous because she needs the truth, no matter what. This was an intriguing story with a few twist and turns. To find out the story reading this book is a MUST. I enjoyed the story and applaud Rachael Thomas's style of writing. Although I am not huge fan of car racing the book did not contain enough to deter me from this story. Received an ARC of Craving Her Enemy's Touch for an honest review.

Charlotte Warrington has been hiding herself away trying to overcome the depression she feels over the loss of her brother who died in the race car he designed. She believes its the owner of the company that is responsible and Alessandro Roselli knows he is not responsible for Seb's death but had made him death bed promise to take care of his sister and protect her from the truth. What transpires is a wonderful story of how two people who do not do "ever after" find sometimes in the sorrow is so much happiness. A fantastic story with some anger and lots of discoveries some hurtful some warm and wonderful. Not a book to miss.Rachael Thomas is an author to follow.

CRAVING HER ENEMY’S TOUCH By Rachael Thomas is a glamorous, sparkling romance both refreshing and fast-paced. The salacious plot moves the story forward with an easy flow due to Rachael’s vibrant writing style, dynamic characters, beautiful setting and engaging dialogue. This is Rachael’s best work yet and I personally guarantee readers will love Sandro Roselli and Charlotte (Charlie) Warrington as much as I did. Surely, fans are in for a delicious Presents treat with this character driven novel (!)

This was a good story BUT!!! I didn't enjoy the ending. It was rushed , messed, full with so much drama. I loved the hero . He was so passionate and caring but Charlotte was all the time confused with a shocking unbelievable sexual appetite.
