ARC received for review

Didn't read the first book and was only a little lost at the beginning. I'd take me a Ben any day or Tyler or Briggs or Luke...

Ben and Saria...hard to believe in a year of his being her only bodyguard that they haven't had sex or even touched. Especially since her twin in the same situation is now pregnant and getting married. Overall a good bodyguard to lover to wedding bells with a bad guy to catch along the way.

I enjoyed this book. It had much more intensity than the first. We finally get to know Ben from the first book and a lot about his past was revealed. But as like the first book I think it wasn't long enough. There was a lot that needed exploring about Ben and also his relationship with Saria. It was a great read but felt incomplete to me. One careless mistake that would confuse a reader and that is the villain's name. It suddenly changed from Lydia to Mia in the middle of the book.

Maybe I should read the 1st book first? But it featured a dfferent couple so I presumed this could be read as standalone, however, the lack of build-up between H and h made me doubt it. If that's the case, my bad then.

Great Series!
This is a great series; this is the second book in the Bodyguards series by Joanne Wadsworth. This book can be read as a standalone because it is Saria’s story, however, if you want the whole story you may want to read the first book before reading this one. It has been a year since Saria and her twin sister entered The Program, her sister witnessed a murder and the bad guys have been after them, now all the bad guys are believed to be in jail. Saria has fallen with her bodyguard Ben so now that he is not her bodyguard any longer she sets out to seduce him. Ben has avoided relationships because of his history of his father, but he can’t turn Saria’s offer down. When Saria and her sister’s life are put in danger again, he will stop at nothing to protect them. If you are looking for a great romance, with mystery and suspense then you need to read this book.
A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

It's Saria's story and she's had a year in the program and the protection of Ben Hammers, they have become really close but have not taken the final step in their relationship.
The suspense in the story carry's on from book 1, Saria joins her sister on a cruise who is making plans for her wedding, she misses her bodyguard so she asks him to join them, which is a good thing as she is again faced with more trouble and in need of help.
I liked Ben, he was a very sensitive character, and Saria also, she was very caring towards Bens feelings and very loyal.
Lot's of thrills and action in this great summer read and the romance is smoking hot. I love the Bodyguards! I want more!

This is a book two in a series, and started off right where the first one ended, so it took me a minute to get into the story.
It is an interesting set up, Ben and Saria have been basically living together for the past year, as Ben has been protecting her. For the past couple months, Saria's fears have been so intense, they have even slept in the same bed.
Now the danger is supposed to be over, and Saria is missing Ben, who arrives to the yacht, for Saria's sister's upcoming wedding.
Saria and Ben have a rather codependent relationship, they obviously have deeper feelings for each other. But a relationship is not an option for Ben, as he feels he has to pay for his father's sins. Saria is relentless, she wants Ben, and will do anything to get him. There are several detailed love scenes in the story, as Ben and Saria work out their relationship.
The action and suspense are on the back burner in the story, and even when the danger comes back to their doorsteps, the situation is solved quickly in the story.
I had a bit hard time connecting with the characters. Some of the situations seemed off, not quite believable, and the dialog was awkward at times. The natural flow in the story wasn't constant. But it was an easy and fast read, with lots of sexy times, and passionate, protective alpha males, guarding their women.

“Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review”

Book 2 in this series picks up right where the first book left off. On the run from a woman and her hired thugs determined to kill her twin and herself, Saria once again finds herself needing her protector Ben at her side as danger finds both her and her sister. Ben, determined and honor bound by his own vows as well as a past he keeps guarded; finds not only the power and will to keep the woman he loves safe, but find a way to release himself from the past he never had any say over.

This book was a great read. Once I started, I simply couldn't put it down. The only thing I didn't like was that Saria went from being weak and needy one moment to finding strength and courage and a will to be strong in almost the next breath. Her emotions were very up and down. Though I imagine being in the situation that the character was placed; ones emotions would be like a roller coaster. For me, I wished that Saria wouldn't have been so dependent; however, that one fact aside, the book was a brilliant read by a brilliant author. Once more, I wasn't let down.

This book should probably not be read as a standalone as the story references a lot of past trauma and the reader is left filling in a lot of gaps. The main characters have previously met and had had intense interactions with one another as well. When the story opens, Saria is talking about a recent incident where she and her sister were up against a killer and had to live in a safe house with their bodyguards. Since the relationship between Saria and Ben had already been developed, and because I hadn’t read the prequel, I was left feeling like I jumped into their adventure midway through, which was frustrating.

Unfairly, I couldn’t bring myself to continue with the book. My first impression was made and my mind was already set against giving it a try. I think I’ll pick up the first book in this series then give this one another go sometime.

My thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for graciously providing Bodyguard Pursuit by Joanne Wadsworth in exchange for an honest review.

Saria Sands is finally safe. The ruthless killers that have hunted her and her twin have been arrested. Trouble is she can't bear to be away from her Bodyguard. Ben Hammers feels the same. He cares for her, but doesn't want a relationship. Where do they go from here? I was happy to see Lydia and Tyler from Book one. Now it's time for Saria to find her passion. She wants Ben, but he fights his desire for her. These two have powerful chemistry which makes for a very sensual story. Ben is a keeper. He's protective and passionate and he cares deeply. He needs to put his tragic past behind him and trust in love. This story is well written with great characters that I connected with. This story had a great mixture of romance and danger. The setting is romantic and the dialogue is witty. I enjoy Joanne Wadsworth's writing and Bodyguard Pursuit is no exception. This was a perfect summertime treat.

I wanted to like this book. I really did. It’s was ok, but not great. I know how hard authors work on their books, so I hate to leave bad reviews. I didn’t even want to finish it, but I was given a job, so I finished it.
The biggest drawback I had was the age difference between the H and h. Eleven years! I know of quite a few marriages where there was a 10 year difference and those did not work out very well. The men have a tendency to be overbearing and then some times when the older man cannot keep up with the younger woman. I even had a few of these in my family that ended in divorce. So the age difference was a big drawback for me.
Plus the H wanted just to sleep with the h, she was ok with that. She was all upbeat and still kissy face with him. There wasn’t any angst, a little is always good.
I was given an ARC of this book by NetGalley for an honest review.

Didn't Care For The Characters **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review**
Saria and her twin sister are now done with being in hiding for the past year after being pursued by a killer. Now Saria has set her sights on her bodyguard Ben, who keeps saying no even though his body is saying yes.
I didn't read the first book, so I don't know if that would have made a difference for me, but this book just didn't work for me. I got conflicting feelings about Saria and not really sure what to make of Ben. At the beginning of the story, Saria is innocent and is jumpy of her own shadow and is going crazy without having Ben there. As soon as Ben shows up, the only thing on her mind is getting on Ben. Plus, for someone scared of their own shadow, I found her to be a bit friendly on an island she wasn't used to. I had a real problem with Ben too.

Did Not Finish
June 11, 2015
Unfortunately, I did not finish the book. I think the #1 reason was I thought this would still be read as a standalone even though it was book 2 of a series. This seems to pick up soon after the first book and is centered on Book 1's twin sister and another bodyguard. Based on the little I read, these characters were well-established in the first book. Due to that, I felt like I was jumping in the middle of a story and was missing a LOT of pieces.

I received a copy of this story through NetGalley from the publisher for an honest review. I'd like to come back to this book at another time once I've read the 1st book.

I loved reading Joanne Wadsworth's book Bodyguard Pursuit. Joanne has delivered a well written book with lots of action and suspense. Ben and Saria's story is attention grabbing and kept me entertained from start to finish.. Bodyguard Pursuit has bits of humor and a few sexy scenes scattered through the story. While Bodyguard Pursuit is book two in the Bodyguards series, it can be read as a stand alone. This is a complete book, not a cliff hanger. I look forward to reading more from Joanne Wadsworth soon.

I received a copy of this book from a third party for review purposes.

Received a copy of the title in exchange for an honest review.

While I didn't read the first book in this series, I don't feel that it was necessary. I'm sure some things would have made more immediate sense had I read the previous story, but this was meant to be a standalone and follows different characters.

I love my protective males, and Ben has the protective alpha thing down. Joanne wrote this story well and the characters are developed in a way to keep the reader engrossed and not feeling like there are inconsistencies.

Ben has protected Saria the best he can, and now that the threat is past he misses her. Saria has always wanted Ben. When they get brought back together the professional line is blurred.

I'm not going to lie this was hard to read. there was so much dialogue going on where you really didn't need so much. We also get the impression Ben doesn't share well, yet he blabs to everyone his feelings and his past. I just felt it wasn't quite together as it should have been.

It's been a year since Saria and her twin have been in hiding. There is a wedding to plan and futures to look forward to, but are the bad guys still behind bars? Saria and her bodyguard Ben had grown close while he protected her. Now in paradise the flame is flaring, but Ben doesn't do relationships. Soon danger is coming for Saria will Ben be able to protect her? Will he be too late to tell how he feels?
