Great read but cliffhanger ending.

Ok I didn't expect the cliffhanger and maybe it's my fault because it stated it was 'Book 1' and that it was 'the first of at least 4 books in the serial' but I assumed, yes I know you should never assume but I thought, wrongly I know that each book would be about a different hero, so as you've gathered it has a huge cliffhanger ending.
Kate Samuel left home at eighteen to make her own way, her parents are rich and used it to control her so she left and has never looked back. She dreams about meeting a hero, a strong handsome man who'll whisk her off her feet but she's had bad experiences in the past so when she meets the handsome and heroic firefighter Lieutenant Matt Lewis should she go for it or should she tread carefully?
This was a great entertaining read and up until the end I was loving it, ok the end is good, I suppose but I hate cliffhangers.

As I read the title of this book, I will say I was a bit put off by "billionaire" in the title, thinking been there, done that. This first installment of the Salvation Series book proved me wrong.

Kate is a young woman with a bit of a past. She is living alone in New York and doing quite well. Putting herself through college for communications, she now has a job at a radio station which she loves. Her boss is also her friend George and other than him and his boyfriend, Kate keeps to herself. On her way home from the radio station Kate sees some houses on fire and as she gets closer, she sees a young boy screaming for help. Letting her instincts kick in, Kate saves the young boy and becomes a reluctant hero.

Handsome-Check, Sexy-Check Firefighter-Check. This guy is the whole stinking package while also having a sweet sensitive side, so you are on pins and needles waiting to see what is wrong with him. Matt is a New York City Firefighter who is on scene when Kate saves the young boy. He goes to the hospital to check on her and then is given the job of inviting her to an awards banquet and meeting her outside of "the rescue".

They keep meeting by chance and finally something let happen between them. Kate has sworn off of "heroes" after having her heartbroken by a firefighter in the past, however there is something about Matt that keeps her interested. We get a small glimpse into Kate's past and soon learn that dear Matt may be hiding something himself. While the title lets us in on a little bit of it, as you read you see we aren't getting the entire story from either of them just yet.

After a few hot and heavy scenes, the wrench is thrown into this new relationship and we are left clamoring for the second book. HERO is a well-written, quick and sexy read. I will be waiting patiently for the next one.

I was infatuated with the idea that I’d meet and fall in love with a hero. An alpha male in a job where he wore a uniform. He would save the day, steal my heart, own my soul and make my life whole. There was just something about a hero archetype that mesmerized me. Their rugged bodies; that proud, cocky walk many of them had; their brute strength, protective nature, commanding presence, and independence like nothing else. I had to have me one of them. For life. And I guess I was keeping myself romantically pure, if nothing else, until I found him.

Delusional much? The way the main person describes her ideal man just made me cringe. Don't get me wrong, I love alpha men, but her interpretation is way too much. Sounds more like she wants to be babied than that she wants a partner who treats her like an equal. And if it's something I can't stand...
I also found it very weird, if not creepy for a firefighter to follow or almost stalk someone who he saves from a fire. If it's the other way around, to personally thank the one who has saved you, that I would understand. But this?? Yeah, not so much.
It gets even worse when he kinda dictates her life and she doesn't at least stand up for herself. She just accept everything for a given, while her best friends had to fight for her to at least accept some kindness. Why would you accept everything from a total stranger and not your BFF????????
Needless to say I won't continue this series.

If I had to hear how he is "so attractive" one more f'ing time. Geezus, I got it after the 20th time... He's f'ing attractive. He's rich, attractive, and a fireman; otherwise, don't expect a lot of character development:/

I'd like to know who the hell says "congratulations" and throws a "congratulations" party for someone that did a heroic thing and got injured?!? Huh? Nah, they'd get a 'welcome back,' a 'great job,' maybe a 'thank you'... But, "congratulations"?!? Really?!? Congrats you climbed into a burning building and saved a kid and then passed out with smoke inhalation. Ehhh.

Bitch rants non-stop about how her parents tried to control, buy her with money and how she ran away from that lifestyle & behavior. Yet, when a guy she's known 24 hours or so buys her an entire new wardrobe, she doesn't blink at accepting it. When his "girlfriend" appears and she runs off to a hotel, that he owns btw, and he pays for the room for a month and sends all the wardrobe over, what does she do? Well, of course, she says he'd just track her down and pay wherever she went so she might as well just stay and let the rich fireman dude pay for it. Hello, wtf happened to not wanting to be bought?

Nope, this stupid shit ain't for me! I like chicks with a brain and guys that can use more than a wallet.

Some of the other reviews said they didn't like the cliff hanger ending, but it added conflict into what was turning into rather a 'fairy tale' sickly sweet type story. A 'chiselled faced, rock hard pecs, rippling abs' hero (with a massive **** and enjoys a good 'ravishing') who is also a firefighter billionaire, and is kind to small children and probably little fluffy kitties too.
Maybe I'm a little cynical, but without an ending which shows he actually is too good to be true, I wouldn't be reading the next one. But I will be.
I have no problem with this one ending on a cliffhanger, it's a free read and its purpose is to tempt the reader into actually purchasing something. We all have to make a living.

** Novella - Under 100 pages **

This serial takes place in New York, less than a month before Christmas. Kate is a radio DJ with a specialty in Communications and Social Media Strategy. She's dreamed of having a Hero of her own for years, but the one she found in college used and abused her. When Kate rescues a young neighbor boy from a house fire, she's suddenly a viral sensation and local hero, although her efforts warranted a hero to help her in return. With her home now burned to nothing, the homeless heroine somehow finds herself staying with her personal hero - in his home and in his arms.
All goes fine for a few days until a visitor shows up at Matt's house and drops a bombshell of a cliffhanger... to be continued in HERO FOR ME.
There were several minor errors noted (an extra, missing, or misplaced word) throughout the book, however it's not so bad that it completely ruins the overall vibe and flow - but I'd consider having a sit-down with the proofreader if I were Ms Love-Wins.
The characters, primary and secondary, are very likable. They have good dialogue and interaction. The flow of the book is decent, when not taking into account the minor errors (only 4 or 5). The plot was good for being such a short story, but did not have a lot of conflicting elements in it yet - it was more character development and plot set-up. Predictability was extremely low. This novella does not conclude but leaves it open for the next episode.

This is the second book I have read from author Bella Love-Wins. This is also the first book in this series of serials. So these reviews of mine for these first four books are probably be shorter than usual. In this book we get to know Kate and Matt.
Kate is a day dreaming radio host who is supposedly running away from her past. And who just happens to stumble upon her house that is burning down and just happens to save the boy next door. I'm not sure after reading this first installment if I like Kate or not. Not only is she a day dreamer, she tends to talk to herself a lot in her head.

We get to know Matt a little bit in this story. I liked him a little bit more than Kate. He's a firefighter, a business man, demanding, and sexy all rolled into one.

I'd give HERO a 3 out of 5 stars. This was a good start to this series and thought the author had a good plot for the story. I do have to say this first part was about kinda getting to know the characters some. Also there's a lot of details in this part. Also there's some really steamy scenes.

Also be Warned as there's a warning at the beginning of this there is a Huge cliffhanger. So be ready to start the second installment right away!!!

Hot and Fire

This was a great short story that covered all of the emotional spectrum. Kate is from a wealthy family that she is estranged from. She is working as a DJ for a local radio station. She is questioning her choice in men, will she ever find her hero. Her life changes when her home is destroyed by fire and she saves the life of a young boy. She meets the man she just might be able to fall for. But then the unexpected happens. I received this ARC copy with the promise of a honest review. This story contain mystery, intrigue, sadness, heartache, danger and great sex. A must read.

Cliffhanger serial book.
I hate these!! I actually loved the story and was super intrigued with it but I can't rate this higher because of it being a serial book where it just ends and you have to buy the next several to find out what happens. They should just be one book instead of 4 or 5 or whatever. It's to costly to buy "chapters" every time at $2.99 just to finish a story.

From the beginning of the book I was laughing at the drama that is Kate's life. This is a light hearted fun read right up until Kate looses her home. Kate is a DJ and news announcer with fantasies of a hero to sweep her off her feet. She was let down in a previous relationship and therefore has trust issues. Leaving work one evening she arrives in time to see her home on fire. It's a condo complex and everyone is left homeless.

The fire traps a little boy, her neighbor who she immediately rescues as she remembers there is a ladder on the side of the building. The fire department arrives to put out the flame but not before Lieutenant Matt Lewis starts a fire of his own in Kate. After he catches her when she faints from smoke inhalation and seeing her to an ambulance he randomly appears several times later on, as the Mayor and the fire department chief wanted to give her a commendation.

The heated attraction between them soon has them in each others arms creating flames not even the fire department could put out. This was a fun, entertaining sweet romance with some intense sex scenes, right up until a female from Matt's past shows up to his apartment right after the most amazing sex claiming to be his girlfriend. I loved the story and the characters of which there are several and can't wait to find out how Matt explains this new development.

This reads like the authors own fantasy rather than a well crafted story. Girl with a hero fetish meets a fireman who is also a billionaire. Her house burns down so he takes her in and buys her a wardrobe full of designer clothes. To be honest, I found him so responsive to her needs that he was a little bit creepy at times.
First of four books in the series.

A delightful delicious read!

Kate is a really wonderful character: strong, independent and making it on her own. She’s had some bad experiences with men but has the highest of hopes: she wants a hero. She daydreams about finding him, fantasizes about finding him, gets aroused and excited just thinking about him … will she ever succeed in finding him? Kate is then presented with an emergency situation and without hesitating, she rushes to save a little boy without any concern for her own safety and … you guessed it: Kate ends up being declared a hero.

The continuing story, though short, is really fun since fate has possibly intervened to make all her wishes come true (and satiate some of those racy desires of hers as well). Ahh, but it’s so entertaining to follow along, waiting to see what might evolve, then watching as things happen, hoping for the best and worried (of course !!) for the worst. Those fates can be fickle! The author really enjoys writing a great story and that comes shining through with all the details, the secondary characters, the intimate thoughts of Kate herself, and then … all too quickly … the story reaches that point where the author has stopped this first book in her serial. I definitely want to enjoy reading more and more about Kate to learn where her quest for a hero will take her and experience more of those hot, sexy, satisfyingly delicious escapades along the way, regardless of where she ends up. I just know it’ll be so much fun getting there!

Oh My Gosh. I need to read Book 2! Why did it has to end like that? Cliffhanger ending aside, I liked the whole hero-search/hero-worship plot.

When Kate rescued a boy from a burning house, she didn't think she'd be called a hero for her efforts. At the hospital, when she was getting treated after the fire, she met firefighter Lieutenant Matt Lewis and soon, her world was never the same again. Kate Samuel wants nothing more than a normal uncontrolled life. She moves out of her billionaire parent's roof to be on her own and to prove her worth. She's seen a lot of guys but each and everyone of them just hurt her and breaks her heart. She tried so hard to suppress her feelings for Matt, but in the end, she fell for him, her knight in shining armor - or should I say - her hero in a red firefighter uniform. Everything about Matt was admirable she thought she'd never see any flaws in him. Until that day when she saw him with another woman, his Joy.

Ouch, ouch, ouch... that really burned! The story was quick-paced, fiery, saucy and has a deeper plot. I can see that there's more to Matt than meets the eye, so I'm hoping to see more about him in the next book. The ending really caught me off-guard. Kudos to Bella Love-Wins for winning my vote and piquing my curiosity!

After Kate rescues a boy from a fire in her condo building, she is front and center with the media wanting an interview. She's trying to recover from smoke inhalation, adjusting to losing everything she owned, being homeless and is expected to be at an award ceremony for her heroism.

Not getting enough rest, her body is weak and seems to faint every time Matt is around.

Matt is a firefighter that was at the fire she recued the little boy. Matt has checked on her at the hospital, even stayed there with her.

During the ceremony Kate learns who the two fatalities were from the fire and faints. Matt is in her room at the hospital when she wakes.

Kate and Matt are drawn to each other. She feels safe when she is with Matt. Matt is very caring and nurturing towards her. Kate and Matt enjoy each others company, spending time with each other, laughing, eating and finally the pull brings them together. They are passionate with one another, funny and loving. These two characters were made for each other. This story has humor, sadness, loneliness, love and secrets. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I was enjoying this book so much and was left in such an estate of wonder was desperate to keep on reading. I had this book in my kindle for a while and last I expected was to end up having to get 3 more books. The story is original and quite fast paced but I don't know if I have the time to read the next parts, sometimes with stories like this I would prefer authors just to finish the story and make it a standalone. I guess it will have to come down to how desperate I am to keep on reading.
As Kate looses her home and possessions in a fire, she is thrown into the limelight and into the arms of Lieutenant Matt Lewis who seems to be Hero personified. Rescuing someone from a blazing fire makes Kate a celebrity and her life is completely transformed by one nights events. She seems to think at least something good has come out of the devastating experience and loss when she falls hard and fast into the arms of Matt. But in true suspenseful way all comes crashing down one fateful morning as she comes face to face with Matt's girlfriend and her ex-coworker Joy, a name which its actually the opposite of what she is feeling.

Wow what an addictive series to read! Kate ran away from her high society parents to live a life of her own! Where she can be herself and not be controlled by her parents! She had saved up money before she ran away when she turned 18 and that's what helped put her through college! Along with the job she got to help with bills and whatever else she needed! She got a job in the industry that she wanted, which was radio! She likes her life just the way it is! One night walking home her building is on fire and she rescued a little boy! And found her hero! Or did she! Great read that makes you want so much more!

I don't have a whole heap to say about this book as I did not finish it. I wasn't very many chapters in when I realised that the MC's obsession with men in uniform left me absolutely cold and I wasn't going to enjoy all of her self-talk, so I cut my losses and moved on. For those of you wondering why I even began the book in the first place, I have to mention that it was the first book in a three-book anthology entitled 'Billionaire Hearts' and I just kind of plow through those things, knowing that I might like some of the stories and not like others. This one I didn't like because it didn't suit my personal tastes.

I was enjoying the story of the female DJ rescuing this child during a fire, and about the fire-fighter that took care of her as a result. That is, until we got to the intimate scenes that used graphic and raw language during love-making. That turned me off, sorry. I didn't like the way it was written. I like a little something left to the imagination.

This was book #1 in the series, which leaves you hanging, but I will not continue with the series.
