The Wounded Warrior’s Wife by Hannah Conway – A Book Review
It was an honor and a privilege to beta read this book for Hannah. I only wish I’d read it while I was still working with soldiers’ families as her story gave me added insight into what these families must deal with. Anyone in any type of working or personal relationship with military families would be blessed by reading The Wounded Warrior’s Wife. They are not the only readers who would find a blessing here. Those who enjoy a good, cle

What a beautiful story! The author shares with us a young couple’s struggles as they adjust to military life while being newlyweds who must make difficult adjustments as they navigate what it means to be married and life partners while being worlds apart.

They love each other deeply and with determination want to figure out how to be married though “single” in what they face. How can Collier share the challenges he faces with his sweet wife? How can Whitleigh, who must learn to do everything for

The Wounded Warrior `s Wife, written by Hannah Conway

On my gosh! Hannah Conway has hit a home run with this book. It has everything you could want in a book. She had me in the first two pages. That was a plus because sometimes it takes me a couple of chapters to get into a book. However, Whitleigh and Collier`s story immediately drew me in. I laughed and I cried. There were times I just couldn't stop reading because of the anticipation and suspense of what would happen next.

Just finished reading Wedding A Warrior and The Wounded Warrior's Wife. A very great read. 5 star. You feel like you are a part of the army group. The emotions that each character goes through is so realistic that you feel their pain. The plot leads you to look over your shoulder at all times. Full of faith, love, and mystery. Army life is different, and it is never what anyone expects. Deported soldiers come back a different person. The sacrifice soldiers make for our country is also a sacrific ...more

I love hearing about Military Spouses that write fiction. As a big reader, it is great to be able to read a fictionalized version about something I have experienced.

The Wounded Warrior's Wife is the story of Whit and Collier, an Army couple. They have to deal with a lot. From Korea to a deployment to the effects of that deployment. As an Army wife myself, I could relate to some of this book because I had gone through the same type of thing. I related to some of Whit's feelings of not being sure

I loved this book. It's a story that could be taken right out of today's headlines. The author paints a very vivid picture of our military heroes on the battlefield that leaves the reader feeling that they are an observer to what is going on. This is also a beautiful story of love and its up and downs and the issues facing those families that are in the military. It is also a heart touching testament to God's healing power in lives and relationships. I was furnished a copy of this book in return ...more

A moving story that is sure to evoke many emotions. As a military officer's wife I can relate to the military lifestyle. Hannah Conway has shown such bravery in writing a novel based on the difficulties of the military world. Her voice is strong and the characters resemble real life. We all are cheering for Collier and Whitleigh and Linc! This is the kind of book that will help many military wives realize that they aren't alone in their struggles and hopefully help the, create the community they ...more

WOW! From the moment I read the preface, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book! The way the story was put together and carried you from page to page wanting more was nothing short of amazing. You felt right along with the characters-a definite roller coaster for the heartstrings. The realties of living and loving meshed in with PTSD-great story from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this as a must read!!!

I'm so thankful I was chosen to read this in PDF for Hannah. This is a wonderful book that was so hard to put down, you are so drawn in by the characters that you have to find out what happens next. Beautifully written with believable characters. My honest opinion is I would give it more stars if available.

Whitleigh and Collier Cromwell’s romance began in their tender teenage years in rural Kentucky. Both dreamed of a happily ever after that included prosperous careers and a loving family filled with children. Collier’s choice to join the Army, however, forever changed the outlook of their futures. With terrors and changes on the home-front in Colorado and a second unexpected deployment to the Middle East, both Whitleigh and Collier struggle to adjust to the Army’s demanding lifestyle during their ...more

Although the plot was pretty predictable, this novel was mildly entertaining. What I did appreciate about it was the spiritual input. This author gave Christ His proper place in the lives of the two main characters. A sweet story.

Trust and Faith Required

Thank you for this heartwarming and heartwrenching story about Whitleigh and Collier. None of us knows what life has in store for us, so we have to trust that God is in control and that His plan is for our benefit.

I really enjoyed this book. Both my husband and I were military members and while we had left the Army before the tours to Iraq started, I watched the news and saw how often my husband's unit especially had to return. I know what this can do to a marriage. Being deployed is hard on both wife and husband and this book was very true to life. I could put myself in both Whitleigh's and Collier's shoes. And this book shows what happens in any marriage when a struggle is going on. Marriage is difficul ...more

Before I started, my first thoughts were it appeared to be a story with drama nd a bit of romance mixed in as well. (I was not wrong to think this). First looking throught the summary, I couldn't help but wonder at what was in store.
The book had a very realistic feel to it and I personally could imagine this happening to families in real life. I liked how the story itself was good, and I liked the pacing of the story. Although the PTSD wasn't too much of a shock considering the summary.

Although this story is fictional, Hannah Conway has done a wonderful job in giving us an insight into some of the problems, struggles and heartaches our service men and women and their families face each day. What they have to overcome when they come home after serving their country, not only in the time period of this book but what is still happening today. Being an army wife herself she has written an amazing story.

This is a story about Collier and Whitleigh, a young couple married and excited about the future. Collier is a strong fiercely determined man. Whitleigh is a sweet woman who is proud of her husband serving in the Army. When they discover that their unborn son has serious health issues, their world starts to take a turn into the unknown.

The author does an incredible job of describing Collier's time overseas fighting for his country. The fighting, bombings and loss of life take a toll on him. He h

This is one wonderful story for any who want to see the realities of contemporary life of military families. The soldiers are torn between service to family and duty to country (and their fellow soldiers with whom they share assignments). The wives must develop strong independence as they are left to raise families alone while their husbands are deployed.

Wedding a Warrior by Hannah Conway is a short and sweet read about a group of college friends/room mates, their relationships but mostly about a young couple, Whitleigh Haynes and Collier Cromwell, in love and wanting to put Him first in all things.

Although, not quite the life they had planned, (following 9 1 1 Collier decides to join the Army which would make Whitleigh an Army wife when they wed, not 'if') things seem to be workable until at the last moment both Collier and Whitleigh are faced

"The Wounded Warrior's Wife" by Hannah Conway, is an easy reading, military novel. While it is fiction, there is a lot of reality involved in this book. I don't really think much about how couples are affected when they are separated for long periods of time due to deployment so this was a good reminder for me.
Whitleigh, fairly newly married, hasn't really had much chance to live with her new husband. But she is slowly adjusting to military life...by herself...as her husband Collier is out of

“Wedding a Warrior” is a novella by Hannah Conway. The story is a sweet, light, easy to read romance. It is about a group of college friends and their relationships and decisions. Sometimes, just when a person thinks they have their whole life planned out, they get thrown a curve ball.
This is what Whitleigh experiences when her boyfriend, Collier, decides to join the Army. Not quite the “news” she was expecting to hear from him. So, does she follow her heart or does she follow her calendar? S

Recommends it for: military wives
Don't miss this one if you're a military wife since it focuses on the wife and not the solider, but yet illustrates a beautifully told told of the struggles a soldiers wife must endure. Whitleigh goes from young girl bride to woman within the pages as she endures the ups and downs and struggles of life without her husband and wondering if he will return alive and well. She also has to bear pain and heartache later because a war is never over once you've fought one. Collier loves her, but he also ...more

I liked this book very much. It touched on so many topics. It was great seeing how much these characters have changed from the first book. It showcased the harsh reality of military life.
Collier Cromwell and Whitleigh Cromwell both needed to learn how to adjust to the many changes in their lives. Collier needed to communicate as much as he could what was happening to him. I understand that he was trying to protect Whitleigh but she needed him to be honest. You cannot fight an enemy that you are

I read this book in one sitting because I was so caught up in the story line and what would happen to Whit and Collier and the other characters.

I have no idea what it's like to be an army wife and for my husband to be in harms way every day for weeks and months at a time, but I felt very sympathetic and sad for Whitt as she struggled with her life purpose and longing for him. By reading Whit's emotions and experiences, I felt like I was there and experiencing things with her.

This book is a wonderfully written story of two people who are going through all the struggles that husbands and wives who are in the military service go through.
