I have always fancied vampire-themed books, especially when they're blended with deep, dark romance. It's a genre that I've always been a sucker for. This book, to be honest, met my expectations. I absolutely loved it!

This book was enjoyable to read, but there was something that I can't quite put my finger on that just didn't click for me. The writing was good and the characters were likable enough, yet I can't really put into words what felt so strange to me.

I had a like/hate relationship with Thane. I liked him because he treated everyone well and as long as their (the prisoners) requests didn't impact his mission he did his best to give them what they wanted. I hated him when he w

The cliff hanger!!

This book was so great! I love the characters and story line. The way it ended was so heartbreaking but I have to believe it doesn’t end like that. I need to read the next book!

After reading excerpts and participating in the book blitz for this book, I was really intrigued. When the author contacted the blog requesting a review I jumped at the chance. And although I'm disappointed I didn't love it, I still enjoyed the book and managed to finish it in one sitting.
The story is full of mystery and suspense. At times I wasn't sure what was gonna happen next. The book held my attention and made me not want to put it down. Daniels has created

Suzannah Daniels books are what I call ‘fluff’ reads. They are short, whimsical stories that I enjoy between heavier reading. I feel like in the world of fantasy & paranormal the author may have bit off more than she could chew. There were slower points in the books that were used only to propel movement forward, followed by an inane amount of info dumping and action. Though I wouldn’t expect more from a shorter story, I feel as if a better balance of the two would have made this story more plau ...more

Quick, easy, entertaining read. There is some insta-love that maybe could have been developed a little more. There is enough mystery in it that I got the second book to see what happens. All in all, a good paranormal YA read for a rainy afternoon. I don’t think it will be one that sticks with me though, but I don’t regret the time spent on it. Maybe book 2 will change my mind.

I haven't read a vampire book this good in ages! I couldn't put it down! There were so many twists and surprises that had me reeling in confusion and shock. I am looking forward to the next book!

I haven't read a vampire book in what feels like forever, but when I read the synopsis and saw the cover for this book, I knew I definitely wanted to read it! It sounded amazing and the cover is stunning! The author then offered me an ARC and I jumped at the chance to read it! I loved this book! It was brilliant and the plot had a unique twist on it with the vampire aspect! This book also had so many different themes and genres running through it, which added a lot to it and it added a lot to my ...more

I have been a fan of author Suzannah Daniels for awhile now, and each book she writes takes me by surprise! This is a new series and a bit of a different genre for her, but she totally rocked it!! This book was amazing - it was fun, different and exciting. She was able to take her writing to a whole new level with the start of this series! I need book 2 NOW!!

She does an amazing job with her characters. From the very start you wa

I was extremely impressed with this book. The characters were well written and the pace was good to keep you interested and not wanting to let you put the book down. I have been a fan of vampires long before Vampires were cool so I love this genre and how it has taken off. I love a strong Alpha character but not one borderline abusive in actions and Thane was extremely well written. Strong character and ethics. I love when a character's sense of humor is shown and it draws

The first thing that drew me into this book was the cover. It is absolutely stunning. Also I have read some of Suzannah Daniels' previous books and really loved her writing style.

Vampire's Bane features Maylin. A girl that was dropped of to start "The Program" when she was no more than a young girl. Her parents believed that this was the best way to protect her. Little did they know what was actually taking place at the facility where they left their only child.

There are so many vampire books on the market; so, if you are going to be successful your characters and plot has to offer something unique and finely tuned. Unfortunately, while "Vampire's Bane" has a somewhat unique plot is wasn't strong nor were the characters compelling.

At fifteen, Maylin was taken to a facility where she was captive for two years under the guise she was being kept safe. The world as she formerly known it was gone; wiped out by a plague. Now at age seventeen, Mayl

The story is very interesting and it has a bit of mystery. We still don't know a few things that will be revealed on the next installment I'm sure but the story does not end in a bad

Everything I hope for in a YA read and more. I was completely surprised by several twists that showed up in this story and loved it! Normally I am not a fan of the cliffhangers in a series...I just am not the most patient of readers (people), but the cliffhanger in this book was amazing..I hit the last page and was like wait! I mean you can't leave us not knowing the outcome..I have so many questions. I knew I was enjoying the story, but when my mouth dropped open I knew that I was hook ...more

I loved this book. It was a completely different experience for me in a different world. I got sucked into this world and became wrapped up in its creatures and the fight for survival by the characters.

You have a group of young people (some of the only survivors from a disease that has swept through the world) sent on a mission to meet other survivors of the mysterious Program, with only each other and their skills to count on. Maylin is thrust into the role of group leader and the difficult dec

She had me at vampire!
This story was not what I expected! Emotion pours out in the suspense, action, & betrayal. It begins with an emotional scene of a daughter being left at an unknown facility by her parents for unknown reasons, and we quickly learn she's not the only one. After finishing the book The Program is still a mystery for the most part. I'm curious what they're really about. Soon we figure out that the world has changed drastically in the 2 years they've been isolated due to a deadly

I was given a copy of this book by author in exchange for an honest review.

There are several reasons why I like to wait until a series is complete to start reading it, the biggest one being cliffhangers. They suck! I'm just to impatient to wait for the next book especially when the story grabs me and I don't want to let it go. Vampier's Bane was amazing but now I have to wait for book #2.....thanks alot Suzannah.

Ok joking aside I love everything Mrs. Daniels writes and I love that she puts out

I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.

I thought that this book would just be your 'normal' dystopian book but I was wrong. There are so many questions raised in this, before they even meet the vampires, that it hooks you in from the start. What is The Program? Why are some chosen and some not? What makes them trained for one area and not another? What caused the plague? What is their mission? Are there any others? These are just some of the questions that yo

Where to start... This one is action packed and full of mystery... As Maylin and her group are set free from the Program they start their mission not knowing the trials ahead. Having been kept isolated for the past couple years they find the world as they knew it is no more. Something is lurking in the shadows- will they be able to make it to St. Louis to start the next leg of their journey, or will Fate stand in their way? I could NOT put it down. Wow, I enjoyed this book more then I thought that I would. it doesn't help that I didn't read the description to what the book was about so I pretty much when in blindly. I'm so glad it turned out to be a great story and not a dud because I tend to find more duds when I go in without reading more about it. I found the story line was interesting and unique. Life isn't what it has been. Change forces us to be versions of ourselves that we've never met before. Maybe we like these new versions of us and, maybe, we struggle to accept them.

There are things in life that we have thought to be myth...well, in this strange, scary new world, myth is a reality.

I enjoyed reading about Maylin and her comrades. As the leader of their group, Maylin was forced to make some tough decisions. Lots of unanswered questions, lots of new things that they have yet to expe

Maylin was taken by her parents to a underground confinement for 2 years. The one communication she has was with a boy her age that she called Creed. On the night they were freed they get captured. Maylin does everything she can to escape. A very good suspense story that keeps you on your toes. A great story.
Vampire's with a twist

So many vampire books out there. Each one has their own twist. Vampire's Bane has just that. Twists and turns on every page. A little bit of romance too. Makes you want to wish you had the second book so you can find out what happens next.
