Love Stage has potential, but then things get creepy half the time. The other characters are taking advantage of Izumi and it bothers me. He's so innocent and adorable, and I love him, but he's surrounded by manipulative men who "take care" of him in problematic ways.
I find it extremely hard to rate this manga (as a whole), because some topics are done well and some of the usual tropes that anger me quite a bit are wonderfully left out or explored in better, more realistic ways. (remarkable self-control for a BL character in a love scene for example), while others remain for comedic effect (snapping pics of Izumi while he sleeps just because he’s too cute. YIKES!).

The attempted gang rape in this volume is absolutely HORRIBLE! Izumi is being turned into a „da

Ryoma and Izumi are so darn cute together. This is becoming one of my favorite BL mangas.
There are ways that this story is, eh, a little old-fashioned. Do we really need Izumi to be (view spoiler) for him to realize he's in love with Ryoma? The love scene in the latter part of this volume was really sweet. Although I'm not a huge fan of the weepy-drooly facial expressions that manga artists use to show that the person on the bottom is actually enjoying themselves.

Random thought: we haven't seen Ryoma actually singing in these first th

I really want to love this series. And I find it cute. The last couple volumes were really fun, and this one was as well.

I like how Ryoma just goes for it, he is unashamed of his love for Izumi. Even if he’s a little pushy at times, I mostly just enjoy it. And in this volume, Izumi realizes his own feelings for Ryoma. That leads to some sexy times, as well as some really cute moments. I love how Izumi just threw himself at Ryoma, and Ryoma tried to be respectful when
And that's a wrap, folks! With the end of chapter 15/this volume, that concludes the anime's adaption of the story. Everything to come, all following 4 volumes, are all uncharted waters! I'm so excited, yet so afraid. It makes sense that the anime would stop here, as this feels like a "good ending", but honestly, it's the start of so much more! I'm so happy that they didn't drag on and on with the romancing part, I wanted to see them get together so bad! Now we get to see them as a couple for mo ...more

How nice! Our protagonists decide to act like grown-ups, making mature decisions and having some consideration for one another. I would have liked Ryomi to have a tad more self-control, but his failures are realistic and common ones.

I especially liked that both characters took time to think about their feelings on their own and come to a decision that they wanted to be together, rather than one pressuring or assaulting the other, which seems more common in romance.
It's not ground-breaking but it certainly is cute! And while the main relationship looks to be moving fast, it's surprisingly earnest and affirming. There's very little macho posturing -- the love interest is straightforward about his desires and insecurities and the protagonist gives a good amount of thought into his decision to pursue a relationship.

At this point in the story, I begin to notice a lot more changes from the show. Just small things, but we're getting there! I love the extra stories at the end, too. Such a good series! Impatiently waiting to get the next books.
Probably more like a 3.5 for this one.

Oh my god. I can’t with these two. I might have to bow outta this series again. I’ll see after if I still feel this way after the next volume.

Ok, fine, you can have 3 stars.
Despite the things I dislike I do really like a lot of the character growth that I'm seeing.

Eiki Eiki has a serious problem with rape toned scenes within this manga. It makes me cringe away. (view spoiler)

This is getting more and more fast paced, and the characters are losing the development they had and are actually getting worse as the series goes on.

I'm giving this series one more volume, and if it gets worse, in my opinion, I'm giving up on the rest of it. It's a shame, r

Seriously izumi so cool
4.5 stars
The manga start with Izumi in total denial over his feeling for Ryoma. It also the bid day of the press conference and his career debut. Everybody found Izumi super cute and Ryoma is seriously jealous, he is also exhausted from work and end-up at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Izumi is on a shopping spree of Ryoma’s fan merchandise & BL manga. Rei confront him about this and it is hilarious. Poor Izumi is so clueless and keep asking Rei questions and advises about sex.

On his way to the manga c
Ch. 11-17. To get more life experience, Izumi decides to make his show biz debut starting with a press conference that reveals his gender. One minute he's in a dress then he's not. Had to suspend belief there but whatever this is a manga. Ryouma wants to know how Izumi really feels. Izumi actually behaves realistically and very mature, he won't see Ryouma until he has made a decision. And he makes a decision pretty quickly to be with Ryouma. I liked Izumi in this volume. A misunderstanding ruins ...more

Another series I'm not finishing. I have some (MAJOR!!) issues with Ryouma's character. I just think he is very pushy and has no concept of personal space, boundaries or consent. I have stopped watching a couple of anime series in the past for this exact same reason ( I honestly don't even remember their names, it was so long ago and I only watched like 2 episodes or something) And I really thought that this time it might be different, maybe they will address it properly and not just ignore it a ...more

I adore this series! I want more for sure. It has a great deal of hot yaoi and character personalities that are fully developed. It is also surprisingly very very funny. I can't wait to watch the anime. Love it and will definitely continue reading once the next volume comes out.
