Rafe Montclair is the ruthless billionaire about to destroy my company. The only way to stop it? Become his wife and pretend to love the man I hate.
He’s tall, charming, and speaks three languages. But where I value craftsmanship, he shuts down century-old workshops for profit. I can’t let him do the same to my fashion house.
So I’ll wear his giant ring and spend the summer in his Lake Como villa, but I plan to drive him insane. I drink too much champagne, swim in his fountain, and steal shirts from his closet.
The problem? Rafe never backs down. He ups the stakes instead. Soon, we’re sharing a bed for appearances and kissing in public.
I tease him in tiny outfits just to see him crack. Until he does… and I learn the only thing more dangerous than Rafe Montclair in control is when he goes after what he wants.
He holds me when I have panic attacks and fights my battles like they’re his own. And when he wakes up from nightmares, he won’t explain… I realize he’s waging a war of his own.
Rafe bet he could control this marriage. But I’m the one thing he never planned on wanting this badly.
Hi there! I'm Olivia. I write romance with billionaire heroes (despite never having met one in person). They're strong, ambitious, they don't need love... until they meet the women who change their minds.
I love witty banter, smart heroines, big cities and perfectly tailored suits. You'll find all four in every one of my books! 💜
READING ORDER You can read any of the books as standalones, because each book follows a new couple. But if you ask me? This is my personal preference...
The Connovan Chronicles - Best Enemies Forever - The Perfect Mistake - One Wrong Move
New York Billionaires - Think Outside the Boss - Saved by the Boss - Say Yes to the Boss - A Ticking Time Boss - Suite on the Boss - 12 Days of Bossmas
Seattle Billionaires - Billion Dollar Enemy - Billion Dollar Beast - Billion Dollar Catch - Billion Dollar Fiancé
Brothers of Paradise - Dark Eyed Devil - Ice Cold Boss - Red Hot Rebel - Small Town Hero
Standalones - Arrogant Boss - Look But Don't Touch - The Billionaire Scrooge Next Door - How to Honeymoon Alone
This was actually so much better than I was expecting it to be!! I requested it because I love a marriage of convenience and I'm so happy I did!! I really enjoyed their story and the setting was absolutely beautiful.
Paige and Rafe got married so he can have his revenge and she can finally make the much needed changes in her family's company, company her uncle is destroying.. It's fake, but they need to pretend because her grandfather's will says she needs to marry the love of her life to gain access to the 10% she needs in the company.. Summer in Italy, pretending to be in love, planning a second wedding, travelling to Monaco and Switzerland, arguing and playing games has them becoming closer and closer.. Is it really all pretend?
I love Rafe, my heart broke for him, his struggles, the grief that never went away and how he copped with it. He was so protective and he never backed down from a challenge, I loved how competitive he was. Seeing him become more open and vulnerable was everything, he deserves all the happiness. Paige was strong and stubborn and such a menace, I adored her so much. I loved seeing her annoy Rafe and how competitive she was. She struggled with grief too, and the anxiety that came with it.. I'm so happy she found a family with Rafe.
They started as rivals and seeing them fight and bicker was the highlight of the book. I loved their games and bets, them keeping score, the tennis matches, how she always kept him on his toes.. She was so unpredictable and he needed that. I loved how he was there for her during her panic attacks, how she was there for him during his nightmares and how they took care of each other.. They fell in love slowly and it really was a joy to read about it, the tension and the banter. Their progression was amazing, all the public appearences, the way they challenged each other, the kisses and the vulnerability, it was perfect. And I'm so happy there was no third act break-up, everything was handled so well.
Also, I absolutely loved Rafe and his friends and the group chat, I'm so excited to read everyone's story. And Nora and Amber were such great characters and I'm so happy they accepted Paige so easily. I'm definitely going back and reading Nora's and West's love story. And Sylvie, I adored her, she was an icon. Her and her wife were definitely my favourite secondary characters, they made things so much more interesting for Rafe and Paige.
This was such a suprise, I didn't think I would enjoy it this much. The setting was the best part, Lake Como is the favourite place I've ever visited, so this being set there was an absolute win!! I can't wait to read James's story next.

✨ Marriage of convenience ✨ Enemies to lovers ✨ Banter as foreplay ✨ Billionaire hero ✨ Secret underground fighter ✨ Set in Italy ✨ Hateplaying tennis ✨ Helping with panic attacks ✨ Protective MMC
Paige, risking everything to save her family legacy, and Rafe, cynically chasing his own goals, find themselves in a marriage of convenience, and it changes their lives completely 🤌🏻
The chemistry between them is undeniable. You read every paragraph and get literal goosebumps. Watching them slowly become a team, caring for each other even when it feels like they’re supposed to hate one another… it’s incredible 🦋
And their so-called “hatred” turns out to be nothing more than a way to hide fear – fear of closeness and emotional vulnerability. The differences that once seemed like obstacles actually brought them together. The characters feel alive, emotional, and real. I cried both from the pain they went through and from joy during the happy moments 🫶🏻
Rafe is an extremely driven man, willing to go to extremes to protect his family and succeed in business. But then Paige enters his life. She helps him open up, start confronting his psychological struggles, and find inner peace 🩵
Paige, deeply scarred by the loss of her parents and betrayal by her uncle, finds in Rafe the support, honesty, and tenderness she so desperately needs for emotional balance and stability. Together, they become an incredibly strong couple. Even though they were strong on their own, together they are pure steel: resilience, support, and harmony. “Partners in crime” fits them perfectly 🌹
This is a story about sincere, brave people who learn how to trust and open their hearts. They care for one another, support each other through hard times, and experience both happiness and pain together 💫
The stunning locations deserve a special mention: Lake Como, the Swiss mountains, Monaco… and their little trips create vivid imagery and add a touch of magic to the story ✨
This book leaves you with a lingering feeling of joy, hope, and faith in true love. Beautiful, emotional, and absolutely captivating ❤️🔥
Pre-read September 2025: miss Olivia could present her groceries list in front of me and I can assure you I’d read it from front to back, anywayyy, I smell a marriage of convenience, brb, I’m going to brush up on my French for mr Rafe Montclair!!
Thank you to Netgalley and Olivia Hayle for the gifted eARC!
Genre: Contemporary Romance (Billionaire) ⭐️ 4/5 🌶 2/5 🧠 3/10 Cliffhanger Pain: 1/10 (Setup for book 3)
Noteworthy: Book 2 of an incomplete series of interconnected standalones. Reading book 1 is not required to fully enjoy this one. Dual first-person POV. Triggers include anxiety and grief. The expected publication date is 2/1/2026.
This cover is just beautiful! If you are looking for a medium stakes contemporary romance with a burn that's quick to ignite but slow fully burn then look no further. This is my first book by Olivia Hayle but it won't be the last. The rivals to reluctant allies to lovers is chef's kiss in this one. The games and bater volleyed between this couple make this such a fun read. I loved how Paige pushes Rafe's buttons but never feels desperate for attention. This FMC is so well written which is a rare treat these days. And Rafe, my goodness! Such a strong alpha MMC without needing to control the FMC completely. His love and fierce protective nature is super swoon worthy. The European setting combined with the unique aspects of the luxury branding companies, especially the watches, was really cool.
I also love the friendship group dynamic in this series. I haven't read West's book yet but definitely plan to. You can just tell these men would do anything for each other. Brothers by choice and lord help anyone who stands against one as they will stand against all. Bonus points for the group chats because it's always a highlight for me! I'm really excited for this entire series now!
MEN WRITTEN BY WOMEN. that’s all i can say. i finished this in ONE sitting yall thats how much i was entertained. i know i was smiling n giggling almost the whole time too (how embarrassing for me) anyway, this had so many fun tropes/microtropes: marriage of convenience(MY FAVEEEEE), he takes care of when she’s sick, they hate each other (so of course you know the banter is 10/10 i love it 😩😩) she steals his clothes to wear daily & he loves it, HES RICH & hot!!!!! wants her to spend his money!!!!!! i love when she’s sassy & gives him a run for his money hehe (& he loves it too tbh)
also why it is so hot when they are like “i know what you need” LIKE OK PAPÍ 🤭🤭🤭
in conclusion, im a BIG FAN of this book & everyone needs to read it RN! (aka when it releases in less than a week)
thank you to olivia hayle & her team for an early copy! all opinions are my own 😚
When we talk about Olivia Hailey’s books, we’re talking about stories that simply don’t disappoint. She has a very clear formula: light, engaging romance, wealthy characters, and relationships designed to keep you hooked without overcomplicating things. That’s why she’s an author I always come back to, and one I’m especially fond of, since her books were also the starting point of a reading friendship I still cherish. This is book two for Rafe and Paige’s story, and they fit perfectly into the marriage-of-convenience trope, with wealth on both sides Rafe is undeniably rich, and Paige also comes from a privileged background. The story is set across Europe, including Italy, Sweden, and Monaco, which adds an elegant and appealing backdrop.
Their relationship starts as something clearly convenient and partially fake, and that element works very well in the story because it’s where the tension, the chemistry, and the spice come from. We also get to revisit the friend group, which brings humor and energy, along with strong female characters who feel like potential future protagonists. For me, this was a very steady read; the story kept building and never had a dull moment or anything that pulled me out of it. It’s a romance-heavy book with a lot of banter between the main characters, which makes their dynamic feel natural and genuinely fun to read.
Rafe stood out to me as a character because of that classic contrast: outwardly he’s confident, dominant, and tough, but in private he’s patient, attentive, and protective, even though he carries a darker past and questionable activities that cause Paige to doubt him at times. Paige, on the other hand, is a strong and determined protagonist. After losing so much in her life, when she feels she’s about to lose the last thing she has(her legacy and her name)she makes a clear choice and goes after what she wants. The romance develops as a moderate slow burn, well paced, with spice that’s balanced and exactly where it should be. Overall, I really enjoyed this book from start to finish, and it completely worked for me.
I was so excited to receive this ARC and I’m so happy I ended up enjoying it! Rafe and Paige’s banter was AMAZING and the chemistry was perfect. The writing was great, and I liked that the relationship between the main characters didn’t progress too quickly; it felt natural and believable. The plot was well-crafter and the side characters were really interesting. The book was a bit too long for my liking, but the chapters were short which made it easy to get through. This book deals with themes of anxiety and grief and I think the author portrayed it well. Overall, it was a fun, enjoyable read and I’m really looking forward for James book!!
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I love a marriage of convenience trope and feel like there haven't been many books with it published lately. It gives all the fake dating and close proximity goodness but on a whole other level.
Paige's family company is headed towards bankruptcy under her uncles leadership so she's turned to drastic measures... offering to marry the billionaire who has been buying shares of the company for years so she can have a chance at saving the company. She proposes a marriage of convenience to Rafe with the plan of securing those shares through annoying him so much he divorces her. Except Rafe is stubborn and doesn't back down from Paige's arguments or attempts to get under his skin. To the public they are pretending they are deeply in love while in private they constantly argue.
I absolutely loved the banter between Paige and Rafe. These two are the epitome of arguing as foreplay. They love to annoy each other and that doesn't change from the moment they first meet to when they fall in love. In many ways they stay true to themselves while also experiencing character growth. Something that I have noticed is often included in Olivia Hayle's books, and really appreciate, is characters who are dealing with some sort of mental health struggle and taking the step they need to to help themselves like seeing a therapist. It's nice to see it be acknowledged in the book and a conversation being had between the characters.
I felt like I really got to know Paige and Rafe. They have their reasons for disliking and being hesitant to trust each other. There are moments between them that show the progression from disliking a stranger to falling in love. One of my favorites is a classic him taking care of her when she's sick moment. They both become that safe space person for each other which they've not had in a long time.
Super excited to continue reading this series! I do think they can be read standalone but recommend reading in order for the full experience.
💍 marriage of convenience 😊 strangers to lovers 👥 close proximity 💵 billionaire (him) 😠 dislike to lovers 👏🏼 no third act breakup
I really enjoyed the Marriage Bet. Paige and Rafe had great chemistry and I enjoyed their bickering and drama at the beginning.
The Billionaire Games series is the perfect comfort series for me. Just like book one there is no huge third act breakup or terrible conflict, just a really well done slow burn romance between likeable characters with interesting backstories.
Olivia Hayle writes the emotional connection between the couple so well but also knows how to keep the tension building and keep the reader interested all the way through.
I loved getting to know the friendship group better in this book and I can’t wait for James’ story, the setup sounds so good!
Arc review i’m actually speechless.. so grateful for this copy bc i’m obsessed! paige is such a queen for humbled that man’s ego (her husband lol) 😭 truly one of my fav reads this year. we stan a diva 👏✨
i almost swore not to read rafe’s story—i didn’t like how he treated nora at times and if book 2 is anywhere as long as book 1, i might hate it but miss hayle set up the beginnings of rafe’s story so good, i will be reading!!!!
Rating: ★★★★½ ARC Review: I received an advance copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Standalone or Series: Book 2 in a series of interconnected standalones (The Billionaire Games #2) This book can be read as a standalone, but I HIGHLY recommend reading them in order, as the other characters and a distinct plot point from the previous book play a heavy role in this story.
POV: First Person, Dual Genre: Contemporary Romance Vibe: Flirty, Fun, Adventurous Pacing: Medium Third-Act Breakup: No Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Cliffhanger: No Reread-worthy: Yes!
Tropes: ✵ Marriage of Convenience ✵ Enemies to Lovers ✵ Only One Bed ✵ Forced Proximity
Synopsis: After her uncle almost bankrupts her family’s company, Paige is forced to marry her enemy in order to redeem the majority shares to save the company. But when that enemy is Rafe Montclair, the ruthless billionaire who is known to conquer all types of companies and turn them inside out for his own profit, Paige realizes that sometimes a deal with the devil isn’t all she bargained for. The two quickly find out that the only thing they have in common is their hatred for each other, but as they continue to push each others buttons, they start to forget why they were even fighting to begin with.
My Thoughts: I was so excited for this one, after it was teased at the end of The Faking Game. I love love love a marriage of convenience and Rafe and Paige really had me hooked. They had the perfect enemies to lovers set up, and I love that they were given a proper amount of time to hate each other. The story was not rushed at all, and I was constantly giggling at the heated banter they would get into. Their vulnerability with each other warmed my heart, and I loved seeing them come together to help each other out in those dark times. It was great seeing the old characters play a decent role in this story, as Paige’s uncle was such a huge part of The Faking Game. The little teaser at the end has me SO EXCITED for book 3!!
I received a review copy and these are my thoughts:
I loved this book! I’m not usually a big fan of enemies to lovers but these two?! I’m in love with them! The way they argued was like watching a tennis match or two people sparring with swords. Sharp, quick responses, woven with witty banter. And the tension!! So. Much. Tension! Rafe And Paige we’re inevitable and I loved watching them fall for each other and then realise it, deny it, and eventually go all in (did you see the poker joke? IYKYK).
Their heated and “hateful-driven” arguments, in time, turn into a playful game that keeps their spark alive.
I will not tire of saying this, Olivia has a real knack for writing billionaire romances. Her settings are lush and luxurious; her men are powerful and wear expensive suits and her women are strong, beautiful and determined. But then she gives them relatable flaws so that “all that glitters is not gold”.
Rafe and Paige present themselves in a way that doesn’t match what’s going on on the inside. They see each other at their worst but choose to hold each other and not use their weaknesses as a weapon against one another.
Their spicy moments were hot but also created a space where we see them be vulnerable in an intimate and constructive way, different from the moments where we see them be vulnerable because of their “weaknesses”.
The found family component to the story was heartwarming. His friendship with his friends and the way Paige was embraced and welcomed into the group and by both Rafe’s sister, Nora and West’s sister.
I also enjoyed the little “Euro-tour”. Como, Monaco and Lausanne were great backdrops for these rich people to spend their summer. Made me want to go on a holiday!
I’m very curious to see what’s going to happen in the next book!
Marriage of convenience x enemies to lovers? Yes, please!
It’s a long one but quite fast to read and a book that’s hard to put down! The writing and characterization is good, the characters have complexity to them, there’s some grief and guilt to overcome for each of them, but most importantly it’s simply a beautiful and highly entertaining love story from real enemies to one true love(rs). Rafe and Paige dynamics were just so entertaining! Their way they got on each other’s nerves, with how competitive they both are resulted in the best banter and was simply fun to witness. It was absolutely beautiful and delicious to see the transition of their relationship. You could grasp the love with your hands. The pacing was perfect, a true slowburn. It’s an open door romance but with spice that is earned and just a few explicit scenes. If you’re one of the readers who jump to the spicy scenes first and then go back to read the whole book, don’t do it with this one! Trust me, the spice will be delicious and hit right only if you first truly understand Rafe and Paige’s dynamics.
For the most part I was going to rate it 4.5 but set it as goodreads 4 stars. I’m still conflicted with my rating a bit cause I reserve full 5 stars for books I wanna scream about daily or the ones I plan to reread. While I did have the best time with The Marriage Bet, I don’t see myself rereading it. I am very excited for the next books in the series and I need to bump book 1 up my TBR. I’m giving this one full 5 goodreads stars for now but I might change it back to 4. Why can’t there be half star ratings on this platform?!
Olivia Hayle never disappoints — and this time was no exception. Once again, she delivered a phenomenal book that completely consumes you, the kind you can’t put down until you’ve reached the very last page.
I’m waiting for every story about this chaotic group of friends with so much excitement. Last time, we got West and Nora’s story. This time, it’s Rafe and Paige’s turn.
They each have their own goals and something to gain, which is why they agree to a fake marriage — even though they can’t stand each other. And no one can find out. So they have to pretend. SOUNDS DELICIOUS, DOESN’T IT? I absolutely loved how, with every interaction, they slowly grew closer, yet their arguments and teasing never stopped for a second. The chemistry between Rafe and Paige is insane. I honestly don’t know how they managed to stay away from each other and not rip each other’s clothes off the moment they met… oops lol.
This series also features one of my all-time favorite tropes — found family — and it’s done perfectly here. Even though Rafe, West, Alex, and James constantly tease each other, they’re always there when it matters. They support one another, no questions asked. I love how much they trust each other — enough to share their thoughts and feelings, knowing they’ll be met with support, not judgment. Their circle keeps growing, and new people slowly become part of it, like Paige. Nora and Amber become close friends to her, offering warmth and care.
The next book will be about James!!! I’m so impatiently waiting for it. It looks like we’re getting a single dad and his childhood acquaintance. Wow, Olivia — I have no doubt this one is going to be perfect.
4.5⭐️ this just makes me want to find my own billionaire to go travelling in Europe with 🥵🥰🤭
Thank you Olivia for the arc! This just might be my fave cover of your yet, Chloe really did do a magnificent job! I loved how headstrong Paige and Rafe were with each other. Neither of them wanted to back down, and their dynamic was SO entertaining that it had me laughing nonstop.. but this was probably the slowest slow burn of Olivia Hayle's and I am not even mad.. she built substance and valued plot and chemistry over spicey scenes. Olivia has a real knack for writing billionaire romances. Her settings are lush and beautiful; her men are otherworldly and wear expensive suits and her women are strong, beautiful and determined. But then she gives them relatable flaws so that you just want to grab the characters and want to BE them.
Rafe, my goodness! Such a strong alpha MMC without needing to control the FMC completely. His love and fierce protective nature is super swoon worthy. The European setting combined with the unique aspects of the luxury branding companies, especially the watches, was really cool. I loved how Paige pushes Rafe's buttons but never feels desperate for attention. This FMC is so well written which is a rare treat these days
How James' story is set up is BRILLANT! I JUST KNOW HE WILL BE FAVE!
💜marriage of convenience 🪻set in Lake Como 💜witty banter 🪻both traumatized MCs 💜enemies to reluctant allies 🪻found family 💜"MY WIFE!" 🪻No third act breakup 💜he takes care of her when she is sick!
It tells the story of Paige, who asks Rafe to marry her so that he can keep her company and push her uncle out of the family business.
Paige is wonderful, she’s fun, real and very hardworking. I loved her personality and her vulnerability. She hasn’t had an easy time, and seeing her vulnerable moments made her feel very real, with insecurities and fears. Rafe is everything that’s right, truly, I adore him. He’s super sweet and very loyal. He seems really tough and serious, and only lets Paige see his fears and traumas. I loved the bond that forms between them, brought together by grief and by how they take care of each other. Plus, there’s tons of tension throughout the whole book.
The secondary characters are wonderful, from their closest friends to his employees. I really enjoyed the group chats and the scenes with them together.
It’s a beautiful book with great development. It’s funny and emotional in equal measure, and without a doubt, I enjoyed it so much
Olivia Hayle has done it again! If you know me, Olivia is one of my top authors of all time and for good reason. The Marriage Bet was one of my most anticipated reads of 2026, and it did not let me down one bit <3
Ever since we were first introduced to Rafe (and let's be honest, all of the men in the Belmont crew!) in The Faking Game, I was so excited for his book. The drama with Ben Wilde was such a wild(e) ride, so knowing Rafe would be marrying Ben's niece had me so hyped.
I loved the banter between Rafe and Paige – they really were such a good match for one another! While Nora will always be my number 1 relatable queen, Paige was just so cool and self-assured, while also being so soft and real. I love a good she-doesn't-speak-his-language-so-he-can-shit-talk-her-and-tell-her-he-loves-her-in-secret trope, which we got plenty of in this book, much to Paige's dismay.
I actually really loved the depiction of Paige's anxiety and panic attacks in this one as they're not always this big, loud thing that has a big, loud trigger. Rafe's care for her, despite all their animosity was wonderful. Rafe's personal struggles were also handled so well. I just adored seeing the two of them care for one another! We even got some more comedic (and hot??) hurt (if you can call what happened to Rafe that, LOL) comfort, which was such a great way to break the ice and push the two of them into their relationship.
The setting of this was absolutely lovely and we got so much more found family with the presence of the entire friend group from Book 1, and more! I am so excited to see this continue into Book 3, and hopefully see more of the mysterious Hadrian.
OUT TODAY!!!
Thank you to Olivia Hayle and Netgalley for this ARC! <3
pre-read: waking up to an Olivia Hayle ARC really is the best way to start a day ♥︎ I am so excited for this one! I’ve been counting down the days since I read the last page of The Faking Game IKYKYK
⋆.˚quick summary⋆ Rafe Montclair walks in thinking he’s the villain in a tailored suit—cold, polished, unstoppable. He speaks three languages, shuts down history for profit, and believes power solves everything. Then she enters the chat woman stitched together by passion, legacy, and pure, unfiltered rage. Their marriage? A business transaction. Their love? ABSOLUTELY not on the menu. Or so they think. She wears his ring like a weapon. He raises the stakes like it’s a game he always wins. They share a bed “FOR APPEARANCE,” kiss for cameras, and pretend their hearts aren’t slowly bleeding out between silk sheets and Italian sunsets. Rafe thought he could control the marriage. She thought she could survive it. Neither planned on wanting each other this badly.

Ingredients to cook a mouth watering arranged marriage: – 1 ruthless billionaire with control issues and secrets – 1 furious brilliant FMC who would rather burn the world than lose her fashion house – A fake marriage marinated in spite – Champagne-fueled chaos – Stolen shirts, public kisses, private wars – Emotional damage, lightly glazed
this book was fun I literally devoured it Chef’s kiss. Plate licked clean. I am not okay. I’ll think about this book randomly out of nowhere. Like and ex you’re over but not over haha thank you so much Olivia Hayle for the e-arc of The Marriage Bet
5⭐️ Tropes: dual POV, marriage of convenience, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, billionaire hero, slow burn
“If I’m hostile, it’s because I’m married to the one man I hate more than anyone else,”
“We’re newly married, complete strangers, and we despise each other.
This is the second book in Olivia Hayle’s “The Billionaire Games” and I loved it! It was funny, tense, spicy, and seriously such a good time!
Paige was backed into a corner and the only solution to save her families business and legacy was to marry Rafe. It was a win win, even though they despised each other. Rafe would gain another company and she would get to save hers in the process.
Paige and Rafe’s chemistry and palpable. They picked at each other and fought at every single turn but they also challenged each other and called each other out on their bullshit. This arrangement was supposed to be straightforward and only business but being around each other blurred those lines…
“I hate that she makes me want her like this. I hate her and the chaos she’s wrought in my life.”
“She loves to goad me. But she hates being goaded in return, and if she’s going to play this game, she won’t find it easy to win.”
“And suddenly I hate the darkness. She should be clad in light, illuminated and worshipped. I want her so badly it makes my teeth ache.”
Both Paige and Rafe have so much internal turmoil that no-one else has been able to see or slip through the cracks - until each other. I love that aspect of the book that dealt with their demons, and the way they helped each other start to move past them. They were each others calm during the storm.
“She seems to be good at that. Finding ways through small cracks, working her way into them, widening them until she fits the whole way through.”
“But every time I’ve needed him, every time I’ve felt on the brink of breaking apart, he’s been there.”
“Without me realizing it, he’s slipped beneath my skin. Between the arguing and the bantering, the pretending and the posturing, we’ve developed something real. And that terrifies me.”
They are seriously perfect for each other in every way - it was in the bad, the good and where it counts most. I adored their hilarious banter so much, had me laughing out loud- neither of them ever missed a beat. HIGHLY recommend this series, I cannot wait for the next book to come out!
“For years, I felt adrift. Like I was searching for something I couldn’t quite name. But now it feels like I’ve dropped anchor.”
Thank you to NetGalley and Olivia Hayle for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
As I was reading the first chapter, no the first page I already new this was going to be atleast atleasttt a 4 star read!! Thankyou Olivia for giving us this beautiful story🫶🏼
I have been counting the days for Rafe’s story and I’m soooo happy I finally got to read it but I’m also sad because it’s over🥺 (I want to buy the physical copy and do a reread immediately thankyou) Olivia the amazing writer that you are, it was so good!! I really loved the Faking Game but this one is without a doubt my favorite💜
The chemistry between Rafe and Paige, the delicious enemies to lovers, the spice, the humor, the banter but also their grief and pain. Oh I love them both so much, as two seperate people but even more so as a couple! They are the perfect addition to eachother🫶🏼 Oh my gosh and they are soooo hilarious, I was giggling and kicking my feet all the time, I have laughed so hard and so many times!! I just loved it so much, can’t say this enough and will repeat that a lot probably!! I’m not even sorry
And he speaks different languages? Hi hello do I need to tell you more? I think Rafe just earned himself a place on my bookbf’s list.. Im obsessed 🫢
Oh also the surprise on my face when I saw she used the name Manon for the interviewer!🥰🤭 I know it’s not for me personal but still I loved that little detail!
Olivia did an amazing job of portraying the characters emotions and the pain they felt from the losses they both went through. Grief comes in many ways, yet it was beautiful to see how they found each other in it. I love them both so dearly!
A cute quote that stayed on my mind : “I want to be your family, Paige. I want so badly not to fail you” 🥺
Thankyou again to Olivia and her amazing team for making me a part of the ARC besties, I am beyond grateful 🫶🏼
This was without a doubt my favorite read for the month of January!⭐️
• 𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 - This book is the definition of contract marriage done right. Paige Wilde and Raphaël Montclair don’t fall in love loudly. They fall in love reluctantly. Carefully. In pieces. And that’s what makes this story hit so hard. From the very first chapter, the tone is set - this isn’t a fairytale romance. It’s guarded hearts, sharp words, and unspoken wounds. Paige agrees to marry a billionaire to save her family company, but what she doesn’t do is lose herself in the process. She walks into this deal with her spine straight, her pride intact, and her fire burning. Paige is fierce, smart, and unapologetic - never once written as fragile or dependent, and that made me love her instantly. Raphaël, on the other hand, is the kind of MMC who speaks less but feels more. Quiet. Controlled. Disciplined. Emotionally damaged in a way that doesn’t scream, but simmers. He hides behind rules, structure, and distance and watching those walls crack was incredibly satisfying. The quotes in this book perfectly capture their dynamic. “I hate the way she winds me up.” “I hate the way we argue like it’s our job.” That’s them. Constant friction. Constant push and pull. Their chemistry isn’t soft at first - it’s tension, banter, irritation, and attraction colliding. Every argument reveals something raw underneath. Every glance carries weight. This is slow burn romance done with intention. And when the emotional shift finally happens? It feels earned. One of my favorite things about this story is how every interaction matters. There are no filler scenes. No rushed confessions. Every small moment builds the connection deeper until you suddenly realize: they’re choosing each other, not because of the contract, but despite it. The book also handles trauma, grief, and healing with so much maturity. Love doesn’t magically fix Paige or Raphaël and I appreciated that deeply. Instead, love gives them a reason to face their pain, to stop running, to finally feel. That realism made the romance powerful rather than idealized. Thank you so much author for the free ARC! 💕
I’ve yet to read an Olivia Hayle book I haven’t LOVED and Rafe and Paige’s story continues that streak. Their rivals-to-reluctant-allies-to-lovers dynamic is so satisfying to watch unfold. The playful banter, ongoing games, and constant scorekeeping, from tennis matches to public appearances, make their chemistry jump off the page. Paige’s bold, unpredictable nature pairs perfectly with Rafe’s confident, fiercely protective presence, and their slow-burn romance feels natural, believable, and SO rewarding.
The marriage-of-convenience setup, with Paige trying to save her family’s failing company by proposing to the billionaire who’s been buying up its shares, creates the perfect mix of tension and emotion. I loved how they became safe spaces for each other, supporting one another through anxiety and nightmares, showing that beneath the luxury and wealth, these characters are flawed and real.
The European settings and close-knit friend group add so much charm, with bonus points for the group chats and “brothers by choice” energy. Overall, it was a fun, swoon-worthy read, easily a 10 out of 10, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
This is the second book in The Billionare Games series and this one concerns Rafe and his marriage of annoyance with Paige the heir of a rival luxury company. Rafe has been secretly buying shares of her company since her uncle was responsible for the stalking of Nora, Rafe’s sister. Paige is determined to save her company and its employees and proposes to Rafe via email. Which he accepts.
I really enjoyed the setting of this book as it takes place during the summer in Italy and it’s currently January and freezing where I live. I also really enjoyed both Rafe and Paige! They’re both such emotionally damaged softies who put up such a tough exterior. I loved how they both helped each other thru really emotional times. I also enjoyed that they both eventually went to therapy. Their relationship was a super slow burn but I felt like was absolutely necessary! You really got to understand how these two did end up falling in love with one another.
Overall this is a great continuation of the series and I’m really interested in the next two books about James and Alex!
Thank you to NetGalley and Olivia Hayle for this eARC in exchange for my honest opinions!
This second book in The Billionaire Games series by Olivia Hayle is a marriage of convenience/enemies to lovers romance that tells the tale of Raphaël Montclair and Paige Wilde’s love story.
Rafe and Paige’s marriage may have started off as a business deal, but in the end, they weren’t able to deny their attraction to each other or resist their fiery chemistry.
They were definitely determined to hate each other at first, but with time, they realized that maybe they could actually work together towards their goals, instead of fighting each other every step of the way.
I thought Rafe and Paige made for a wonderful couple. They were an unlikely match, at least at first, but by the end, I couldn’t imagine them not being together. I’m definitely excited to see what happens next with this series!
I had the absolute funnest time reading this book! This book delivered so well on the banter filled marriage of convenience end I don’t think I’ve read any book that really embodied the concept this well. All I can really say about this book is that it was so chaotic in the best way possible. I especially loved the summery feeling it gave me with the setting being Lake Como during the summer I felt like I teleported this whole reading this book. If you’re looking for a fun, chaotic, and romantic read I would highly recommend reading this book. As always happy reading!
Thank you to Olivia Hayle for this ARC copy of The Marriage Bet!
4.5 stars rounded up.
I was so excited for this book and it did not disappoint. As always a well written book with great character development.
In this book we have Rafe and Paige entering a marriage of convenience to save Paige's family company. The kicker here, he is meant to be the love of her life and they have to pretend not to hate each other. Cue awesome banter that made me laugh out loud!
Read this book if you love
▪️Marriage of Convenience ▪️Great banter ▪️Enemies to lovers ▪️Found family
Ok I couldn’t put this down! Thoroughly enjoyed Rafe and Paige’s banter throughout the book, the chemistry heating up between them both, knew they had to crack at some point! Rafe was my favourite, both their hang ups made you feel for them both even more and wanted them to fall in love.
Check the trigger warnings before you read but how they helped each other was the sweetest. But rafe what a sexy man 🤭 multi language, protective, hot, rich and handsome ✅ ✅ ✅ ✅
