This first part of the 'Saviour' trilogy gripped me from the first page. The dark atmosphere the author creates perfectly complements the torments of the central character - Nick Travis - as he struggles to come to terms with the deeply disturbing images he sees. Is he going mad? Or is a dark force from beyond the grave really communicating with him, taunting and challenging him as he tries to solve the murder of a young boy? Crime and ghosts, what more can I want? The series sets of at a cracking pace with characters that are realistic, despite the paranormal aspect to the story. I already have such an affinity with Nick Travis that I'm keeping everything crossed that nothing nasty will happen to him. But, I have a sneaking feeling.... Beautifully written, I congratulate Beth Kelan on this first part of Saviour and I look forward to the second instalment.

Interesting new take on the 'I see dead people' trope. I like the idea of a Forensic Artist being particularly good at his job of drawing the face of a victim, not just from understanding anatomy and extrapolating from a bare skull, but because he can cheat!
